Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you recently removed some content from United States presidential election in Iowa, 2012  with this edit, without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:15, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited United States presidential election in Texas, 2012, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jon Huntsman. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit]

Thank you for fixing the 1852 US Presidential Election in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts articles, Mr Election. I appreciate that very much! Sorry about those articles being train wrecks after I created them, I'm not sure how that even happened. I tried fixing the Vermont article several times after noticing the mistake, but none of my edits did any good. But still, thanks for fixing those three articles. --JCC the Alternate Historian (talk) 13:30, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

I've blocked you for one week for sock puppetry. I know you claim that you and Not-a-parted-haired-libertarian are friends. Even assuming that's true, Wikipedia is not a playground for teenagers. I also don't accept the claim at face value given the technical results of my check. See WP:GAB for your appeal rights.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:09, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bbb23 I will appeal this block. I understand that Not-a-parted-haired-libertarian and I were using our user pages as playgrounds, but as soon as I received a warning, I stopped making ridiculous edits to his page. When he gave me useless awards on my talk page, I ignored them and told him in person to stop giving me the awards. When he vandalized my talk page, I sent him a message telling him to stop vandalizing or else he would get banned. Not-a-parted-haired-libertarian's edits may seem pointless, however I know that he simply wants to edit the grammar of articles. He is NOT a sock puppet; we simply edit Wikipedia at school under the same I.P. address. We created our accounts using different email addresses, and we both edit articles at home as well under different I.P. addresses. I make serious contributions on this website along with Wikimedia Commons, and Not-a-parted-haired-libertarian's edits are in good faith. You have made a serious error, and I demand an apology. --Mr.Election (talk) 15:24, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This blocked user is asking that his block be reviewed on the Unblock Ticket Request System:

WikiBunny2K1 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

This ban was honestly unfair. Just because Not-a-parted-haired-libertarian and I use Wikipedia under the same I.P. address does not mean that he is a sock of me. Our accounts are very different, and after getting a warning for editing his page the first time, I only edited his page when he wanted to make his page look more professional. I continued to make useful edits on Wikipedia, including making maps for Canadian election articles. I even gave him a warning on his talk page about inappropriate edits. I would not do anything to jeopardize my editing rights, because I love this website. I have been wrongfully accused of something I didn't do, and I ask for a further investigation into this issue

Decline reason:

(1) Without a checkuser review [checkuser is the process whereby some trusted users can check your IP address], it wouldn't be appropriate for anyone else to un-block you. (2) A one-week block for sockpuppetry is exceptionally short (not complaining at Bbb23, just noting this as a fact), and so it will expire in a few days anyway. If you're telling the truth, please don't again edit at school. Nyttend (talk) 20:07, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Municipal elections in Canada

[edit]

Hi, first off, I love your maps! I noticed you added some maps to the most recent municipal elections in Calgary and Edmonton. Considering the council races are non partisan, I'm not sure how helpful having council maps are. I believe it would be a better idea to show the mayoral results by ward (like at Ottawa municipal election, 2014 or Toronto mayoral election, 2014) I have already made maps for Calgary and Edmonton on my blog, but your maps are much nicer. Notice

The article Frisco, Texas City Council has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The city council isn't notable enough to have an article separate from the city

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. 2020 Green Party Primaries

[edit]

Hello MisterElection2001,

I am writing to you to see if you would be interested in helping improve the maps on the 2020 Green Party presidential primaries. Admittedly, my SVG skills are quite limited. Would you be able to help us add three text boxes to our maps for the remaining caucuses in the Green primary? We also need to change Young Greens to Young Ecosocialists. I used the code you wrote for the 2012 maps as a template, but I've hit a wall in trying to figure out how to add more text.

Thanks! Jp16103 17:35, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MisterElection! Once again I am reaching out to you for your help! It has come to our attention that the state of Nebraska has had a three way tie in both popular votes and delegates! Would it be possible for you to update the two maps to reflect this? Similar to the other states that had two way ties between Hawkins in Hunter? Thank you so much for your previous contributions! Speedy deletion nomination of 1993 Beaver River federal by-election

[edit]

Hello, MisterElection2001,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username John B123, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged 1993 Beaver River federal by-election for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|John B123}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Swedish regions

[edit]

From the Swedish Wikipedia: https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Region_(landsting) Counties are merely a formal entity now, they have legally changed their names to regions. I understand your edits were done in good faith but it definitely was not helpful not to consult me so I could inform you of the change in legal status from the 2018 election cycle onwards. Glottran (talk) 07:06, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Stockholm and Norrbotten's pages won't let me move back to the original titles, so I would appreciate help from you in making it happen :)

Infobox markup

[edit]

Hi MisterElection2001, I noticed that you've been adding infoboxes to several Canadian by-election pages, like 2020 Toronto Centre federal by-election and 2020 York Centre federal by-election. This is definitely appreciated! But when I tried to edit one, I found that the coding was all jumbled up— parameters were not grouped together by relevance, but jumbled up in a seemingly random order— which turned what was supposed to be a simple, minor edit into a bit of a hunt. I re-arranged both of them for clarity for any future editors, but I see there's a few more you've done, like 2019 Outremont federal by-election, that have the same issue with the code. I'm not sure exactly what happened here, but if you could take extra care to have more organized code in the future (such as just c/ping the revised Toronto Centre or York Centre boxes), it'd be appreciated. — Kawnhr (talk) 18:56, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]

Could you point me to the discussion where the consensus was that a party can be included in the infobox if it receives at least one seat? I've found several discussions at WP:WPE&R about the 5% threshold but nothing about the one seat rule.--Obi2canibe (talk) 15:44, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Congressional district map request

[edit]

Hey MisterElection2001, I noticed your work on several congressional district maps, and I was wondering if you could create a county results map for the 2006 and 2008 elections in Florida's 16th congressional district. You can find the map of the district overlaid on its counties here and here, and the results are available for 2006 here and 2008 here. I request this because I am really trying to improve the Tim Mahoney article, and the additions of results maps on his page would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -- Politicsfan4 (talk) 17:30, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

NSW 19th century elections

[edit]

Thanks you for your interest in NSW 19th century elections. Can you please stop adding false precision in percentages - 2 decimal places in a percentage = 1 in 10,000. There is an argument as to whether this is significant where there are less than 100,000 voters, but it is entirely meaningless to use 2 decimal places where there are less than 10,000 votes as in Redfern by-election. Also adding adding a line break before <includeonly> creates excessive whitespace on the page, so I would appreciate it if you didn't introduce these errors with your edits. --Find bruce (talk) 00:36, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ME2001. Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:33, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
