on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!
I noticed the new article you created, Listing of Family Court Judges by county in the United States. This edit indicates that you are trying to create an article of information for anyone who may go before these judges. Unfortunately, this kind of information is not really appropriate for a general-interest encyclopedia like wikipedia. It is essentially very specialized information for lawyers who usually hear it by word of mouth instead. I have proposed that the article itself be deleted. Sorry.
If you'd still like to contribute to the project, I'm sure your (perhaps specialized) knowledge can be of good use in many places. A good place to start would be the Wikipedia:Community Portal. Cheers and happy editing!--Kchase02 T 07:23, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Do you have sources for William Shockley's life at hand?
[edit]Hi, Mparrishxx,
I'm watchlisting changes to the article William Shockley, and I notice you have made some extensive changes there. When that has happened in the past, it has often been unclear which new editors have sources at hand as they edit the article, and which are rewriting the article mostly based on their own unsourced impressions of the article topic. I invite you to visit the article talk page to discuss what sources you have at hand, and what other edits you think that article might need. (I see no reason, given the abundance of sources on Shockley's life, why that article couldn't turn into a "good article" or "featured article", for example). I have many reliable sources on Shockley's life currently at hand in my office. That article has been very contentious in the past; let's discuss how to improve its sourcing and make it better. (I see you have been editing articles on other historical persons, perhaps prompted by something you've read recently.) See you on the wiki, and especially at that article and its talk page. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk, how I edit) 20:24, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of William Jay Schieffelin
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on William Jay Schieffelin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Music1201 talk 00:12, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from William Jay Schieffelin, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. — Music1201 talk 20:02, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page:

[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on William Jay Schieffelin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://nyapril1946.blogspot.com/2011/08/william-jay-schieffelin-old-guard.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
Mparrishxx (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I was not finished with this page on William Jay Schieffelin when the remove request came for speedy deletion. I had no idea what that was, so therefore removed it, as I was still working on the page. The final page was certainly stated in my own words with many different sources supporting the document. It looks like the blocker in on a copyright crusade, as she states, and the death sentence she gave my wikipedia account after years of cited and cross referenced contribution seems to be an exercise in zealotry.
Decline reason:
You will not get yourself unblocked by making unfounded accusations against the blocking admin - what you consider "zealotry" is simply the upholding of Wikipedia's copyright policy and of copyright law. The fact that you had perhaps not finished the article is not relevant, as you are not allowed to include copyrighted material in an article even for one second - the strategy of starting an article with some copyrighted material, saving it, and then adjusting it afterwards, is not permitted. Had this been a first offence, then you would simply have been warned about it - but you have multiple previous warnings about earlier copyright violations on this talk page, and when you carry on regardless then a block is inevitable. But it's indefinite, not necessarily infinite, and you can potentially be unblocked by making it clear that you understand copyright policy and that you will not again violate it. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 07:43, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
