Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (Motherfrakker) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because your name is a sound-alike for an obscene phrase. We try to keep things G rated around here :). If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KoshVorlon (talkcontribs) 16:46, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because its username is a blatant violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that your intention is not to contribute to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames, and trolling or other disruptive behavior is not tolerated. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

Hello. If I have an account that has any variation of Mother____er, will I get blocked? I want to know the exact point when an abitrary username becomes offensive, as it's not clear in the username policy. "Motherlover, motherfreer, motherfaker, motherfluker"? Out of context, motherfaker doesn't seem offensive.

Perhaps the person that reported me watches a certain TV show and is letting their knowledge get in the way of their better judgement. Perhaps it's just the fact that it's been brought to attention that makes it SEEM offensive. I don't know. Either way, I was intending to make some good contributions to wiki and I've been very active (in the presence of many admins, too) on the site for the last 2 days without any complaint. If you still think otherwise, I'll be happy to comply - however please keep the userpage and associated subpages open for a few more days because I intend to make a new account. And please reply to this, as the clarification will assist me in choosing my next username. Thank you Motherfrakker (talk) 18:23, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Username blocks tend to be a judgment call on the part of the blocking administrator. In general, any sort of username of the sort "Mother_____" is going to raise at least a few red flags, and is best avoided. Similarly, anything with a misspelled version of profanity is going to raise a great many red flags, and is even more likely to get a block. If it helps, I would have blocked this account myself as well had I noticed it. Accounts are blocked for their username when a) a username implies connection with a company, group, etc. and/or that it is operated by more than one person or b) the username would present an obstacle to collaborative discussion. Perhaps consider it this way - if you don't think you'd like your (grand)mother to see your username, it might be a good idea to choose something else. If you have more questions, you may want to use the {{adminhelp}} template; this one is intended to be used only for block appeals. Hersfold (t/a/c) 20:38, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You can only hope that an administrator disables autoblock. It wouldn't be easy. You made plenty of edits to user talk pages using that particular signature, and that could be interpreted by some as primarily splashing an implied obscenity onto other talk pages. If autoblock does get disabled, try again with a proper name. mechamind90 19:40, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question for administrator

[edit]

{{adminhelp}} I would like to request that all my userspace pages of which there are three, be deleted as per WP:CSD#U1. I can't put the tag there myself because I'm blocked. Thanks. Motherfrakker (talk) 02:26, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's done.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:34, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
