Hello, I'm Guanaco. I noticed that in this edit to Please Describe Yourself, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. —Guanaco 10:33, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Please Describe Yourself, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. —Guanaco 10:52, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain

[edit]

When you remove large chunks of content, especially when there are references attached, we need an explanation. Would you please discuss your changes at Talk:Please Describe Yourself? Also your edit summary: "Owner of Dogs Die In Hot Cars content. Does not wish to promote selected comments, the very nature of which misleads and therefore implies self-serving." Are you personally connected to the band or to the record label? —Guanaco 11:07, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Guanaco, thanks for your diligence. Yes, I represent the band. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to ensure the edits I have made today can be implemented.

Wikipedia has some policies about representatives of an organization editing, and there's a good overview of it at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. The most important thing mandated by the Wikimedia Terms of Use is that you disclose this clearly; I can do this for you on the article's talk page and on your userpage with a template. The other thing is that it's generally discouraged for you to edit the article at all, though simple additions and corrections of indisputable fact can be accepted.
In the case of sweeping removals like you have done, you'll definitely want to propose the edits rather than making them yourself. This can be done using the {{request edit}} template on the talk page, which draws attention for editors to help you. To construct your preferred version of the article, you can create a copy at, for example, User:Mosesjesus/Please Describe Yourself, then make the desired changes.
If you have questions and I'm not around to respond, or you want input from other people, adding {{help me}} here on this talk page will draw people here to assist. —Guanaco 11:27, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's much appreciated. Thank you for all the information. I will look into it.
