This editor has only added references to a relevant academic publication to three articles. Your criticism is completely without foundation. Don't bite the newbies! WP:BITE. --Greenmaven (talk) 02:29, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The so-called reference was never used in the writing of any of those articles. It is promotional editing because it is refspam and my criticism is obviously better than your judgment. My standard message above is in no way biting anyone but your brash accusation calls your judgment into question.

Looks like the account is being used for same on the Italian wiki, as a promo.

In two articles the reference is placed in "Further reading" - entirely relevant to the article. Ditto the third article, except that no "Further reading" section existed, and it was put in an inappropriate section - easy mistake for a beginner. Also, three articles is hardly "spamming". --Greenmaven (talk) 03:17, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Shoehorning their book into a "Further reading" section on a few articles but doing nothing to improve articles is precisely spamming. It is a drive-by drop off..."here, read my book". We don't try to keep exhaustive bibliographies (further reading) but we should be working to make sure they are quality. Not every book on a subject needs mentioning...

I have responded to your entry on WP:ANI. I mentioned there that this is not a reference to a book, but to an article in a scientific journal. This takes away the argument that this person is promoting a book, from which they might profit. --Greenmaven (talk) 05:19, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all. Book, journal, newspaper, article, whatever. It is promotional for the authors.
