(Building as timeline) 1930s

  • History www.sacheart.org - With the approval of the Bishop, the name of the parish was changed to Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1929. Armstrong dedicated the church on September 13, 1931.

1940s

  • Parish History www.stfrancisburney.org - In 1948, Bishop Robert Armstrong assigned the Reverend John DeAndreis the task of starting a new parish in eastern Shasta County. On October 7, 1948, the St. Francis of Assisi was established in Burney, California.

1950s

Armstrong received honorary degree of doctor exercises and was commencement speaker - see next article. Has pic of him receiving degree.
