What do you need help with? --Floquenbeam (talk) 20:49, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a draft messagebox to Draft:Anthony Fry so you can submit it for a review by an experienced editor when it's done. I assume that isn't what you meant to ask, but you'll need to let us know what you need help with to get more specific help. Huon (talk) 22:01, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Floquenbeam and Huon. Thanks for the contact. As Huon has seen, I am creating a page for the artist Anthony Fry. This will need review once I have completed links and layout. Furthermore there is already an existing Anthony Fry page for someone else with the same name. I have no knowledge of how to set up a disambiguation page, so will need help with that. Moregolf1975 (talk) 23:03, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Moregolf2975, I think Huon addressed your first question; when you officially submit the draft for review (by clicking the button and doing what it says), someone will eventually come by to do so. I'm not too familiar with that corner of Wikipedia, so I'm not sure how much time this would be expected to take, but I don't think it takes a really long time. Give it a couple of days and if you don't hear anything let me know and I'll try to find out the usual timeframe.
If more than one person shares a name, they need to be disambiguated. Depending on circumstances, this can be handled in one of two ways, per WP:TWODABS:
  1. If one is clearly the primary topic, then that article should be at Anthony Fry, and the other article should be something along the lines of Anthony Fry (painter) or Anthony Fry (business executive). This would be achieved by moving one or both articles to a new name. Each page would have a hatnote to link to the other.
  2. If they're both more or less equally notable, Anthony Fry can be turned into a disambiguation page, linking to both Anthony Fry (painter) and Anthony Fry (business executive), by first moving the content that's there now to Anthony Fry (business executive). Again each article would have a hatnote.
If it isn't blindingly obvious which article (or neither) is a primary topic, that can be discussed at Talk:Anthony Fry. But it can always be hammered out later, or fixed if a mistake is made. The important thing is to not overwrite the current info, and not use copying/pasting instead of page moving to achieve all this. Let me know if you have any other questions, or if you need help doing this if/when your draft article gets moved to mainspace. --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:17, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Floquenbeam, many thanks for your comprehensive reply and kind offer of help, which I will gladly accept when appropriate. You've cleared up my confusion over primary topic and disambiguation. I'm still assembling the Anthony Fry (artist) page. I have many sources for the information on the page lined up but I'll need some help with how best to configure the links and references to these sources. My plan is to get as far as I can then submit for review. Moregolf1975 (talk) 00:06, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Page submitted for review

[edit]

I have submitted a page for the artist Anthony Fry for review. There is an existing page for a different Anthony Fry. My submission is called 'Anthony Fry', which will clash with the existing page. This will need to be sorted out, and that's beyond my ability. Do I need to address this now, or will it be dealt with during the review process? Thanks. Moregolf1975 (talk) 14:04, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If the draft is acceptable, then the reviewer will disambiguate the name appropriately. Primefac (talk) 14:12, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Primefac (talk Thank you. Moregolf1975 (talk) 14:43, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
