Ontario Reign
[edit]Some critique for your additions to Ontario Reign.
- You MUST cite all references. The majority of your additions read as original research. All additions and contributions to wikipedia must be verifiable by published media. You can use a template such as Template:Cite web.
- Please make the content added sound encyclopedic. Wikipedia is not a fansite, stats site, or sports journal. Please use a non-neutral tone, minimize "weasel words", and avoid WP:SYNTHESIS in your editing. The statement "The team was comparatively less successful in the 2016/2017 season" is an example of synthesis because your are asserting something from previous sources to new sources and implying a conclusion. It is just best note the actual outcome without making any conclusions unless a sourced statement is made (ie avoid use of "successful" or "comparatively" altogether unless a source states something the extent of a "disappointing season").
- Avoid the use of WP:PROSELINE when possible, including season breakdowns in multiple sub-sections. This is mostly for stylistic reasons and generally makes it easier to read in an encyclopedia format.
- Avoid the use of trivia sections. Pretty much anything you added under "Extra Info" in your additions. Keep the content concise. I heavily implore you to take a look at NHL hockey team pages for the format that has been most community-based agreed upon. Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Team pages format is the general format that we try to use when making team pages. If the players are notable, anything you put into Extra Info on Current Roster (also MOS:SECTIONCAPS) should be limited to their own individual page. (Also of note: as this is minor league hockey, the "current" roster changes weekly making this entire section go very quickly out of date. As there are only a few of us that work consistently on the minor league pages, keeping this current would be an impossible task for us and better suited to the fan sites and ice hockey wikis of internet.)
- Your "sponsor" section possibly violates WP:PROMO. Either way, it is not particularly notable as 99% of minor league teams survive due to sponsors. (They also regularly change, making it yet another section we just can't keep current without more help). If your really want to see sponsors in minor league hockey take a look at this rink.
- The page should not read like a newspaper, so avoid any up-to-the-minute style updates like the 2017–18 section that mostly just says "in progress". We typically just update for veritably notable events during the season and general updates at the end of the season.
- The attendance section would have been fine if you had made it a table and if the data was actually about the AHL team. I am not sure we can use an image taken from HockeyDB due to copyright issues. Also, as it only pertained to the ECHL, it would be better suited for that team's own page.
