浜崎 あゆみ, 浜崎歩
[edit]What is this (Birth name 浜崎 あゆみ, 浜崎歩[1] (Hamasaki Ayumi)) in the infobox? EunSoo (talk) 16:35, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- That's pretty much explanatory. MS (Talk|Contributions) 16:59, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Meiko Kaji
[edit]Hi MS. I see you've been involved a little in this. I tried helping a little over at Meiko Kaji, but the IPs keep coming back. The way things work around here, I'll probably get blocked for edit-warring, so I'll leave it alone. You probably know better than I how to get these kinds of things reported & taken care of-- I'm not much of a policy guy. Dekkappai (talk) 22:26, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- I am asking for help on the WP:ANI board. Don't worry about getting blocked, reverting edits made by banned users and their socks do not violate the edit-warring policy. MS (Talk|Contributions) 22:33, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- OK-- thanks! Dekkappai (talk) 22:34, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Red links
[edit]What is wrong with red links on a page? Wikipedia is a work in progress, they point towards topics that merit a page that have not been created yet. --Prosperosity (talk) 15:00, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- There is nothing wrong with them, but what sense does it have them if the article in question might not ever be created or could potentially fail WP:N? MS (Talk|Contributions) 15:28, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Hyuna
[edit]Can you help me out a bit with Hyuna? I believe Izsu and Gcbancodx are sockpuppets of EunSoo, but I can no longer make any sense as to what revisions should be kept and what should be reverted on that article. Thanks. Sorafune +1 23:45, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- If you believe that both users are socks, then tell either one of these admins: User:Syrthiss, User:Bubba hotep and User:zzuuzz. They'll help you with this. Regardless of what revisions you believe should be kept or revert if you think they are socks, which I also believe based on their editing style, all of their edit should be reverted. Zebra Queen
[edit]First, how did you find Namida (Kokoro Abaite)? Are you periodically going through my edits to find when I may have made an article relating to Japanese music?
- First why does it matter how I found the article? And please you are not that important.
Second, the first {{fact}} tag you added was to the fictional Oricon rankings for the year 2025 when the film is set. I would not think that needs a citation. I've added references for the factual Oricon rankings.
- Actually it needs to be sourced regardless. Not everyone knows of the film or has seen the film so a source to prove that the sentence is true is needed.
Third, tēma (テーマ) comes from the German word "Thema", which is of course English for "Theme". Therefore, when one transliterates テーマ into the English alphabet, I translate it into the German spelling to approximate the original pronunciation.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:20, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- MOS:J says we only use another languages romanization if one does not exist in English. One happens to exist in English so we go with that one.
Also, was there really any reason to overwrite the infobox I copied from ja.wiki with the one we use on en.wiki with completely empty fields that I had removed?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:22, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, this is the English Wikipedia so we use the English version of the infobox. And can there once be a time when you don't find your way to my talk a complain? MS (Talk|Contributions) 05:44, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- I only come here when you do things to articles I have primarily written that either are unnecessary or certainly not proscribed by any manual of style that you enforce. The English word "Theme" is not pronounced the same as the German word "Thema" which as I just told you is the source of the Japanese pronunciation of the word. Therefore, I am following the "For transliterations from katakana..." part because テーマ is not an English word transliterated into katakana. It is a German one. If the Japanese had a different source language for that word that resembles the English word "theme" (Danish, French, Greek, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, etc.), I'd use that spelling instead. Also, the only difference you made in the infobox is a bunch of empty fields, the capitalization of the word "single" in the template text, and the addition of the "See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Songs" bit. And I'm merely curious as to how you have come across this page I authored.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 06:46, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:35, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit]What would be the best way to find out how much it sold the single Natsu Matsuri "(夏 祭り," Summer Festival ") of the band Whiteberry?
Is there a link to this site on the Oricon?
I ask this favor, sorry my bad English...

- Well the information to see how much copies the single sold would be available on this site. However, you must be a subscribed user to see the total of sales. You can ask User:Prosperosity to find out how many copies of the single were sold since he is a subscribed user of that site. Yamashita Tomohisa - leader reference
[edit]Hey there, just wanted to ask if you have a more credible source for the 'leader' thing? The Yoimuri article you linked is about his dating rumors and from my understanding, the 'leader' reference came from a reporter asking Kagami Seira a question at a press conference for her movie, not from a representative of Johnny's Entertainment (there is no mention of Yamashita being a leader on their website).
NEWS was created around him and he was introduced as the leader when they debuted, but there are more recent instances out there (Duet April 2007) where he has stated he is not the leader of NEWS. In the 10/08/2007 Hanamaru Cafe, Kato Shigeaki also expressed that Yamashita is not the leader of NEWS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.171.164.212 (talk) 06:24, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- The Yoimuri article is a credible source. The article doesn't state who said he was leader, it was just written there. We cannot assume anything else (see WP:OR). If you want to view other sources that state he is the leader then here is one from 2008, a next one from December 2007, two months after Shigeaki said there wasn't one. More than one source states he is the leader (WP:V), therefore the part about him being leader stays in the article. 夢追人YumeChaser 06:59, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi, I wasn't signed in earlier. Anyway I edited it to state that he's often referred to as leader and added bits about him and the other members stating that he isn't the leader in reality. Felt the acknowledgment of that distinction was important because there has been some confusion/conflict over the issue in the past. Hope it's fine. Jkr2010 (talk) 07:38, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

While I won't fight you about the capitalzation issue (it is an aspect of the manuals of style that I have qualms with), articles on TV shows within WP:TOKU's umbrella bold the song titles in the "theme song" section, unless all music is on a separate article. It is very rare that these theme songs will get other articles, and the sections mirror the formatting that ja.wiki has for them.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 18:42, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
帰ろう is a verb which uses the u as part of its conjugation into the tense that I don't know the name of. As such, it is pronounced separately from the o and the word should be romanized as Kaerou rather than Kaerō.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 18:47, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

CNBLUE
[edit]Thanks for moving the C.N.Blue page. I'm really not sure why people decided to add periods to their name. But I wanted to ask if you think it should be CN BLUE or CNBLUE? Do you think it matters? Pngchi (talk) 07:05, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- The name should not be capitalized because of MOS:TM and WP:ALLCAPS, just so you know for future reference. I don't think it matters, however; it may be easier for people who know nothing about the band to get that CN is an acronym and it looks cleaner as "CN Blue" rather than being bunched together as "CNBlue". 夢追人YumeChaser 07:23, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

- How are people suppose to know that? That needs to be present by the text regardless if you are using the site as an external link. 夢追人YumeChaser 22:07, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- It just seems redundant that you are requesting an inline citation to something that is supported by the external link and the source material (GOLD) itself.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:12, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
I have a nice message on my talk page that says don't give me standardized templated messages. If you have something to say to me, don't use {{uw-npa1}} to do it. Remember that in the future.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:26, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Tell me where in all of your holy manuals of style that says that the name
parameter of {{Infobox musical artist}} cannot feature the stylized name of the band? This section used to hold the band's damn logo before fair use rules were tightened. I severely doubt that WP:MOSTM covers items that are not prose.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 08:37, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Reverting when quoting style guidelines
[edit]Hi, do you know what the proper actions are when somebody is arguing against WP:CAPS (i.e. here) when I don't want to get into an edit war? I know at this point if it were a factual dispute I should try and make a discussion, but since this is purely a guideline issue, I'm not really sure what's proper. --Prosperosity (talk) 09:25, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
- The proper thing to do is start a discussion on the article's talk page or the editor's talk page and discuss the issue. This should be done regardless if it is a guideline issues or a content issue. 夢追人YumeChaser 14:40, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, but given that the user is an IP editor, I'm not too sure how fruitful a discussion would be. --Prosperosity (talk) 01:20, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

- Whether you think "Doesn't matter" is a good reason or not to remove someones edit, honestly doesn't mean anything. I am allowed to write whatever I want in the edit summary field as long as it is within Wikipedia's guidelines. Regardless if you think it makes sense or not to have the Hangul in the Musical artist infobox, it is a standard and common practice to include both. 夢追人YumeChaser 23:41, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

- Caution: You are close to violating the three revert rule at TVXQ. -- Tom N (tcncv) talk/contrib 23:45, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Okay then where is the rule for that? If there is no rule for it then anyone can change that "common practice" if given a good reason. And "Doesn't Matter" is not a good enough reason because it states nothing. It neither agrees or disagrees with my reason. Why are making such a big deal out of a small edit?
You know it makes no sense to have Hangul in both the Infobox and the Korean Name box or else the Korean Name box would be pointless. 41.210.55.157 (talk) 23:47, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Did I say rule? No I did not. And your reason isn't a good one, it is your personal choice. Like I said earlier I can write whatever I want as long as it is in line with Wikipedia's guidelines. I'm not making a big deal out of anything. You are and it started with this message. Actually the Korean name box is there for romanization reasons. 夢追人YumeChaser 23:57, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- But what you are doing isn't within the guideline Yume. You haven't shown me any rules or guidelines that says that Hangul has to be in the Infobox. So what you are doing is your personal preference. I am the one following guidelines, you aren't. 41.210.55.157 (talk) 23:59, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

- You just stated you are the one following the guidelines while I am not. I am repeating myself about what I said about the Hangul. It doesn't matter how long I've been editing here nor is it relevant to our discussion. 夢追人YumeChaser 00:20, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

- Once again never said it was a rule or guideline. What guideline are you following? Please show it to me. 夢追人YumeChaser 00:11, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- A lot of other pages (that have the Korean Name Infobox) don't have Hangul at the top that's why. I found this http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_%28Korea-related_articles%29 and it explains what the use of the Korean Name Infobox. And its so you don't need to the Hangul name in the Infobox. 41.210.55.157 (talk) 00:23, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- And there is a lot that does, so your reason is invalid. That manual of style is inactive, as apparent from the notice on the top of the page, and is no longer relevant due to its inactivity. Also, nowhere on that page does it say the Hangul is not allowed in the musical artist infobox. 夢追人YumeChaser 00:31, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- It also doesn't say that Hangul is allowed in the Infobox. Thus you reason doesn't make sense either. The point is you shouldn't have Hangul in both Infobox's. The Korean Name Infobox was on the page so I see no point of it being in the Musical Artist Infobox. 41.210.55.157 (talk) 00:34, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- Stop putting words in my mouth, alright? I never said your reason didn't make sense. Read it again. I'm tried of this back and forth. I no longer wish to converse with you. Re: Beginner (song)
[edit]Thanks for your edits towards Beginner (song), the changes are much appreciated. I would like to note something regarding the covers the singles and the tracklist though.
Past AKB48 single articles such as Ponytail to Chouchou and Heavy Rotation followed a similar template that highlighted the three different covers (A, B, and theater). I understand your concern for the inclusion of additional images being possibly violation of WP:NFCC, but in my opinion, at least the type B cover and the theater edition cover should be featured (as they were in the past) to show the differences in cover variation and the importance of media senbatsu. Additional limited edition covers may be inserted at the bottom of the article as a gallery or some sorts.
Track list wise, the summarization that all lyrics are by Akimoto is much appreciated. However previous articles noted the differences in track listings for each one, especially showing that the theater version contained all the songs and no off vocal versions. If this template can be continued in this article that would be great.
Thanks mouselmm (talk) 18:07, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
- I understand that those articles have three different covers in the articles. Those, like the covers on "Beginner", have to be removed as well. Adding those covers will still be in violation of WP:NFCC. If anything the theater cover should be used if the senbatsu is that important. In fact the theater version is the one I would use for this single since all the members are featured on it. But from Amazon and other websites the limited edition A cover was the one that seemed more popular, so that is the one I used.
About the track listing. While I get that different versions of the single were released that contains different track and such, it is redundant to have the track list repeated, when it can be summarized into one. But I'll re-add them and make them collapsible.
Please note that every article is different regardless of how a related article may look. "Beginner" does not have to follow the write-up of "Ponytail to Chouchou" and vice versa. 夢追人YumeChaser 19:34, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Mygirlcddvd.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Mygirlcddvd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 06:23, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:StandbyU.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:StandbyU.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:07, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

R U Professional - featured article candidate
[edit]- Notifying you, as you were the GA Reviewer for the article:
I've nominated the article about the song "R U Professional" for Featured Article consideration.
It's a satirical song and a form of parody music using sampling.
Comments would be appreciated, at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/R U Professional/archive1.
Thank you for your time,

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Lovingyou.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Lovingyou.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ℯxplicit 06:25, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
