Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or website, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 16:36, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I am super confused by all of this. I'm just trying to add information about a publication and since I'm the one who does the majority of work with it, I was doing to adding. It was suggested that I add our link to other pages as a resource--which we are. Can you please help me understand where I'm going wrong? Do I need to pay someone else to write our page? And, can I not add our link to places where it is helpful to readers? I added our link to the page for Monterey which had two other media sources--why would ours be advertising but not theirs? I'm very confused!! Monterey Bay Parent (talk) 17:10, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, what should my user name be? Just something generic and then Monterey Bay Parent page would have that title? Monterey Bay Parent (talk) 17:11, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sources on Wikipedia must meet its definition of reliable sources. Sources are considered reliable if they have an established reputation for fact-checking and editorial oversight. This heavily favours mainstream news organizations, academic press, and reputable publishers of newspapers, books and magazines.
Even if your publication were to meet this definition, it would still be an inherent conflict of interest for you to cite it as a source in Wikipedia articles. Surely you can understand how this can be perceived as self-serving. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 20:34, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).

Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=andreamtry | 3=didn't understand why I should not be using my business name | 4=~~~~}}

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=andreamtry | reason=didn't understand why I should not be using my business name | accept=Allowing username change to requested username. Please select an option from [[Wikipedia:Changing username]] and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.
