User:Visviva has worked hard to create a brand new Portal:Korea. Please take a look & contribute if you can. I think the new Template:Korea topics has the potential to be a more useful reference tool than categories or lists, if editors continue to expand and update it. It's also a good reminder for help & requests on ye olde notice board. Hopefully, this will help revive some activity all around. Appleby 22:32, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kim Gun Mo

[edit]

Some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Kim Gun Mo may not be sufficiently well-known to merit articles of their own. The Wikipedia community welcomes newcomers, and encourages them to become Wikipedians. On Wikipedia, each user is entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves, and this article's content may be incorporated into that page. However, to merit inclusion in the encyclopedia proper, a subject must be notable. We encourage you to write or improve articles on notable subjects. Jachin 06:56, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well... As he has released 10 albums (2 is minimum for Wikipedia), I do think he is notable enough. He has also won several awards, which I didn't include because I don't know English names for them. List of all of the awards he has won is in the References section. Monni 08:18, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Malta Song entries..

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. Could you possibly consider putting approrpiate stub tags on the articles (i.e {{song-stub}} so that other contributors are able to find the articles to help improve them?

Thanks ShakespeareFan00 11:43, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I usually don't put stub tags on articles as some "vandals" are monitoring music-related stubs and tagging them for speedy deletion. Monni 11:47, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... I assume you've reported this 'vandal' threat to the appropriate people?

ShakespeareFan00 11:53, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can't do much as there is a loophole in the rules that allow speedy deletion of very new articles. Some admins kill all messages that are related to that loophole. Monni 11:59, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Owarai

[edit]

Hey there, I noticed you made some contributions falling into the realm of owarai. I can see you mostly edit music articles, but I thought I'd bring Wikipedia:WikiProject Owarai to your attention anyways. Keep up the good editing!  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  10:27, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Like you said, music is my main interest, but a lot of times singers and other musicians are also actors. I usually try looking information for missing articles in related articles and sometimes I found something that is scattered in various articles and when there is enough information to justify creating own article, I do it... Monni 12:18, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I guess I meant to say "added correct stub". Anyways, my mistake, I've been deleting a lot of "Japanese biographical" and "Japanese person" stubs lately (which as far as I can see aren't maintained by anyone) and I got a little ahead of myself.  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  11:35, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No real harm done... It's really easy to re-add stub tags... I was thinking that some members of the WikiProject could help me translate more from Japanese Wikipedia. I mostly combined what I could find in related articled in here. Monni 11:42, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikidates

[edit]

Please don't change properly formatted wikidates in [[YYYY-MM-DD]] format to something else - it is considered vandalism. If dates don't appear the way you want them to, you can use the "my preferences" link at the top (next to your username) to change the way Wikipedia displays dates. Shinobu 09:14, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've set it to display them my way, but as far as I know, the system doesn't support that format yet. Monni 11:17, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You changed the dates to MMMM DD, YYYY, a format that is supported by the MediaWiki software. Regardless, if you change dates from the proper wikidates, you change it for everyone, including the majority of people who quite happy with one of the built-in formats and don't like to see their user preferences ignored. If you have exotic date needs, you can always write a user script. Shinobu 08:59, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you have any clue what you are trying to talk about... I'm not using any exotic date format nor I want to. Monni 11:21, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Do you know how to go about setting up a korea-band-stub template? :P SKS2K6 07:12, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we have enough bands yet. Monni 16:41, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Considering deletion..

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Papaya (group), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Papaya (group) is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Papaya (group). Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable.

2 albums, associated with multiple notable other artists. CSD A7 doesn't apply. Monni 04:16, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Terveiset Suomesta, Monni1995

[edit]

P.S. Ei haittaa, vaikka kielitaitosi olisi "ruosteessa". korjaan kielioppivirheet mielelläni -- JeeJee 80.221.56.130 18:26, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

why

[edit]

Why do you keep changing the naomi lynch page? There is nothing on it that isnt true its all either directly from her or her website... It shouldnt be deleted.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.46.70.86 (talkcontribs)

Her myspace isn't verifiable. Everything has to be published somewhere reputable before adding to Wikipedia. Whole page was deleted some time ago and I really don't want it to happen again. Monni 08:57, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

In this edit you say "read the guidelines". For the life of me I can't find them and I need to show them to another user. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:11, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, thanks. I see that only applies to musicians. I was hoping for one that covered all people. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 21:01, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia doesn't have guidelines that cover all Infoboxes... You could ask WP Biography to add generic guideline to {{Infobox Biography}}, because most relevant WikiProjects are children of WP Biography. Monni 21:30, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

excellent work on cites for Hip Hop!-Robotam 04:24, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks a lot indeed for your positive approach. The first time ı created the a.m. stub-template, I was not aware of any rules governing this subject. But, the template I copied from was probably a special one and not suitable for general cases. So, it created unwillingly wrong categories. As I checked the next day, the source template was modified.

I asked and waited some time hoping some admin would fix the mess I caused. Since nothing happened, I thought I better fix it by myself.CeeGee 18:39, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Every user has been newbie here once and we really shouldn't trash ideas just because a newbie proposed them... We all make mistakes, but we also learn from them. For most stub proposals and discoveries, I check with StubSense to see if there is enough existing potential stubs, and if there is, I try to avoid voting "delete" and resort to alternative solutions. Monni 18:50, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some comments at the deletion page, can you take a look at them please? Thanks. One Night In Hackney303 17:52, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you found Tzofei Tel-Aviv and added categories. Did you find it through an orphan category? I was just curious because nobody but me seemed to know about it. I'm glad other people (well, one so far) are finding it. Thanks for putting more-specific stub categories on it; I couldn't find those myself for some reason.

This is a long shot, but you wouldn't happen to have any ideas for finding more information about this group, would you? I've scoured Google, but half of the meager 10-15 results are in Spanish, which does me (and the English Wikipedia) no real good. Just a thought... I'll be watching here if you reply. — Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 01:43, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. Thanks! --Mel Etitis (Talk) 19:21, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well... I don't see anything major in removing commented out maintenance templates and removing formatting that unnecessarily makes maintenance template higher than is necessary. Monni 19:27, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're quite right; I left the message here before fully realising what your edit had done; in my defence, ot wasn't terribly clear in thediff., but I should have been more careful and gone more slowly. Sorry. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 19:30, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
