Monkey13 Awards

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Monkey13 Awards, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Monkey13 Awards. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Signature problem

[[User talk:Monkey13|Monkey]][[User:Monkey13|13]] copy and paste this into your signature bar under preferencs. Click "Raw Signature" and save. Do not include the "nowikis" in your sig. And I took the liberty of "adopting" you. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 22:15, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks-Monkey13! 22:35, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I'm not real sure how this "adoption" thing is supposed to go, but I'll help you in anyway I can. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 23:02, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Esperanza

[edit]

Welcome, Monkey13, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact our administrator general Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

November Esperanza Newsletter

[edit]
Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.
Signed...
Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

You're really not helping here, Monkey13. I appreciate your attempts to keep Esperanza but this really isn't the way to go about it. — Editor at Large(speak) 23:05, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If Esperanza is deleted, then there will be no Stress Busters. That will mean this problem won't be solved. Besides, Esperanza isn't harming anyone. It's none of their business. We're not forcing them to join Esperanza. -Monkey 13!!! 23:15, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And it will ruin my signature. -Monkey 13!!! 23:13, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This message is per the "Random Stuff" section on the Coffee Lounge. My advice you; apologize and back off from the MFD. I realize you're probably not doing this as vandalism, but you are not acting in the proper manner. Monkey, you are a serious detriment to Esperanza and the progress in the MFD. You are the prime example of what we should not be. I know this is an un-Esperanzian attitude, but seriously; sometimes civility can't get the message through. DoomsDay349 00:51, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aye, you are. You know just how to make me feel bad!  :) Sorry if I lost my cool there. The Esperanza thing is causing me a lot of tension... I still think you ought apologize though. DoomsDay349 01:03, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's riskier than We Will Block You. It also has more original lyrics (not as close to the original lyrics).

Article redirect

[edit]

Greetings, please do not recreate the page at The Last Song I'm Wasting On You. This article has been made into a redirect as it does not meet the notability standards for individual songs (aka, it's not a single, has not charted, etc. see WP:SINGLE). If you have any questions, please leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! -- Huntster T@C 07:00, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's my newest parody.

Next Ev single

[edit]

Regarding "All That I'm Living For", while it may very well be the next single from Evanescence, until we have a media source (and no, lets not use concert announcements, or even YouTube evidence, as that is copyright vio to film it), lets not post this information. At this point, it exist as rumour. Thanks! -- Huntster T • @ • C 23:18, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Opendoor album.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Opendoor album.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit]

Please remove your practical joke banner. Such things are obnoxious and detract from the user experience. Also, spoofing the user interface is officially discouraged per WP:USER. For an example of a fun and far more palettable alternative, see the orange box at User talk:Bishonen. If you feel a need to keep the orange box, please consider using a distinctive message not easily confused with the new messages announcement. Dragons flight 08:32, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I am AlexHillan, member of the Department of Fun and creator of Wikipedia the Beautiful. I noticed that you are a composer of one or more wikisongs. I am proposing that Wikipedia the Beautiful becomes the official theme song. You may leave me a message on my talk page telling me what you think. Thanks, AlexHillan 00:06, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo, I am from the german Wikipedia from the sociologic section, and I found out that you wrote a song text on http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Song . We want to know the reason(s) why you wrote this song. It would be kind of you to leave an english (or german) comment on http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Wikipedistik/Soziologie/Musik&action=edit&redlink=1 . File permission problem with File:Oct2006.PNG

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Oct2006.PNG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 03:46, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
