{{Unblock on hold|Daniel|I have tried to contact the admin Daniel, but he has not responded to any of my emails. I am not sure why I was blocked indefinitely, but I am certainly willing to make changes to the way I post in order to be unblocked. I just needed a little guidance, but was blocked in what seems to be one of the maximum penalties at the disposal of admins. I used a neutral tone in the post and cited three sources (1 national newspaper), as stated in BLP policy. I also did not receive any warnings or comments on my talk page. I was under the impression that another user was initiating an edit war, so I posted the uw-3rr. The other user never attempted to contact me to resolve or find a compromise for the revision. I also see that I was cited for a sockpuppet violation. This is easily explained because the admin Avraham, recently changed my screen name as I requested. If you look at the times of effect, it is quite easy to see how the error occurred. I had no idea the name change had taken effect at the time, nor was I aware that I could still log into the old user name after the change had taken effect. Can you correct my entries for Westlake High school (California) and change any listed as Jonpentium4 all to my new user name Momosgarage? I am unsure about what to do now and still don't really understand what I did wrong from the perspective of Daniel because I have still not received feedback. I would have never contributed to this entry if I had known it would get me banned. If the history tab had shown more users other than Graydog28 reverting my entry I would have heeded the community’s opinion on the matter. In fact another user did find my entry to be reasonable and undid the edit. I haven't done many wiki entries as you already know. It's not intuitive process and everyone has to begin somewhere. Can you help me take the steps needed to reinstate my account? Thanks for your time.|Jayron32.talk.contribs 04:00, 10 July 2009 (UTC)}}[reply]

Blocking admin contacted for further input. Please awair his response. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 04:00, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Has the blocking admin made any comments yet? What is the next step? --Momosgarage.talk.contribs 10:42, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He responded when queried. The short dialogue can be found here. Looking at it, I can't find the reason for the block, but given the nature of the accusation it's entirely possible that the edits where WP:OVERSIGHTed. I suggest posting another unblock request. Cheers. lifebaka++ 22:07, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock|As suggested by the admin Lifebaka, I am posting another unblock request. I posted a request for unblock earlier on July 10th 2009, but it was never resolved. I have learned my lesson and the process for requesting an unblock has taught me even more about the community. I would like to move forward and begin contributing again to wikipedia.}}

Looking over all the users contributions, I can't find anything that would've justified a block. Given that the user was never notified of any wrongdoing, I mean leaning towards unblocking, but would like another opinion first. Cheers. lifebaka++ 17:00, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I've unblocked. It's apparent to me that the whole sockpuppetry business was a misunderstanding, and even if it weren't, blocking both accounts indefinitely was harsh given the situation. Momosgarage -- the issue is that you were edit warring over a change that others saw as an unsupportable bit of negative content about a fundamentally private individual. If you disagree, just discuss the issue with them instead of reverting, and hopefully you can come to an understanding. Mangojuicetalk 19:14, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the second chance and thank you Mangojuice for giving me a good explanation of how the edit war was my responsibility. That’s exactly the kind of guidance and feedback I needed many month ago. I will do my best to take what I have learned from this experience and grow into a better contributor to the community. Also, is there any way to correct the entry from 18:39, 29 June 2009 for Jonpentium4 which is under the Westlake high school entry? It is listed as a jonpentium4 entry, but should be listed as a Momosgarage entry.

Not that I know of, unfortunately. It should've been taken care of when your account was renamed, but I suppose there was some sort of bug. You might want to search through bugzilla to see if there's anything already relating to this issue, and if not you could post your own. I'd also suggest just leaving a note on your userpage claiming the Jonpentium4 account as your previous username, as a temporary solution to avoid anyone else making the same mistake. Since you haven't gotten one yet (I don't think), I'm putting a welcome template below; it has many more useful links that I could ever remember. If you need anything, feel free to ask at my talk page or email me. Cheers!
