[edit]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Pacifica High School (Oxnard, California). Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. In addition, your new content violates WP:NOTDIR, also a pillar policy, and guidelines WP:WEIGHT and school article guidelines. In an encylopedia, we do not write about a given subject, in this case a school; instead, we write about what others have written about the subject in secondary sources. Without a newspaper, magazine, book or academic journal source from outside the local area, this addition is dead in the water. With a good source, it might merit one sentence in another section. Do not replace without consensus. See WP:BRD for how to proceed further. John from Idegon (talk) 17:12, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

[edit]

When adding content to Wikipedia articles, editors here never directly address the reader here as "you". We write in a completely neutral style, and never take a didactic approach to our readers.

When adding content to an article, we must be careful to avoid giving a small aspect of the topic undue weight. I think that the program you are writing about is wise and worthy, but Wikipedia is not the place to promote worthy programs. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:57, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
