Your sandbox article

[edit]

Hi. I saw your sandbox article on Yusuf Ahmed Mohamed. I wanted to offer some help, explaining how Wikipedia works.

First, imagine someone were to write an article containing false information. The way we prevent that is that information in the articles need <ref>s to reliable sources. The policy is called Verifiability. Almost none of the information in your sandbox is sourced. We are extra careful with biographies. Our biography policy is BLP.

Second, we don't have articles on people who were just in the news for a single event. Policy BLP1E.

To make this into an acceptable article you would need to add refs for the information, removing any information that was still unsourced. You also need to show Yusuf Ahmed Mohamed was covered in the news or other sources, for something other than just his murder. I hope this helps. Alsee (talk) 08:10, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved this from the user page where it was mistakenly placed. --David Biddulph (talk) 06:13, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mokillem,

I have written a brief article about Yusuf Ahmed Sarinle, based on what I could find online. I would appreciate your comments. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:00, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Mokillem: I am another editor who read in the Teahouse about your Wikipedia activity. I made a small improvement to the photo caption for the Yusuf Ahmed Sarinle page. I'll try to find channels by which you might pursue sources of more information and will get back to you here. Possibly the references in other English-language articles in Category:Somalian people will give you useful leads. -- Deborahjay (talk) 13:06, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Mokillem: Are you perhaps able to add other languages to the Wikidata page? See the fields at the top of the page in the fields "Label" and "description" (before Statements) - I can help fill this in. -- Deborahjay (talk) 14:34, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
