The matter of Wellington's nationality has been discussed to death over the years, to the point that consensus has opted with "British", and any changes to "Irish" are often reverted if no reliable unbiased sourcing was provided to give a good account for the edit. On Wiki we generally call a point of view which has no chance of getting anywhere, and is ended early to prevent repetition, "snowballing". The British/Irish debate has been repeated so often that it is a waste of time for most people to repeat themselves. It is a minor controversial topic, but referencing has generally favoured the British viewpoint, based on various social and political considerations contemporary to Wellington's birth. You can find some of those past discussions in the article's talk page Archives. The most obvious, "he was born in Ireland, so he must be Irish", argument is one that has been raised also, and refuted for various reasons. If you really do dispute the article, you're probably going to need a fresh perspective with references that have not been presented before, in order to create an original debate, otherwise it's unlikely to make any headway from the off, and editors may simply refer you to the Archives and consider the matter closed based on past consensus. Do think carefully before doing doing so, and please don't revert other editors over the matter, as it can lead to unfriendly responses and admin involvement, especially as this is a new account.
