Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 05:41, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This bot has been signing my comment I already signed. Please fix it. MohonkMH talk 22:33, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You aren't actually singing when your sig is actually links to youtube. Eeekster (talk) 22:30, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

About Sinebot

[edit]

Hi, I've noticed that you've been complaining about Sinebot signing your signature which you have already placed. This is probably because you've used a youtube video as links for your username and your talk page links. Please note that your name should link to your userpage, and "talk" should link to this page. Linking it to other pages may be considered spamming. Thanks. Darylgolden(talk) 05:52, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's not spamming, video explains everything about me. --MohonkMH talk 22:33, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you really have to have the video on Wikipedia, consider linking it from your user page. Including it in your signature is not just spamming, it's also misleading - the "username" and "talk" links should link to your user page and talk page, respectively. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 22:27, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just didn't have time to make an extra page about me, so I took a shortcut. MohonkMH talk 22:29, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I didn't realize you own wikipedia, I'll fix it. --MohonkMH talk 22:34, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why on earth do you imagine that anyone would want to see a Youtube video of you (disguised as a talk message)?Pincrete (talk) 22:40, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't own Wikipedia (it's owned by the Wikimedia Foundation). But Wikipedia is not a forum or a personal website; this is one of the Wikipedia policies. See this guideline on dealing with spam on why your actions were out of line; in fact, the guideline specifically asks users NOT to add external links to their signature. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 22:43, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Again, please stop spamming the YouTube video. I am not interested in watching it. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 23:30, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As I have noted in the editing summary, the image was thoroughly uninformative. Had it depicted the building's interior in some meaningful way, it would have been better. (By the way, thanks for removing the links from your signature.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 22:48, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
