Records for Mohamed Salah

[edit]

Please could you refrain from adding records prematurely and without a verified source to Mohamed Salah. Additionally, if you are adding records please ensure you are using correct and consistent formatting as well as checking for correct spelling before adding records. Equally, consider the importance of the records you are adding. Clearly you are a big fan of the player (as am I), but records for "most Fantasy PL points" appear to me as pointless trivia in comparison to other records such as "Most goals in a Premier League season". @Formulaonewiki:

Thank you for your guidance in my first days at Wikipedia I used your tips here and at Salah page even if I didn't know how to use the talk page, and yes as you i'am a big fan for Mo

Infobox dates

[edit]

Hi, when updating infobox stats you should update the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats, by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 19:37, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

twitter, facebook, instagram etc.

[edit]

We only list one official site of a subject, per WP:ELMINOFFICIAL. There is no merit to listing more, that is a consensus that is held up for a long time. If you want to make a case otherwise, please see WT:EL, WP:EL/N, or the talkpage of the page (though the latter would not trump global consensus). --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:50, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mohamed.Gamal88 and Barton Dave: There are two issues with this statement: "Salah is Muslim and celebrates goals by performing the sujud. On this goal celebration, Salah told CNN, ”It's something like praying or thanking God for what I have received, but yeah, it’s just praying and praying for a win. [I’ve] always done that since I was young, everywhere."

First, it cites New Yorker (2018), Tribuna (2018), Archive Islam (2014) and Irish News (2018). The year at present is 2020, not 2014 or 2018. Therefore, the information written in those articles may have become outdated. A recent reliable source saying he is Muslim and still celebrates goals with the Sujud, is required per policy. As a Liverpool supporter, I noticed that he has not celebrated a goal like that this season at all. Although there is some verisimilitude to it, the statement needs to be backed up by a recent reliable source for the sake of verifiability. If you cannot do that, the statement must be removed.

Second, the statement is unsubstantial in terms of importance. For example, Salah's teammates Alisson Becker and Roberto Firmino are Christians and have been baptized, but it is not written in the 'Personal life' section in their articles. We do not need to write about the person's religion unless it is significant to the person's notable. Comments? Ae245 (talk) 09:35, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ae245 and Barton Dave: Sorry if I didn't reply well because I never used the talk page before,

The Christian players in Europe never gets a racism because of their religion otherwise Salah did receive racism many times starting with his arrival to Liverpool by A Female city council which make Liverpool supporters to sing for him that "I'll be Muslim too!" [1]

Many other times he received a racism in games by fans from Fulham , Chelsea, West ham , Everton & etc [2] it's already mentioned in his page , and you can read here how it's significant to Mohamed Salah to add his religion And his Muslim Goal Celebration in this study by Stanford University "Research by Stanford University found an 18.9 per cent drop in anti-Muslim hate crimes on Merseyside in the period since Salah signed for Liverpool in June 2017" [3] In this article from The independent 4 June 2019 it's including talk about the [Sujud] Celebration,

and another one here talking about the same case the [Sujud] celebration And Racism against him because he is Muslim & the study by Stanford University 7 Feb 2020 [4]

or from Liverpool echo 22 DEC 2019 [5]

you can watch here from BBC as well [6]

and here something about how he changed people view about Islam [7] ,

YOU SAID As a Liverpool supporter, I noticed that he has not celebrated a goal like that this season at all WHICH IS not right at all he do it after every single goal he scored right after he received the congratulations from his team mates AND for example you can see in this video [8] for west ham united game 15 days ago !

And from Sheffield game 40 days ago [9]

And Watford game 2 months ago [10] AND here 2nd goal from the same game [11]

There for if you want to change The Ref to fresh one you can use The independent article at 4 June 2019 or Liverpool Echo from 22 DEC 2019 or liverpool.com 7 Feb 2020

It's okay. I am not bothered about it anymore. Ae245 (talk) 18:57, 15 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mo Salah diving claims

[edit]

Hi there, I have reverted your edit at Mohamed Salah. I would like to point out that the article covers all aspects about him. Even the not so nice ones. As a Liverpool supporter I don't particularly like these claims and accusations, but it cannot be denied that they happened and that therefore they deserve a mention. Hope you understand. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 11:34, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have now made some minor adjustments to the edit you reverted. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 11:42, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there REDMAN 2019 ,

it's actually funny that's no mention about diving anywhere on English players Wiki like Marcus Rashford or Harry Kane or Callum Wilson or Jamie Vardy or Raheem Sterling or Jack Grealish AND MANY MANY MORE .

if the footballer who claimed to be diving representing England or just white European Non Muslim player like Bruno Fernandes it's will be clever from him or invited the contact ,

BUT if the player like MOHAMED SALAH is ARAB MUSLIM then he is CHEAT and DIVER , its just racism and Xenophobia by the English media specially from talk shit (sport) and sky sports And MOTD With Gary Linker who will never mention an English player name with the word diving .

Same as the agenda goes against him by some assholes like Graeme Souness who is always saying salah is greedy and selfish bla bla bla , Even when he praise his performance he always end his words by saying Salah is the most greedy player I've ever seen !

BTW they used to say the same about all black non English players but since Black live matter movement they stop their agenda against black players , you must be remembering the same agenda against Sadio Mane who dive twice in Everton game but no body mentioned it on the Media.

So if you want to push the Racism or Xenophobia agenda with them go on I'm not gonna stop you for sure .

Please see this video it's supporting my point of view [12]

I am saying that he has been accused of diving, not that he actually dives. If I was saying that he is a dirty diver who spends the entire game on the floor then yes, it would need removing. All I am saying is that he has been accused of diving. That is perfectly true and there is no need to get so angry over it. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 10:48, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Mohamed.Gamal88! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. TornadoLGS (talk) 00:41, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
