Hello, and thank you for your message. The reason why I wrote 10 is that I found that specific number in "Srpski Biografski Recnik" (and the other source was more unclear, it just said that he had the rank at the age of 10, but not when he got it).

Do you know where I can find more publications about the details regarding his WWI service, so that the page can be updated?

One more thing - have you got any additional photographs of him? So far, this is the only ones in the Commons archive. Link: Commons:Category:Momčilo Gavrić. - Anonimski (talk) 11:35, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks for the info. I'd prefer web sources - I live in Sweden and don't really have time to look in the archives, editing Wikipedia is more like a hobby from my perspective. The reason why I was interested, is that I participated in expanding the Momčilo Gavrić article earlier this year. Anyway, if you have a scanner, it would be nice if you could upload related images to the online archive Wikimedia Commons (same log-in as your Wikipedia account): http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page - Anonimski (talk) 12:36, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Gavric article, again

[edit]

Hi

I don't doubt that you're a descendant of him, but you need to be aware of that Wikipedia articles must use published sources. It's part of a local rule - "no original research". Everything that's said on Wikipedia articles must be traced to another source.

What needs to be done here (to follow Wikipedia's rules) is to somehow make the source data available and accessible for the reader. You don't need to send anything in paper format, just make a scan or a photo of the original document where it says "8" instead of "10".

And this is not a lack of "dignity or respect" as you wrote - it's just a basic principle of how Wikipedia functions.

Also, please write your responses here on this page, you don't need to use the e-mail service. Anonimski (talk) 19:35, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

Actually we can't use scans, please see WP:VERIFY. And we do need sources. And what exactly is "Sudbina najmlađeg kaplara by Svetlana Milovanović, 2014. (Serbian) ISBN 978-86-7594-034-0"? I can't find it. Dougweller (talk) 13:49, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Momcilo Gavric shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 36 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule, as you did at Momčilo Gavrić. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Bbb23 (talk) 22:18, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Response to email

Hello

Thank you for sending me the source documentary. You should have done that in the beginning, instead of adding things without references and using alternative accounts. Anyway, I shall verify the statements in the video when I have time to see it (probably tomorrow evening). One more thing...communication between Wikipedia users is usually done on "Talkpages" (such as this one), not private e-mails. - Anonimski (talk) 20:36, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
