Help Requested

I could use your help on a Canadian radio station article. I'm admittedly out of my depth on this one with the CRTC and ISEDC databases and tons of links, plus stuff I just don't understand (how a station can go from licensed to basically Part 15). So, I was wondering if you could help me out with the CFPP-FM article and all of these references plus not to mention the entire freakin' Canadian broadcast database...in a zip file. See what I did there? :)

I'm lost and I could use your help. I've already asked "Dravecky, where are you when I need you?" at least twice. That's how lost I am. :) Can you help, please? - NeutralhomerTalk • 03:05 on February 24, 2018 (UTC)

Remarkably, even though I'm in Toronto, I'm probably next to useless to you on this. I hardly ever touch Canadian radio station articles, and I've spent very little time working with the regular references. I think the guy you really want for this is Bearcat. We currently have a difference of opinion on this one. It's up for AfD and we could not be anywhere close to each other when it comes our opinions on this one. He thinks it isn't worth keeping, I think it is, but since it is Canadian, I'm lost. Since he is the Canadian station expert, I can't really ask for his help, hence me asking you. Rock, meet another rock. - NeutralhomerTalk • 05:52 on February 24, 2018 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – March 2018

News and updates for administrators from the past month (February 2018).

Administrator changes

removed AngelOfSadnessBhadaniChris 73CorenFridayMidomMike V
† Lourdes has requested that her admin rights be temporarily removed, pending her return from travel.

Guideline and policy news

  • The autoconfirmed article creation trial (ACTRIAL) is scheduled to end on 14 March 2018. The results of the research collected can be read on Meta Wiki.
  • Community ban discussions must now stay open for at least 24 hours prior to being closed.
  • A change to the administrator inactivity policy has been proposed. Under the proposal, if an administrator has not used their admin tools for a period of five years and is subsequently desysopped for inactivity, the administrator would have to file a new RfA in order to regain the tools.
  • A change to the banning policy has been proposed which would specify conditions under which a repeat sockmaster may be considered de facto banned, reducing the need to start a community ban discussion for these users.

Technical news

  • CheckUsers are now able to view private data such as IP addresses from the edit filter log, e.g. when the filter prevents a user from creating an account. Previously, this information was unavailable to CheckUsers because access to it could not be logged.
  • The edit filter has a new feature contains_all that edit filter managers may use to check if one or more strings are all contained in another given string.

Miscellaneous

Obituaries

  • Bhadani (Gangadhar Bhadani) passed away on 8 February 2018. Bhadani joined Wikipedia in March 2005 and became an administrator in September 2005. While he was active, Bhadani was regarded as one of the most prolific Wikipedians from India.

Just a heads up, looks like WTCS-AM is now WBKE as of March 1. I'd move all the pieces around, but I'm crashing and burning in mere seconds (early, long, and busy day tomorrow) and I just found it (thought it was vandalism, turns out it wasn't). Oddly, they still have the same 1490wtcs.com website. Go figure. Anywho, grab it at your leisure. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 02:48 on March 6, 2018 (UTC)

Done! Mlaffs (talk) 03:54, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
Much appreciated! :) I'll try to get a more updated website and logo for the page sometime today, but as you can see I'm starting out even earlier than I'd planned. Thanks again! - NeutralhomerTalk • 13:25 on March 6, 2018 (UTC)
