Notability of Michael R Koch

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Michael R Koch, by Eliz81, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Michael R Koch seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Michael R Koch, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Michael R Koch itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:47, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Depends. I have deleted the page because it has read like a promotional, and unsalvageable promotional articles may be speedily deleted by any administrator. If you believe we should have an article about the organization, please see the notability guidelines for companies before re-creating it. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 17:50, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Proffiliates

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Proffiliates, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ukexpat (talk) 18:20, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message on my talk page. Your intentions are honourable, but even if the article was not intended to be promotional, it certainly reads like it. I suggest you read the guidelines referred to by Mike Rosoft above. In particular the article must have claims of notability supported by verifiable, third-party, references, ie press coverage etc. The company's own website is not sufficient nor are listings on trade directories etc. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 18:43, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
