Finding somewhere to start helping

[edit]

Greetings helper. I have decided to help out around here recently, but am having problems finding somewhere to start. I went over to Articles needing clarification but found it rather intimidating and wasn't sure why some articles in categories didn't still have the tags. I am a native English speaker at a high level of proficiency so I am happy to do work in editing unclear articles.

If you could offer me a little help by giving me a task to do I would be happy to comply and would probably learn the ropes from there. I also have a good aptitude to computer based syntaxes and technical tasks so I would be alright to do stuff falling under that.

Hope this doesn't sound too pathetic...

Many thanks,

Here's a suggestion, why don't you join a WikiProject? These are collaborations between different editors that share the same interest and they usually have things that need to be done.
For example, you see to be interested in copyediting. The perfect WikiProject for you would be the Wikipedia:Guild of copyeditors. They usually have a backlog of articles needing copyediting. And welcome to Wikipedia. :) -- OBSIDIANSOUL 07:28, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
