Sorry I didn't reply back

I am a little wrapped up in a few community discussions. I really should have taken a minute to respond and that was my fault. Thank you for the barn stars and I hope the project is moving along nicely. If you ever need anything or just have a question about policy or procedure, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page at any time.--Amadscientist (talk) 20:25, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

Image discussion formatting

Create a new section with the header "Image discussion for infobox". Next use the gallery mark-up coding to present both images side by side. Below is an example from a recent discussion I took part of. Be sure and place some prose just above the images something like below:

Which of these photos is better for the Infobox?

the coding looks like this: <gallery perrow=2> File:10.16.11ScottAllieByLuigiNovi1.jpg |A File:Scott Allie 4 Mar 2013 version.jpg |B </gallery> Just copy the above and replace the image files with the ones you want to discuss. Good luck and Happy editing!--Amadscientist (talk) 21:18, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

If you decide to ping the other editors be sure and word it in a neutral manner so that it is not canvassing. Something along the lines of:
"Hello, there is currently an image discussion taking place on the talk page of an article you have been involved with. Please take a minute to weigh in on the discussion".
Only ping those editors that have edited the page in the past. Although you could also ping editors you know are interested in image policy and helping with image discussions. Again, make the ping neutral. --Amadscientist (talk) 21:26, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Adoption

Hello Miss Bono,

I am willing to discuss adoption with you. I suggest that you send me an email telling me about yourself and what you hope to accomplish on Wikipedia. Tell me also about how you perceive any problems you've encountered. If email doesn't work for you, then let's discuss it on my talk page or yours. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:56, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

I might not being here tomorrow or weekend, but I'll be here by Monday. I only have Wikipedia Access at work and I only have to work Since Monday to Friday... but tomorrow is Good Friday and it's holiday. Anyway, thanks for your time and I'm happy you've replied. Miss Bono (talk) 20:04, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
I completely understand the limitations of your work schedule, and your access to Wikipedia editing. Make your work your first priority. So, when you have time to respond, please address the issues I brought forward in my initial response above. And then, the conversation will continue. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:25, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
About me; well, I love english-I'm from Cuba- that's why I edit the most at here than at wikipedia in Spanish. My interest are about music, I love it, I live for it, so I would be glad to colaborate in any article about music, but most in articles related to Irish band U2, I was fighting to re-activate its Wikiproject, I'm still on that. I would really like to extend all of its articles and make them better-even the best articles.

So far that's what I can tell, if you want to know more just ask! :) PS: Thanks for the understanding Miss Bono (talk) 15:28, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

We have some common interests. I spent two months in Cuba back in 1972, working on a construction project and touring the country for two weeks. At that same time period, I owned a record store specializing in rock and roll. As for U2, I saw them perform about 20 years ago in San Francisco. I like them very much but am not a devoted fan. I like too many bands to focus too much on one.
It seems to me that working to improve your English prose might be a good goal. Though I understand you easily, you make some errors that shows you are not a native speaker. That will come with practice, editing and proofreading, and expressing yourself in written English over time.
What do you see as your greatest challenges in editing Wikipedia? What sorts of problems have you had? Do you have any specific short term goals or long term goals? How do you see the shortcomings in Wikipedia's coverage of U2? How do you think that I can be of assistance to you? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:53, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
Did U like Cuba? It is a lovely place, I love it, but I would like to make a trip to see another country, I woul like to visit Ireland. Wao!! I wish I could see U2 performing live, that's one of my dreams, the other one is finishing my novel and becoming a journalist, maybe a Sociologist. I'm 18 years old.

I am a devote fan of U2, I started listening to their music when I was 11 years old, at the same time I started with Lennon, Dylan and Elvis; but is scaring the way I got involved with u2, I can't explain it :(... I got their entire discography, but not the albums- I got it on Digital Format. I only have No Line on the Horizon as a CD format, also I have their iPod U2 special edition and a copy of U2 by U2, I consider myself as a U2 material Collector-without sounding obsessive.

On the other hand, i would like to improve my English prose.. how do I do that? Can you help me on that?? If possible.
My greatest challenges in editing Wikipedia is creating my first article. And the problems I have had are mostly about adding references, that's kinda a problem to me. Is my English that bad? I think that, as an experienced editor you can be my guide on here at least til I improve all my habilities. Don't you think that?

Thnks for replying.. See you tomorrow, my work hours have finished Miss Bono (talk) 20:24, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

This alerts the projects when articles with project banners have changes made for projects task force and other elated collaborations.--Amadscientist (talk) 00:14, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Your English

I am starting a new section because I am using a smart phone, and it is tough to handle big blocks of text. No, your English is not "bad" and I can't complain since I know only a few words and phrases of Spanish and wasted three years trying to learn German without much success. But your written English is not fully fluent in my opinion, and the best way to improve it is practice, combined with a willingness to listen to constructive criticism.

What is the topic of the first article you plan? Do you have a userspace draft? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:59, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

i'm willing to listen to constructive criticism... :) Miss Bono (talk) 15:27, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Article idea

If you read the U2 timeline article for the year 1987, you will see a red link for Vaillancourt Fountain in San Francisco. Bono spray painted a slogan on it during a free concert, and I was there. The fountain is very modernistic, considered ugly by some, and discussed by architecture critics. Bono apologized for the damage and paid for repairs. I bet you could do a good article about the Fountain. Here's a newspaper article: http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=bLsyAAAAIBAJ&sjid=m-8DAAAAIBAJ&pg=6827,9493607&dq=vaillancourt-fountain+bono&hl=en .What do you think? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 22:45, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

it would be great but there's a problem, i don't have full internet access until May, cuz it's is expensive around here to have an Internet account. If you could send me the information to my new email?? would you mind??

Thanks for the idea!!, PS i have a pict of tghe graffitiMiss Bono (talk) 11:53, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Buena Fe (banda) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. I am having a good day so far, and hope you are too. Maybe we can discuss the '87 concert and the fountain incident later. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:15, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
I'll be glad to do so. but I have no work to do right now, can we have a discuss?? :) Miss Bono (talk) 18:18, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
i need recomendations to improve my English Miss Bono (talk) 18:29, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
What I can do is gently correct your English, if that won't hurt your feelings. When you said, "can we have a discuss?" it should have been "discussion". The verb is discuss. It is what the people do. Discussion is the noun, very similar to a conversation.Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:02, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
I appreciate what you are doing. It will not hurt my feelings 'cause I feel better owhen I learn and when someone teachs me. So i can improve my English. I'm not that kind of person who bothers just because someones corrects them Miss Bono (talk) 19:05, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
I also have some kind of problem with the use of "at", "on" n' "in". It's usually hard for me to know where i should write each. Miss Bono (talk) 19:10, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
I will watch your use of those words and give you hints. Notes on my talk page are fine, as I will get an alert on my phone. If I am slow to respond, I am either working hard or driving. Your talk page is on my watchlist. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:29, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
ok, no problem. i was looking some issue related to U2 to create an article. But i have to have enough material to start it. i don't know yet. Miss Bono (talk) 19:34, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

One "Google Question"

What's the use for Google Book. I can download books from it??Miss Bono (talk) 19:41, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

  • No, but you can read sections of some books online. Miss Bono, please don't put your email address on here anymore. Go into your preferences (if you can't find them, Cullen can) and check "allow email" or something like that, and if needs be people can email you through that function. Happy editing, Drmies (talk) 20:09, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

U2

I like them but not a big fan. :P Cathairawr 22:39, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Morleigh Steinberger

Hello, If Morleigh Steinberger deserves an article, it is because of her work as a choreographer, not simply because she married a rock star. So notability needs to be shown for her. Otherwise, she can be discussed in her husband's biography.

My recommendation is that you pick one U2 related article, either to write new, or an existing one to expand and reference. And then you can develop your skills in the context of that specific project to improve the encyclopedia. I am willing to help you as a mentor as long as you need the help, and as long as we both agree that the collaboration is productive.

It could be Vaillancourt Fountain, or Morleigh Steinberger, or one of the existing articles you mentioned on my talk page. You can make that decision. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:47, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

I agree with you. I have a few articles on my mind but i would need information and references and I'm afraid I don't have enough access to the internet to look for it.

Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:55, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

I understand that your have access problems. But apparently, your access to the internet is good enough to ask lots of questions at the Teahouse, and work on your userpage and signature, and ask a lot of editors if they want to help edit U2 articles. All that is well and good. But don't you have access to Google as well, to do some serious research with the goal of improving the encyclopedia? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 23:53, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
If I had acces to google I wouldn't be asking at the teahouse or working on my signature and my user page. I only have access to wikipedia at work and here is not Internet it's Intranet. internet is at home, and is very slow and expensive... I can't even have access to Wikimedia, Wikicommons, or Wikictionary

I am building a list of active editors who we may contact and ask to join the WP, but there are about 400 active editors since October 2012 /o\ and I'm NOT ready /o\. My talk page

Hello Miss Bono,

TheOriginalSoni has raised some issues on my talk page. That editor fears that I am "raining on your parade". That means trying to dampen your enthusiasm. My perception is that I am trying to focus your enthusiasm on a worthwhile and achievable goal. So, your thoughts are needed here. If I am not the right mentor for you, so be it. We can both move on, and I have plenty to do, and many other projects to work on. So, let me know. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:07, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

I posted a response on my talk page. If you agree, let's develop a method to collaborate on an article. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:23, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

The U2 Wikiproject Collaboration Of The Month Department

Hi, not sure what this is meant to be, but I know it doesn't belong in main article space. I moved it to User:Miss Bono/The U2 Wikiproject Collaboration Of The Month Department for you to work on there. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:25, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

MiszaBot

MiszaBot is a "bot" on Wikipedia. Bots perform tasks too dull and repetitious for most humans. MiszaBot is made to archive talk pages. There are three MiszaBots:

  • MiszaBot: Archives talk pages
  • MiszaBot II: Archives Wikipedia talk pages, what will help you with WikiProject U2
  • MiszaBot III: Archives user talk pages

What I showed you to set up is a little box that gives MiszaBot II instructions on what to do with Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U2 and its archives. The "algo" means that anything that was posted thirty days ago is being archived. This gives ample time for response. The second line shows what to archive. The third line shows what to start with, and the fourth line is how big that archive can get. As soon as Archive 2 reaches 70K worth of info, MiszaBot II will create Archive 3 and update the counter. The archive header shows what to put at the top of the archives. The last two lines are how many to archive at once and how many threads to leave.

If there is a hot debate that is going over a month and MiszaBot shouldn't archive, you should put {{subst:DNAU}} until the matter is settled. This automatically means "do not archive until ten years from now", but your debate shouldn't last that long. You generally shouldn't set a time when it will archive if it's a great debate because you don't know when that debate will simmer down.

You always want to leave a couple of threads so that people don't assume that all your business is finished. öBrambleberry of RiverClan 16:25, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for your message

Hello Miss Bono,

I received your kind and informative message, and I understand much better now the challenges that you face in editing Wikipedia. I am still working, and am using a smart phone, so I will keep this fairly brief now. If you have decided that you want me to be your mentor, then I will set up a shared user page this evening, that we can use to work on various things together. I can do Google searches, and post relevant quotations on that page. I will provide all the elements of a proper Wikipedia reference. You can work on formatting the references, writing article content and so on. I can proofread and correct any minor errors of grammar. Once we agree that the article is ready, we can move it to main space. How does that sound to you? Do you want to start with The Edge's wife? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 22:58, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Yeah!!! SOUNDS GRRRREAT!!!   Miss Bono (zootalk) 13:47, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Message from WikiProject U2 (April 2013)

Announcements and news for WikiProject U2

April 2013:

Update: there is currently a roll call going on at the project's talk page. If you are actively participating in the project please add your signature to the list. If you do not, you will be listed as inactive. Your name will be moved to the Inactive/former members section and/or the the project userbox will be removed from your user page.

Thanks for your help!

You are receving this because your username is listed in Category:WikiProject U2 members or on our participants list. If you would like to stop these sorts of updates please remove the userbox from your profile and move your name down to the Inactive/former members section of the participants list.
Cheers.

P.S.: I know you are very ACTIVE in this project, but I think it would be better if you SIGN the roll call by yourself. At the end of the month we will update the project membership list. Thanks!

Announcements sent and lists of participants

I've sent the April 2013 Roll Call announcements to all active editors listed in Category:WikiProject U2 members and Wikipedia:WikiProject U2/membership list (marked with " Done"). –pjoef (talkcontribs)

Users listed in Category:WikiProject U2 members

Members listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject U2/membership list (inactive, and blocked users excluded)

Members listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject_U2/Members
Note: This was the list at Wikipedia:WikiProject_U2/Members before your edits. It seems to be a list for subscribing to the project newsletter.

Former members (inactive and blocked)

I've also created a list of active editors who have edited articles belonging to the project since October 2012. There are about 400 usernames! I will now see if we can ask to some of them to join the project. All the best. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 10:14, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Active editors table (October 2012 – March 2013)

The table showing all editors who have edited at least one article that belongs to the project since October 2012 until 2 April 2013 IS HERE. However we can NOT contact all of them, and some have been contacted yet, but we have to make a case-by-case decision based on many factors (numnber of edits/articles/good edits, and etcetera). Feel free to use and edit the table. Click on a column header cell to sort the table rows based on that selected column in ascending order first, and subsequently toggling between ascending and descending order. We could update the table by editing the last three columns or ny removing entire rows corresponding to those who have been contacted and of editors who are not eligible to be invited. I think that we need experienced editors (not red link) with some good edits on the subject (U2 and related). I hope this help and feel free to contact me if you want any more info. Cheers. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 11:24, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Roll call procedure

Add (copy and paste)…

#~~~~

…just below the last users. # is for an oredered list item, the four tildes… you know, is for you signature. And you have done.
<!-- is for (X)HTML comments (hidden text) that will be closed by -->: all the texts and lines within those two marks will be hidden in reading mode, and shown in editing mode. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 12:27, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

It's great all you are doing!! Thank you very much for your support. Cheers to you!   Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:14, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

You are welcome! It is a good practice to use the preview button (usually: [Show preview]) at the bottom of the editor to see what you are going to do. The last button [Show changes] will show you the differences between the last edit (or the version you are editing) and your ongoing edit. Those differences will be shown in a table placed at the top of the page (or section) you are editing. Best! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 12:35, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Re: I think you deserve this

/o\ it was not necessary. However, the U2 Barnstar is now proudly shown on the top of my trophy case. ;) Thank you so very much!
To return the favour, I've noticed that there was a problem with your signature. Part of it has been corrected. Very well! But there is still a problem with it. There is a newline just after: <span style="font-family:'Segoe Script'">&nbsp; and before: [[User:Miss Bono|<span style="color:black;">…
The correct[ed] code for your signature is:

<span style="font-family:'Segoe Script',cursive">&nbsp;[[User:Miss Bono|<span style="color:black;">'''Miss Bono'''</span>]]&nbsp;[[User talk:Miss Bono|<span style="color:red;">(zootalk)</span>]]</span>

And the result is:  Miss Bono (zootalk)

It's all in one line and (zootalk) is in bold because it is on its own page/link (your talk page). You could copy and paste the code straight into your signature field within your Special:Preferences, and do not forget to check Treat the above as wiki markup… if you haven't yet.

Caution

Hello Miss Bono,

Congratulations on having your efforts mentioned in The Signpost.

Your enthusiasm is wonderful, but you need to be careful about contacting too many people and pushing your devotion to U2 too forcefully. Respected Wikipedia editors work on a wide variety of topics. When administrators like User: Drmies (a friend of mine) and User:BrownHairedGirl start expressing concern, you should be cautious.

Please read WP:SPA, and please ask me questions on my talk page before setting off on any new ventures. Let's focus on the article on Morleigh Steinberg, and when that is in main space, people will know that you are here to improve the encyclopedia, not to organize a fan club. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 03:35, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

U2 Barnstar revamp

I agree the barnstar needs to be revamped (since it almost looks like the Albanian air force insignia on a star). I wan to to help, but not sure what concept you had in mind. Like Moxy, my knowledge about the band is very limited. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 08:02, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Templates...again

How can I create a template for a dancer, with background color and stuffs?  Miss Bono (zootalk) 19:32, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi Miss Bono. Do you mean one of those templates one often sees on the right hand side of an article which contains a picture and other information? If so, you might try using {{infobox dancer}}. However, I don't know how to change the colors. Maybe someone else does, if it's possible. (Changing colors is sometimes inadvisable because of accessibility concerns; see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility#Color.) In any event, you would place in the article, at or near the top, the following
{{Infobox dancer
| name =
| image         = <!-- Name.jpg (do not place "File:")-->
| birth_place =
| alt =
| caption =
| full_name =
| birth_name =
| birth_date    = <!-- {{birth date and age|yyyy|mm|dd}} or {{birth date|yyyy|mm|dd}} -->
| birth_place =
| death_date    = <!-- {{death date and age|deathyear|mm|dd|birthyear|mm|dd}} -->
| death_place =
| height =
| occupation =
| years_active =
| current_group =
| former_groups =
| dances =
| website       = <!-- {{URL|website}} -->
}}

Fill in the parameters after the equal signs with the pertinent information for the person. You can simply leave blank or even remove any parameters that are inapplicable. If you meant something else, please advise.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 21:55, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

{{Infobox dancer}} does not permit styling customizations. The template that {{Infobox dancer}} uses, {{Infobox person}}, does allow it; however, I don't recommend an inexperienced editor try to use this template. What I would recommend for you Miss Bono, is to ask one of your WikiProject colleagues if they can help you get it set-up, and then just add the information that is needed. Good luck! Technical 13 (talk) 23:05, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Hi again, Miss Bono. I'm going to disagree with Technical 13 this time. Check the essay Thinking outside the infobox. Feel free to experiment in your sandbox or the sandbox and testcases pages of any infobox (listed on the very bottom of the template's page). Read Template HELP to learn how to really mess up, sorry, how to customize templates. No harm is done as long as you're in a sandbox. Almost all existing templates are protected; only administrators may edit them. That's why you see a View source tab instead of edit. New editors bring new ideas for improving Wikipedia. Miss Bono, a colleague can probably set up an infobox for you a lot faster than you. When that's done, you still won't know how to set up an infobox. My opinion is to go for it. Make mistakes in your sandbox and learn how to fix them yourself. Put in some bare dates and somebody will come along and explain subtemplates for dates. Mistakes don't harm Wikipedia.
Be Bold. Try customizing some templates in your sandbox. If they look good and work there, they will work in a mainspace article. You won't break anything. Templates are protected. I do ask that you view your customization with at least three different browsers, perhaps Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome or Opera. If it looks OK in the two dominant browsers and an alternate, it's good to go. Let others know about your brilliance in article and template talk pages. Expect resistance from those who don't like change and congratulations from others who like what you accomplished. Consensus will be reached; both you and Wikipedia will be better for your efforts. Just my opinion. Take care, DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·cont) Join WER 01:09, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Re: What

Trying to give a sensible reply to your question is not easy. The discussion at WP U2 has not produced good results (I will try to suggest more inputs there). We have to wait until the end of April before we know the results of the roll call. At the moment, it is difficult to see many chances going by its way. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 08:32, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Re: Improving
Well, a newsletter is very difficult to organize, and it also requires a subscription (Wikipedia:WikiProject_U2/Members???). After the first issue, there will be a few news and updates, and, in any case, I think it is better to wait until the end of this month.
The "collaboration" thingY is a good idea, but The Collaborations of the Fortnight and of the Month are about the same thing (there are just 2 weeks of difference).
A "to do list" could be added to the Tasks section (see: Wikipedia:WikiProject_The_Clash#Tasks and Wikipedia:WikiProject The Clash/to do.)
A new WP's section for adopting articles that belong to WP:U2 may be of some help (see: Wikipedia:WikiProject_The_Clash#Adopt_an_article).
Please, read Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Guide#Revival for more suggestions and ideas.
Best! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 12:45, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Re: Suggestion
It is not easy at all. As you may have noticed, no one has adopted a WP:Clash article (me a part). At the moment, one possible way and the only idea that comes to my mind is to prepare a newsletter for the month of May that takes into account and reports the results of the roll call and asks to adopt one or more articles. Keep up the good work and whenever I come up with new ideas, I will let you know. Best. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 07:17, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

/o\ I was referring to: “I would like to ping some other editors to contribute to WikiProject U2
About the interview request, I think it is better to wait until the next month or we will have a negative impact (because of the massive pings, requests, roll call, and etcetera that are now in progress). In the meantime, I hope we will have new informations to share with them. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 14:42, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Tinnitis

Hi Miss Bono,

I worked very long hours yesterday so was not able to do more research on Morleigh Steinberg. But I think that tinnitus reference is bad and should be removed from articles. What do you think? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 14:33, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Re: What To Do?!

Well, a very important part of WP:U2 is the Assessment department, which focuses on assessing the quality of WP:U2 articles and on identifying articles in need of further work. For example, there are 48 Stub-Class articles and 117 Start-Class articles that are in need of further work.
Also, there is a very useful tool that lists all articles flagged for cleanup. I cannot find it within WP:U2. For an example of what it does, see: Wikipedia:WikiProject The Clash/Cleanup listing or [1] [I'm not sure you have full access to the second link, but the first will work]). It is probably a good idea to request to User talk:Svick/WikiProject cleanup listing to add WP:U2. If you have problems with this and think that it is useful for the project, please let me know.
A brief note about the Roll call procedure: I'm tagging all users on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_U2#Roll_sheet with  Done — but only after having moved them from Wikipedia:WikiProject_U2/membership_list#Inactive.3F to Wikipedia:WikiProject_U2/membership_list#Active. The main reason is to fill the list of members that appears (or appeared, there are c.a. 9 active members right now) almost empty.
Best! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 07:31, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

U2 article work

Hi, I happened to see your sandbox work. Good going on Morleigh Steinberg. I might be able to help add to it at some point.

Regarding articles about U2 songs, sometimes there are past articles about songs that later got hidden by redirects. If you look at Category:U2_songs, all the ones in italics might contain an article that used to exist. Specifically about "4th of July", since you were starting to work on it, if you click through the redirect, you can get to a history this like. It shows that an article on the song was created in 2006 but redirected out in 2009. This version sort of had the maximum amount of content of any of them. Why was it redirected? For a period of time it was thought that U2 songs couldn't have articles unless they were released as singles or were otherwise very famous. That later changed, and now pretty much all the tracks on U2 albums like No Line on the Horizon and All That You Can't Leave Behind and Achtung Baby and The Joshua Tree have their own articles. So there's no reason "4th of July" couldn't too, although it would need more than the one source it had back then. But restoring that old version would be a good place to start, before modifying and expanding. Wasted Time R (talk) 12:32, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Morleigh article progress

Hello Miss Bono,

You have made great progress on this article, and I am impressed. I think that it should be ready for main Wikipedia space within a few days. I added another source at the very end. Are you planning to mention her daughter's illness?

I haven't been able to find out about any other siblings except Roxanne. The Hot Press source lists her year of birth as 1961. I would use that, since it is a more current source than the Daily News of LA story. We can't infer her age in years, though, until we have an exact birth date, which I haven't been able to find yet.

You say that she's Jewish and I certainly believe that she is of Jewish origin. But we don't list religious identity unless the person has specifically said that they identify with that religion. By the way, I found a source saying she had performed dance in Israel, but that doesn't prove she identifies as Jewish. She could be atheist or Buddhist, or uninterested in religion. Does your book say clearly that she is herself Jewish?

You are doing an outstanding job on this article, especially considering the internet obstacles you face. It is a pleasure to work on this project with you, and to get to know you a bit during the process. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:15, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me work with you. The pleasure is all mine :D. The book says that he and Edge married in a Christian/Jewish ceremony and that her father sang old Jewish chants. Does that count??... I'll do my best to finish the article as soon as possible. It has been nice to meet you Jim... Hat off to you!! :D  Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:15, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I am planning to talk about Sian's illness but I am trying to settle down that information. I also have a lot of work to do and in a month the bosses gonna carry out an audit and I am working hard to have thing in order, anyway i'll continue working on morleigh's article.  Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:31, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello Miss Bono,

Please read the material I've posted on the mentorship page, take notes, paraphrase, save brief quotes, and then erase the lengthy quotes. We really shouldn't be keeping copyrighted material on Wikipedia pages. I hope that you understand, and I think that your unique situation justifies this BRIEF hosting. Please feel free to ask questions, and please know that this has nothing to do with you personally, but has to do with international copyright law. Thank you, my friend. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:28, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

I suggest that you remove all old talkbacks, and set up archival for your talk page. Otherwise your page is way too long now. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 12:41, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
Cullen might be able to set up the archiving up for you. He'll know which bot and settings are best. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 12:49, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
Removing old talk backs is a good way to trim your talk page. As for archiving, I am "old school" and do it manually. I just create a subpage for a year, cut the messages, paste them in, and create a link in my talk page. Most very active editors (and you are one now) have a bot take care of it automatically. I fear the bots might seize power and kill all the people (just kidding) so I do it myself. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:58, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello Laura,

Take a look at that. I can see how it could be confusing to you. There are some examples of various usages, and please feel free to ask me to explain anything that isn't clear to you.

On another matter, the insulting remark wasn't vandalism, strictly speaking. It was a personal attack. But such an insult out of the blue is very close to vandalism. Do not take it personally. You are far better than they are. Take care. -Jim Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:24, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the kind words, Jim. I've always tended to be very sensitive so I get depress easily (I am not an EMO, ok? :D) but I am sensitve. I don't like people dislike me, especially when I don't assault anyone around here, on the contrary, I always watch my words so I don't offend them. I don't see why anyone wants to attack me that way. But, life goes on. Also I want to say thanks for being my friend. Take cara U 2...  Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:31, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

1997 U2 concert in Sarajevo

I'm a little confused by your nomination of 1997 U2 concert in Sarajevo for GA. Isn't this already a GA? Also, when you nominate an article for GA status, you can simply add {{subst:GAN|subtopic=}} to the article's talk page and let the bot do the rest; for instructions, see here. I've reverted this for now since it appears probable this was some kind of error; my apologies if I did so prematurely. And thanks for all your work on U2 articles! -- Khazar2 (talk) 18:46, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

And now I'm really confused. Love Is Blindness, Stay (Faraway, So Close!), Exit (song) and U2 concert in Sarajevo all seem to be good articles, right? Am I misunderstanding? -- Khazar2 (talk) 18:49, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
No problem! I would suggest in the future, though, that you check if an article is already a good article before nominating. You can look for the green circle on the article page, or the large banner on the top of the talk page. Since most of these appear to already be good articles, I reverted your nominations. For the one that's not yet a Good Article, you can see instructions for how to nominate at the link I gave above: Wikipedia:Good_article_nominations/Instructions. Thanks again for your work on these, and good luck with the nomination! -- Khazar2 (talk) 18:53, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
You can find instructions for that at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates. I'd suggest only doing one at a time, though (actually, I think the rules require this). Good luck! -- Khazar2 (talk) 18:55, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi, in future if you have a page with the subscriber names on, and the finished newsletter, I have access to EdwardsBot so I would be happy to deliver it if you leave a note on my talk page.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 20:53, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Well I would need two things - a page with a list of sunscribers on (i.e. if you create a sub-page for active members, and transclude it onto the main members page) and the newsletter you wish to distribute. If you leave a note on my talk page, linking to those things, then I will deliver the newsletter for you.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 13:02, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

Forza Juve!!!

Hello there, I just thought that it was very nice of you to send me a message the other day! I thought I would "introduce" myself. Great year to be a Juve Fan!! ...Especially after the painful years that we had to deal with in the post-Calciopoli era. I am a HUGE fan as well, and I have been for a long long time. Proud to say that I have not missed a game since 2004. Del Piero was always my favorite player (as it says on my page). He was on top of the world when I was growing up, and to see Juve without him this year is so strange. Pirlo was a blessing for us, and I dread the day Buffon has to hang up his gloves. Hopefully Nicola Leali lives up to all of the hype... Thanks for the good wishes...playing in college is the best! Juve10 (talk) 02:10, 13 May 2013 (UTC) (Marco)

..oh OK. Sheesssh. lol :-) --Merbabu (talk) 00:28, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Thank you!

Hi Miss Bono,
War and Achtung Baby are not just my favorite U2 records, but are some of my favorite records, full stop. I still have a cassette with War on one side and October on the other that I recorded in early 1984. The tape doesn't work any more, but I can't bear to throw it out. When I was in my mid teens, U2 wasn't just a band that mattered, it was the only band that mattered.

I wish I was a little more older! :( I'd liked to feel U2 real power! :) Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:04, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
I saw U2 live at the MCG in 1993. I was mightily miffed that they didn't play Gloria. (Ooh, look at the single cover - The Edge, when he had hair!) But seriously, as with Like a song..., Red Light (U2 song) might well end up being redirected to War. I sometimes wish I was born in Germany in the late 17th Century, so I could have seen wise old Bach playing the viola in the the first performances of his works in Köthen and Leipzig. But that's just me, and my very odd tastes in music. --Shirt58 (talk) 14:37, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
It is not odd. I secretly enjoy listen to Chopin and Mozart. You didn't tell your age. ;) Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:40, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
There are any number of "tells" at Summa (Pärt), Angels' Carol, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Mock Morris, Munich Chamber Orchestra, and Genesis Suite that indicate that I'm possibly about a hundred years old...
That said, I'm as flattered as anyone could possibly be, Miss Bono... .--Shirt58 (talk) 16:20, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Re: "One Tree Hill"

I wouldn't mind seeing it as TFA, but my preference would be for it to happen on 3 July, as that is when Greg Carroll died. Since U2 3D ran just a few months ago, and music articles are selected fairly frequently, it would be difficult to guarantee a date for it to run; or for it to run at all, for that matter. The process for TFA nominations (the criteria, determining points, making the noms, etc.) is at WP:TFAR if you want to take a look at it. Melicans (talk, contributions) 01:02, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I think it is better that way. So let´s leave it for 3 July in Greg´s memoriam :) Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:40, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Every caring person has an element of the fool within their personality. There is even a song about it, Everybody Plays the Fool, which came out when I was 21 years old. I understand much of what you are going through, but of course can't understand it all. I have had similar experiences, though again not exactly the same. Our purpose here is to build an encyclopedia, and that is the ultimate purpose of any friendships that we build here, at least "on Wikipedia". But as long as we keep that goal central, friendship is fine. Anna is showing you the type of interaction that the best long-term editors here perfected over time. We all have our passions and emotions, but maintaining the neutral point of view in our content creation comes first. It is also a useful model, I think, for our social interactions as Wikipedians, as it is closely related to civility. You know how much I value civility, and many of Wikipedia's problems are due to a lack of civility. Please know that in just a few months, you have made quite a few friends here. Far more than I made in my first few months here. I care about you, and will do my best to help you as an editor and a friend. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:40, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, Jim. I have to turn off my computer right now cuz there is a storm. I'll give u my thought later. Cheers! Miss Bono (zootalk) 19:37, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Good morning

Hello Laura,

Let me start out by apologizing for not working on U2 stuff in the past couple of days. On Saturday, my wife and I attended a Wiki Women's Edit-a-thon at the Wikimedia headquarters in San Francisco. The idea is to encourage more women to get involved with editing. So, I helped coach new editors getting started. There, I met a very experienced editor who analyzed one of my articles, Harry Yount, which I had been planning to nominate for Good article. Based on her advice, I spent a lot of time improving that article, and nominated it last night. Yesterday, I spent most of the day with my two sisters and other family friends. It is the Memorial Day holiday in the U.S.

Disregard the IP changes to the mentorship page. It is of no significance. The username violation I mentioned is Arcanecollective. We don't allow usernames that seem to exist to promote a group.

Why do you want to change your username? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:21, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

i explained the username issue in you talk. i am interested in Civil War's topics. Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:43, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Spanish teahouse

  • Hey Miss Bono,
I see that you are trying to make a version of the Teahouse for the Spanish Wikipedia, and i think that's a great idea. You should try to contact User:Writ Keeper, User:Heatherawalls and User:SarahStierch; who will know best on what to do, and how to proceed. Also, it might be a good idea to discuss at the host lounge and the teahouse talk page.
Cheers, TheOriginalSoni (talk) 08:40, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
You would also have to get in touch with User:Ocaasi and user User:Jtmorgan if you want to know more about how enTeahouse came to be. According to my understanding, it was a WMF initiative. Anyways... You now have plenty of people that know the history here, and like I suggested in response to your question on the THQ page itself, I would talk to the ES:Wikipedia:Café people (I don't know Spanish, but isn't café Spanish for coffee shop or something?). Technical 13 (talk) 11:01, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
yeah Tech... it's the Spanish for Coffee Shop. I'll contact the other users:) Cheers!! And thank you both... Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:06, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
I think that a Spanish Teahouse is a great idea, and I suggest that you also contact User:SarahStierch. As a staffer for the Wikimedia Foundation, she was instrumental in setting up the Teahouse, and still works very hard for the Wikimedia projects, including a major emphasis on recruiting and retaining women editors. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:37, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
SarahStierch was on TheOriginalSoni's original list up there. ;) Technical 13 (talk) 15:46, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Technical 13, I should have written that I also think Miss Bono should contact Sarah, seconding the earlier suggestion, instead of placing my "also" in a way that implied that Sarah hadn't yet been mentioned. English lesson here, Miss Bono! Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:59, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Checked ;) Miss Bono (zootalk) 19:07, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
Hey there Miss Bono. I think a Spanish Teahouse is a great idea! Off the top of my head, here are a couple things to consider:
  • If you want to emulate the Q&A board, you will have to get the Teahouse Gadget installed on Spanish Wikipedia. This will require some community input and the assistance of a sympathetic admin with a working knowledge of Javascript.
  • Check out the Teahouse Menu as a resource for relevant formatting guides, graphical elements and templates. You might also want to dig into our project documentation on Meta for ideas and links to relevant resources, especially our project reports.
  • If you want to have HostBot functionality (inviting new users, moving profiles, updating 'recent questions' and 'featured guests/hosts'), the code is here. It will need to be run by someone with a working knowledge of the Python programming language. If you know a bit of Python or can find a volunteer who does I am happy to help them find their way around the codebase or answer questions.
  • Consider submitting this as an IdeaLab proposal. That way, you can coordinate with people off enwiki. And the proposal would be in the right place if you eventually decided this was a project you wanted to get grant funding for, when the next round of Individual Engagement Grants is selected (sometime in July or August I think?).
I hope that isn't TMI all at once. Again, I think this is a great idea and would like to support it! TH was always meant to go global ;) Cheers, - J-Mo Talk to Me Email Me 23:22, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi Miss Bono, sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I think J-Mo has given you a lot of great advice, and pointed to everything you need. Another good thing to do is find some editors on that Wikipedia to help you, and to become the first hosts, we asked some hosts to join before there even was a Teahouse. Try the IdeaLab like J-Mo says (it might be even more fun, soon) and feel free to ask again if you have specific questions. :) heather walls (talk) 23:44, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Emails

Hello Miss Bono,

I am very busy today preparing for my trip to Yosemite. It is not a "huge problem" when you can't email another user, especially one that is not active and has a likely username violation. As I have told you several times before, you need to learn to slow down. If you don't have an answer on some issue, then just work on another article until things become clearer. Or don't become clearer. Life has its mysteries. You simply can't get excited about these things if you are going to be an effective long term editor. Take it easy. There is no rush. There are no deadlines. We will all be working on this encyclopedia for many, many years to come.

On another matter, I have sent you three emails in the past couple of days. If you aren't getting them, perhaps there is some sort of block or filter at your end. In my emails, I was saying pretty much what I am saying here. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:19, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Mentorship

Hello Miss Bono,

I am committed to the mentorship, and Technical 13 and Soni explained things right. I got home late, had to deal with the dispute resolution noticeboard, and had non-Wikipedia stuff to deal with. So, that's why I didn't have time to do research for you, or take a closer look at the Spanish drafts. You are my friend for the long haul. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 17:54, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

My warm and friendly advice to you, Miss Bono, is to ignore this editor's behavior, and limit your interactions to editors who clearly show that they are committed to improving the encyclopedia. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:28, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
I think I am gonna ask for an admin hel, if that's what you want OneMadScientist, You DID vandalize my page by deleting some comments in there without no permission. Miss Bono (zootalk) 16:51, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Edit Count & Userboxes

Hi there! i'm here suggesting you to move towards more article space edits. out of your 3,120 edits only 120 are on article space, with approximately 1200 edits on talk pages! remember WP is not a social networking site . The more we edit talk pages relating to content that do not relate to helping wikipedia, a Polar Bear dies!

  • On the flip side your userboxes are amazing, like you should be a graphic designer or something!

I personally like your U2 barnstar. Cheers --PrabashWhat? 17:15, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

I agree with you PBASH607 that she needs more article space edits (I need some more too, we all do), but in fairness I do believe that a lot of those talk page edits were on the Teahouse question page and in collaboration with WikiProject U2... Technical 13 (talk) 17:19, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
You're right Technical 13, she is a major contributor to WikiProject U2. I'm guessing that's where that huge number comes from for talk pages, and when she edits an article, it's usually a very big edit (approx 1000 bytes) so fair enough. Cheers --PrabashWhat? 17:24, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
Still though I love that U2 barnstar, and your userpage! (I can't resist it!) --PrabashWhat? 00:25, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
The U2 barnstar she did mostly on her own. Feel free to check out an use any of the userboxes I've created and if you need help setting up any specific feature that Miss Bono has on her user page, I would be happy to help you with that as well (for example the random image in the lower left corner). Technical 13 (talk) 02:22, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Miss Bono lives in country where internet access is slow and expensive. That limits her ability to do Google searches and make rapid progress on writing articles. She is working on several projects that will push her edit count up when they are completed. As my mother used to tell me over and over again: "Patience is a virtue". Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:25, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Hello everyone and Technical 13 and Cullen328, thanks for the explanation ;D.... And PBASH607 feel free to ask anything about the user page and ubx ;) Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:35, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Annie Liebowitz photo

Hi Miss Bono, Was this photo part of an EDUN press kit? If not, the fair use rationale you provided doesn't apply. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:17, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Cullen328; I don't know what a press kit is (maybe I know but cannot associate a Spanish word for it). How can i find out if it was part of a press kit?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 20:26, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
Press kit explains it pretty well. The idea is that an image that is part of a press kit is released specifically for magazines, newspapers, TV shows and websites to report on whatever the press kit is promoting. So that makes a claim of Fair use of an image much stronger. In other words, the image is intended to be re-used. So, how did you obtain the image of Bono and Ali? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 21:54, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

I am asking you because I know you have the book U2 by U2. I have many on U2 but not this one. I am trying to clarify a statement in the article about Paul McGuinness: He was nicknamed by The Prunes as "The Goose", according to Bono in the book U2 by U2. (then there is a request for further explanation needed). Can you look this up and see if there is more information so that people reading this article will understand what the heck this means? Either you can fix it in the article or just give me answer (if there is one). I hate to see it get deleted. It is such a cute statement. ツ Thanks Fylbecatulous talk 21:10, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Talk to you soon... Fylbecatulous talk 12:06, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Wao, Fylbecatulous. I asked my aunt for buying me Bono in Conversation with Michka Assayas, by Michka Assayas, but I don't know if she did so. I would like to have those books..... :'( By the way, I am working on this User:Miss_Bono/sandbox3, maybe you can help to get the article in the main space soon. What do you say?? Miss Bono  (zootalk) 12:15, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
I do hope you get a copy of this book. You will love it ツ It is a very intimate personal side of Bono. I have put your sandbox page article on my watchlist and will leave my copy of the book on the table beside my computer. I will try to help. Fylbecatulous talk 12:22, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Thank you so much, really, Fylbecatulous. See you soon. Where do you want me to put the information about Paul McGuiness? As per Bono on Bono sandbox. It would be useful to have a little explanation on the chapters. Miss Bono  (zootalk) 12:27, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
If you want to add whatever you find to McGuinness' article that will be cool. Otherwise write on my talk page. I am going to have to look up some book articles to see how they are formatted, since I don't usually edit those. I have to go get some medicine for my cat this morning and I teach in a home school three days a week. If you don't see me around, I'm still interested and won't forget. I was trying to clean up some of U2's articles on the project work list (this is how I found the problem with Paul McGuinness). All the best and happy editing... Fylbecatulous talk 12:45, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
See you around. Have a good day! Miss Bono  (zootalk) 12:49, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Hey, I got your list of items from your book. That's a lot ツ. Some could go on articles such as Virgin Prunes...feel free to add anything if you want to; since you have the book. I am keeping your list though.
  • I was going to put a book infobox on your sandbox article, but it appears we are working on different editions of the book. It ws originally published in 2005 by Penguin books with a bit different title. I left your infobox without changing it. Thanks again. Fylbecatulous talk 18:35, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Fylbecatulous, I think the orignal version should fit better. Feel free to change my snadbox Miss Bono  (zootalk) 18:38, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Belated thanks

... for another barnstar. But you already gave me one earlier for work on the Morleigh Steinberg article :-) Thanks anyway ... Wasted Time R (talk) 11:55, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey! Wasted Time R I know that i gave you another bstar, but... a great work deserves another bstar. hope you dont mind :) Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:06, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Ali Hewson for FA

Ali Hewson seems like a great candidate for FA, but it lacks some pictures and requires some copy-editing, I personally would love to get this into FA. I will try to get a picture for it if you can't and perhaps article expansion and copy-editing can be done by me as well, just please if you can try to get a picture of Ali Hewson to the infobox, if done I will get my friend to review it for FA. Prabash.Akmeemana 01:24, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi to both of you. One of the rules of WP:FAC is that "Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article prior to a nomination." In this case, that's me – 90 percent of Ali Hewson was written by me, in the changes I did in November and December last year. I agree that it needs a good image of the subject, but it is going to continue to be difficult to get one. I disagree that it needs article expansion: at 3,626 words it is already pretty lengthy and I believe I incorporated pretty much every significant fact and development about her that is findable. (It's almost longer than the Bono article, which is 3,768 words!) As for copyediting, it is already on the queue at WP:PR, I would suggest waiting to see what that review produces. Wasted Time R (talk) 10:24, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Wow you did a really good job with the article, I was going to notify you earlier but I thought it should be the nominator who should get notified also I'm not the reviewer for this article so I might jump in anyways, the contributor who did the most work is the one who gets credited for brining it to FA status and in this case it is you, I will fish out the picture somewhere where I can upload it. But from what I can see, the article is still GA and has a lot if work before FA. Prabash.Akmeemana 11:20, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Hey! Prabash. don't rush with the picture issue, Cullen and myself are working on that, please, leave that matter to us, thanks anyway and I will be happy you to help us to get it to FA, and Wasted Time R thanks for stopping by, we were not to steal the credit for Ali Hewson's from you. Don't worry... :) Miss Bono (zootalk) 11:57, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

25 june

Hi. I made a CSS that shows some icons, including a Bono's face, in the personal bar. It works well in Vector. Do you want to install it? --CStaff (talk) 15:35, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Yeah I will love to. Hey! 'E' , I have a poor format of Wikipedia here at work. I don't know if that will work. I think it is related with the proxy. Anyway how can I install it, or can you do it for me? (you know I am not good with codes)

And How does it works?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 15:44, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

P.S. Do you know you are my best male friend, don't you? Miss Bono (zootalk) 15:39, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey! Technical 13, 'E' is an old friend from school. I was refering to real life NOT Wikipedia..... Miss Bono (zootalk) 16:29, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Rock and roll clubs

Good morning, Miss Bono,

I posted some information for you on the mentorship page. Feel free to ask more questions. I am not sure yet how busy I will be today. I need to call a customer now, but have an appointment in a few hours. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:48, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Cullen328 , I sent an email to you. Hope you reply whenever you can. Thanks for the info. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 17:19, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Jimbo's talk page

Hello Miss Bono,

I noticed your comment on Jimbo's talk. Jimmy has always made it clear that he welcomes any editor to bring any topic pertaining to Wikipedia and Wikimedia to his talk page. He does not limit his page to conversations about him. All he asks is that people avoid insults and trolling. He has said that he reads and considers everything, even when he is too busy to comment.

He will shut down the page for a three week vacation in July, but then it will be back to normal. I hope this helps you understand how Jimbo's page works. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:36, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Wao, sorry, Jim, I didn't know, I understood Jimbo's comment as people should focus more on Wikipèdia, and less in posting in his page. Again, sorry Ms.Bono(zootalk) 12:06, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
No need to apologize. Jimbo's page is interesting reading. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:35, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Busy days

Miss Bono, there is nothing wrong except I've been busy. Work challenges. A 24 hour fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. A 7 hour meeting at the Wikimedia offices to discuss software upgrades. Helping another editor with a challenging article. So, everything is fine between you and me. And I have some information on rock clubs for you. Don't worry. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:55, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Cullen328 Cool!! I am preparing the synopsis (I think that's the english for 'sinopsis') of the story for you to read it. When you have time I would like to focus on EDUN article and I would like your help. Like we did with Morleigh Steinberg's article, which turns out to be a GA. What do you think?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 16:55, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Can I also volunteer? I've been working on articles in the past few days :) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 17:59, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Sure, Soni When can we start?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:12, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
No better time than now :) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:14, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Soni, what can i do in the first place?? Check out my EDUN sandbox Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:21, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
I already got an article to GA yesterday, so mind if I join the crew? Prabash.Akmeemana 18:23, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Replied at its talk page. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:24, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
No problem at all, Prabash., you are more than welcome ;) Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:26, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me in on this, Bono, is it okay if I expand your sandbox? or should it wait? I will be quick to expand as soon as i'm finished lesson three on TheOriginalSoni's Adoption course. Prabash.Akmeemana 21:34, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
I will be glad if you help me with my sandbox, Prabash. :) Miss Bono (zootalk) 11:53, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Hi Miss Bono, I noticed that there was material on Edun that was in the Ali Hewson article but not in the EDUN article, so I merged it in. But now I see you are doing a lot of further expansion on Edun in your sandbox. Hope I didn't make things harder for you ... Wasted Time R (talk) 12:44, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Wasted Time R. Actually I was going to ask you to review what we are doing there. Please, if you have a tiny piece of time stop by my sandbox. There is a link for it somewhere up ↑ there Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:46, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
I took a quick look at it now that it is in the mainspace. You have added a lot of good material, but there are some things that still need to be done:
  • You've copied and pasted wording from newspaper articles. That is a copyright violation - you have to rephrase that material in your own words, unless it is a direct quotation of someone like Ali or Bono. That's the most important change that must be made.
  • "Controversy" is generally not a good section title. Better would be something like "Source of manufacturing".
  • You might consider breaking the History up into two parts, the original part with Gregory, then the second part with LMVH and Wauchob.
  • The "Irish fashion designers" category should be removed - it's for people, not companies.
  • There is too much repeated linking of Ali and Bono. Once at the beginning and once in the infobox is enough.
  • Wauchob should be added to "Key people" in the infobox.
  • You need to coalesce cites that are duplicates now from the merge and other work. For example, there are three separate definitions of the "Ali Hewson and Bono's return to Edun" National Post article. The other two could be changed to be additional references to <ref name="np-ret"/>.
  • The cites to atu2.com should be redone to reflect the newspapers they were originally in.
Hope this helps ... Wasted Time R (talk) 10:34, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
I've redone the two atu2.com ones, because you don't have Internet access. But the coalescing you can do yourself, despite what you say about not being good at it! Just read the instructions at WP:NAMEDREFS ... Wasted Time R (talk) 00:39, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Ubuntu

Hello Ms. Bono,

Unfortunately, Ubuntu has closed, though notability is not temporary. It was an upscale gourmet vegetarian restaurant in Napa, and had a star from the Michelin Guide, which is a high standard. It was on an annual list by restaurant critic Michael Bauer of the 100 best Northern California restaurants. My wife and I ate there three times, and thoroughly enjoyed those meals. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:32, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Cullen328! I'm glad you replied. I thought you were forgetting me :( Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:36, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
No way! How could I forget you? I am just trying to earn some money to buy groceries, gasoline and maybe a new pair of work boots. I am a man of simple needs. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:46, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Try the lotery :). Seriously, working is good but studying is much better. I am working until I get college and I am beging for it to happen. I recently found out that UH has Wi-Fi, maybe when I get there I can still contributing all the time... Please see ↓ Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:51, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Cullen328, have you ever heard about Ubuntu (philosophy)??? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 20:10, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I have. There is also Ubuntu (operating system). I think that the restaurant and the software were named after the African philosophy. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:25, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Cullen328... I use Ubuntu (operating system) at work, but I am more fan of Mandela and the African philosophy than the operating system, tough, I am a Windows girl :) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 11:57, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Way back in ancient days, long before Windows or the Mac, and before you were born, young lady, my wife and I had to choose between Microsoft DOS computers or Apple II computers. We decided to go with the Bill Gates team which became Windows, and have stuck with it ever since. But we have looked with envy in the Apple direction from time to time. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:40, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Cullen328, I would like to try one day Mac OS, but Apple products are expensive a lot, I only own a U2 iPod Special Edition cuz my aunt gave it to my in my 18 bday, that's enough for me :) Here in Cuba, people used to have Windows as OS and recently Ubuntu, in 2000, when I was in pre-escolar (I think you call it Kindergarten) I was 6 years, my grandpa taugh me how to use MS-DOS, and I am pretty good now working in console mode. That's why I choose to study computer science... :) I'll thank my grandpa for that all my life Ms.Bono(zootalk) 12:09, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Not a bad idea -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 06:19, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Nope :( Gonna check it out Ms.Bono(zootalk) 12:16, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
That means I'll make an account in my own time, but I definitely will sooner or later. --70.181.68.226 (talk) 14:09, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Photos of Stanford University

Hello Miss Bono,

As you requested, I put together a page of photos of Stanford University for you. It is a very attractive campus. I pass by there frequently but don't get onto the main campus all that often. Traffic is terrible around there. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:24, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Wao!!! Thanks I am going to take a look right now. :) Do you know where Sociology department is? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 12:08, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
I don't, but probably on the Quad. Next time I am on the campus, I will take photos. What did you think of my photo page?Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:06, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
It is great!! I loved those pictures I have copied them into my flash to have references when I am going to make a description of the univ... Is the big one, that seems a panoramic picture, the main entrance?? :). Ms.Bono(zootalk) 16:25, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
It is a very large campus, much bigger in land area than the University of California at Berkeley for example. So it doesn't have a "main entrance" because people come onto the campus from several directions. But the Quad is the historic central core of the campus, and the most interesting architecturally. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 17:17, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I get it. Left a message for u in the Msp Ms.Bono(zootalk) 17:19, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

The editor you mentioned

Hello Miss Bono,

This editor has contributed greatly to our music coverage. The editor also seems opinionated and uninterested in socializing. You have to learn not to be so sensitive about such things. It is wonderful when people work together on things but it is optional. Everyone is a volunteer, and it is perfectly OK for someone to say that they aren't interested in something, or don't have the time or energy. Please don't take that personally. Just work with people who are willing to help you. There are plenty of them, and you will meet more as time goes by. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:40, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

Ok. Thanks. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 18:46, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
You do wonderful work here, and it is a pleasure to collaborate with you. I am happy to have a friend like you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:50, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks again, Jim. It's nice to see that I am not a spamer for everybody... :) I am glad to have a friend like you and all those editors who help me everyday to become a better Wikipedian ;) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 18:54, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

Gift for a man

To answer your Ref Desk Q, I'd be wary of buying shirts or sunglasses, as they might not fit his style. If you've observed what type of wine he likes, then get him more of that. StuRat (talk) 07:33, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, StuRat. I bought him a bottle of wine. :) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 12:36, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

U2 questions on the reference desks

I don't mean to chase you away but have you ever thought of joining an online forum for all of your U2 related questions? I think that many of your questions may be able to be answered much more quickly since there are people on those forums who already know quite a bit about the band already. At the Ref Desk, you might encounter some that know a bit more than the average person but still are not the experts that you seem to need for the specific nature of the questions that you're asking. Sure, we might be able to find the answers after some research but on a dedicated forum, there are likely people who know the answers off the top of their head because they've already done the research as part of their own interest in the band.

Just an idea for you... Dismas|(talk) 23:55, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Dismas. Thanks for the idea. I would love to ask in forums, but my poor internet access doesn't allow me to do that. Anyway... I won't bother again at the ref desk Ms.Bono(zootalk) 16:33, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
If your net access is poor, perhaps a mailing list would better suit your needs. U2 Wire is a mailing list that a friend of mine used to follow when he was interested in U2. He spoke well of it. Just an idea... Dismas|(talk) 23:28, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

You have inspired me

I thought to myself if you can write articles for English wiki with your language barrier and internet issues that I could also write for wiki rather than just sticking to minor edits. I was inspired by your interest in U2 and wanted to work on creating an article from one of the red links in the bono on bono article Michka Assayas. I wanted to invite you to look at my draft and help on it if you wish and if know anything more about the author. I do have a question about the two books, "Bono on Bono: Conversations with Michka Assayas" and the "Bono" in conversations with Michka Assayas? They have two publishing dates, and two different covers, and I am assuming one is just the same with additional information added. Kind of like an extended version right? Do you know anything about these two, like can you clarify? I am hoping to be able to have the french article translated in order to add the info from that to the english version. Its in a sandbox as I am not ready to go live yet. I want to thank you for being so dedicated to wiki and how grateful I am for the inspiration. OH and i am also interested in the spelling of the authors name it appears to be different on the french article and i am wondering if this is just a french translation or if he changed the spelling do you know?TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 15:56, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Aww, thank you TattØØdẄaitre§. It is always good to be an inspiration for someone. I will look your draft, but I don't know much about Michka Assayas and my poor knowledge of French language won't allow me to make the entire translation. I am not sure, but I think those books are the same but different editions (could be anything). You can ask Fylbecatulous, he has the book. I don't have it yet, my aunt couldn't buy it for me. I only have U2 by U2 and btw it needs an article too :) As for the name of the author, you can make some Google search, cuz I don't really know. Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:21, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

You are welcome and thank you for the refer to the other editor who has the book. I will so busy today but will get back to this later on. Have a great day and thank you for having a look at my draft. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 16:26, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Computer problems

Hi Miss Bono,

We started having some problems on a desktop computer I use rarely, and now some problems on the one I use most often. So I was not able to do as much for you this weekend as I hoped. So my wife will try to have them checked over today. I always have my mobile phone but it is tough to do serious editing with it. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:05, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

Oh! Sorry about your computer. What seems to be the problem with it? Miss Bono [zootalk] 15:12, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
We are not sure. My hunch is that one computer has malware, which is inserting spam into Wikipedia articles that my wife and I have written (fortunately only on that computer, not the whole internet!) and the other computer, the one I use most often, has started freezing up and crashing much more often than usual. That may be a hardware problem like a hard drive beginning to fail. So, the one with hardware problems is in the repair shop and we are looking into software fixes for the other one. It affects our business and our volunteer work for Wikipedia, but so it goes. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:28, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
About the computer that freezes up; it could be the OS, the filter, the HDD... so many things... I hope you fix your problems :( Miss Bono [zootalk] 12:08, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Please relax

Laura, please take a deep breath, relax, and move on to something else on Wikipedia. Consider handling such matters with few words carefully chosen rather than many written rapidly. This too shall pass, my friend.

I will be driving for at least 90 minutes or so. Take it easy. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:42, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, Jim... I think listening to this will help me as it does when I am stresses. But, things are tough. First, I lost Technical 13, then TheOriginalSoni, Prabash.A and now Fylbecatulous... I just hope you and Anna Frodesiak don't go away. What am I doing wrong? Miss Bono [zootalk] 15:55, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Err, Laura, I dont think you've lost me. I'm here to help you. Just relax, okay? :) If I have ANY problems with you, or because of you, I'll tell you. I have no problems with you right now. I may not reply to everything you say just because i tend to be busy half the time. But that does not mesn I've ignored you. Just that i hope to respond sometime later. Ok? :) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 16:19, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks TheOriginalSoni. Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:40, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Oops! :) I thought you all were gone :'( Technical 13... How's your family? Miss Bono [zootalk] 17:23, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Hey! I didn't go anywhere! Did you forget me?! :P --PhoenixFire contribs 19:03, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
No, I didn't forget you. I was stressed and I couldn't think straight well. You are the only IP in my guestbook, how could I forget you :) Phoenix Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:09, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I've been stressed too. I once even considered a wikibreak due to certain issues in real life, but I reconsidered eventually, after a day of thinking. You probably won't see me go for a looooooong time :). --PhoenixFire contribs 19:56, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
That's good to know :) And I solemnly swear not to ask ever again for gender or ages at Wikipedia. Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:59, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
The exception is asking me. More than half the people on Earth are girls, so that is less than identifiable info :). But to be on the safe side, don't ask unless you have permission from the user. --PhoenixFire contribs 20:09, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
That's messy: I have to ask permission to ask something, I thought it was like, you ask the qiestion, and the user answer or not, or tells you she/he don't want to give those details. Anyways... I am done with asking. +edits-asking= -WikiStress... It seems like an equation. Miss Bono [zootalk] 20:13, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

The permission thing was a joke. If you asked permission, you'd have already asked anyway :P. --PhoenixFire contribs 20:15, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Just in case 0 Questions! :P Do you like U2? Miss Bono [zootalk] 20:18, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Also, you bday is one day befor Bono's Miss Bono [zootalk] 20:30, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Hm, cool. I just haven't heard, that's all. --PhoenixFire contribs 20:32, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Fine with me. --PhoenixFire contribs 20:42, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Re: ONE Campaign

Hi Miss Bono. I took a look at ONE Campaign. It's in pretty bad shape. The "Overview" section should be merged into the lead, the "History" section is clunky and has repeated information about ONE Vote '08, and the "Controversy" section as you said should be retitled, weighted correctly, and merged somewhere. The article needs to find the best secondary sources on the subject and be structured around those. And cite formatting is largely absent. The article doesn't even say if the campaign is named after the song "One". (The 360 Tour pictures are good though :-) It'll be a whole project to improve this, and right now I'm busy with real life stuff, and behind on existing y, so I can't take this on in the near future. Wasted Time R (talk) 12:45, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Ok, Wasted Time R. Anyways, thank you very much for the review, now I know where to go with the article. Thanks again! Miss Bono [zootalk] 12:48, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
Oh, Wasted Time R, by the lead you mean the little paragraph after the infobox? Miss Bono [zootalk] 12:49, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
See WP:LEAD. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 11:59, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Edit count?

I'll gladly tell you what your edit count is...but can I ask why? Are you sure you're not coming down with a mild case of editcount-itis? I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 20:02, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Jeth. I just wanted to know. Last time someone checked that I had a super low % of edits in the Main Space. I want to know what about now that I have made some more :) Will I have editcount-itis Mmmm?? Miss Bono [zootalk] 20:07, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Your edit count

The last time I checked, you had approximately 4700 edits.. It's not a big deal to have a large amount of edits to be a good editor but it is the effort you put into an article that matters. I have nearly 10000 edits, most of those are just AWB and vandal fighting, the 14 articles I created only make up less than 5% of that. Prabash.Akmeemana 18:52, 20 July 2013 (UTC) And if you have 5100 edits.. That's perfect you're a great editor with that many edits, even if you have 60 edits, you are a great editor, I have approx 7500-10000 and am I a good editor??? Not really I'm probably one of the worst editors on the project with that many edits. Prabash.Akmeemana 02:44, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Prabash, you are not one of the worst editors. Far from it. You have lots of potential. Let's not pay too much attention to edit counts, but instead, let's all pay a lot of attention to the quality of our edits. A single edit can add an informative paragraph and a solid reference to an article about an important topic read by thousands of people every day. Another single edit could change a comma to a semicolon in an obscure article about a topic of dubious notability that ends up being deleted ten days later. These edits are not equal. Every edit here ought to be, directly or indirectly, for the purpose of improving the encyclopedia. An editor's reputation is not based on raw edit count, or even ratio of article space edits to total edits, but rather on how that editor's work here improves the body of articles that comprise the encyclopedia. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 03:28, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Thesis

Hello Miss Bono,

The link you sent is a PhD thesis from the University of Florida. The title is "Form and Style in the Music of U2". It is by Christopher James Scott Endrinal and dated September, 2008. It is 174 pages long, and I skimmed through it. It assumes a high level of knowledge in music theory, which I don't have. It goes into great detail about five songs: Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where the Streets Have No Name, With or Without You, Discotheque and Vertigo. Hope this helps.Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:16, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Good! Yeah, it helped Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:20, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
I also had five important emails from paying customers, and it takes a bit of time to skim through a complex 174 page thesis. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:23, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, no problem. Work is first! :) Hey! Had you take a look into Vertigo Tour? I have a lot of plans to do, but I don't know how to organize them. I am having some problmes with my laptop at home... some computer virus in it, I am trying to fix it. I am listening now to Moment of Surrender... beautiful song. Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:31, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Jim. See if you can find something about the reaction of Bono on his appearance in South Park TV Show. Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:45, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Vertigo Tour

The article is thorough and probably provides a solid basis for a Good Article. I see two problems, one minor and one a bit more significant.

The minor issue is occasional non-neutral language in Wikipedia's voice. Examples are phrases like "hugely successful" and "massive audiences".

More important is that many assertions of fact and significance are unreferenced. There needs to be citations that performance of certain songs is rare, or that repeating a song hearkens back to their early days when they had limited material to play, and so on. I saw many such instances where I wanted a reference, fearing that the content was original research by a fan. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:57, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Wao! what can we do? Miss Bono [zootalk] 17:00, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Many of the references in the article may support unreferenced claims, so using the refname function, we can add them to other places. The work is in reading the references and identifying the best one for each claim. There is a lot to read and study. The non-neutral language can be easily corrected by copy editing. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:39, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
How will I know where the unref came from not having the original articles? Am I missing something? Also check this, I spend hours looking for new projects and reading some old archive I found a useful list that can help us to take another article into GA finally. Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:43, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

You can post on the article's talk page and ask for help from the most active contributors to that article, and the active people at the U2 project. I am very busy right now but I will try to take a look. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:22, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Can I

Can i upload a person of someone on google by taking a picture of them of them on my camera Hulkster1 (talk) 19:06, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

You have to assume that any picture you find on Google is copyrighted, unless it clearly says it isn't copyrighted. The copyright doesn't go away just by re-photographing it. So, in most cases the answer is "no". If the image on Google isn't copyrighted, such as if it was first published before 1923 (copyright expired) or is the work of an employee of the U.S. federal government, then you can upload it directly to Wikimedia Commons. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:32, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Are you sure? I am One of Many?? How do you know that? Miss Bono [zootalk] 18:49, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Here is the sockpuppet investigation archive for OMS: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/OneMadScientist/Archive, as you can see, there has been increased activity recently. I am One of Many (talk) 18:56, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
No, I haven't what is that for? And how can i use it? Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:03, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
If you log out then go to log back in you will see "Use secure connection" click it and you will be on the secure server. It gives you an encrypted connection - so it provides protection against eavesdropping and tampering with and/or forging the contents of the communication. Also some Internet access points (such as public Wi-Fi networks at schools, hotels or cafes) inject banner ads into all kinds of web pages including Wikipedia; using the secure server prevents this. -- Moxy (talk) 19:12, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Laura. I'm Jose Luis, you can call me that if you like... i just saw your message on my talk page. You said there were some questions you wanted to ask. Me again:

so many questions!!! LOL! Let's switch to Spanish...

I love Matt Groening and South Park!

You're interesting. Period. You have weird taste and off-beat sensibility. You're smart and funny. Those are the characteristics of an endangered species, these days... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josh Glass (talkcontribs) 18:38, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

A la tercera:

Le he cogido cariño a que el bot me firme los comentarios. :)

sí, postea el pedazo de capítulo y te digo. Sin problemas. Cuando puedas escribe al correo.

You don't have to thank me. I meant it all.

Y lo de mánager va! :D — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josh Glass (talkcontribs) 18:58, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Monday

Hello Miss Bono,

Please let me know about your health issues. Congratulations on your new guitar. My computer is still being repaired.

There are several problems with your restaurant question. San Francisco is about a one hour drive from Stanford. The San Francisco area has hundreds of very fancy restaurants and thousands of casual ones. It has a gourmet reputation. I am pretty much unfamiliar with the very fanciest restaurants that celebrities might patronize, because they are extremely expensive. To me, the question is way too open-ended. Probably the best and most exclusive restaurant in Northern California is not far from where I live, but a very long drive from Stanford. It is the French Laundry. You have to make reservations months in advance. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 14:56, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Yes I got your email and you are not bothering me. It is just that I had a long drive and am now busy with a customer. I will answer when I have time. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 17:19, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Images

Do you know how to upload images, specifically television screenshots and promotional photos? --1ST7 (talk) 20:06, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

1ST7 Television scrrenshots yeah, but not the others. Besides, there is a strict policy about doing that. See the permissions of the logo in the main article of NCIS. Miss Bono [zootalk] 20:10, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
I haven't figured out how to upload images yet but have been wanting to add a screenshot to the Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David page; right now it only has a double image of the actors. I think it can comply with policy. Could you please help me with the uploading part? --1ST7 (talk) 20:20, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
1ST7 here's the link I use: Wikipedia:File_Upload_Wizard, I use the plain form because the wizard doesn't work with me. Miss Bono [zootalk] 20:25, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Email

The previous email I got was yesterday asking if I was around. Yesterday was a very busy work day for me. I didn't get home until after 8:30 pm. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:24, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

That is so late! :( I fell asleep at 3 am and I woke up at 7am. My work place is just a few block from home. Didn't you receive an email from me this morning after I read your restaurant thoughts?? Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:27, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
I got an email asking about Big Bear Lake. I have never been there although I have driven through the general area once or twice. It is a popular area because it is rugged, mountainous and seems remote, but is really quite close to Los Angeles. I got home almost as late last night too. Work has been very busy lately. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:16, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello Miss Bono,

The link you sent was not to the original web page, but to an archived version commonly called the "Wayback Machine". It was a list of awards at Christmas time, kind of in a joking tone, given by an Irish mobile phone company. Ali Hewson was given an award called "Sexiest Celebrity Other Half", and Ali was quoted saying "Thank you, I'm flattered. This will keep me smiling on those 'not so sexy' days". There may have been a photo in the original version, but just a little icon in the archive. That's it. Just celebrity trivia. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:00, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

I got an HTTP 404 file not found error on that second link you sent. I am busy with a customer, but should be done in about 90 minutes. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:46, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Thank you-

You're a nut, but a good, crazy nut. ;) I haven't heard back about the photo, but the one I was hoping for is this one: [5] for the top pic in the infobox. Sometimes photographers who must change to Creative Commons licenses decide it looks like more work than it really is when it's the first time. I'll see. But photos will all come together; it's the text and references you need to worry about. I suggest you start an official U2 (and members) Wikigroup. Info is at the help desk. I've been thinking about how my health is worsening quickly, from hospitals several times a year to more. Once you have focused on Bono, if you want maybe I can tutor you on how I do the photos, show you people in Commons who know way more than I do, and many photographers with whom I have negotiated photos over the years. I think that would be most helpful since I am getting older and Commons mystifies me anyway! Just let me know what you think. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 16:28, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Thank you

Many, many thanks for gifting me with the U2 Barnstar. Awesome is the word. ツ Fylbecatulous talk 20:48, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Six Degrees of Separation ? (pssssssst: read edit summary) Fylbecatulous talk 21:03, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Something you could do

Number one you can go and read the note I left under your note to editors and then delete when you are done. (hoping to sound helpful not demanding)

No problem Tattoodwaitress. I know you are not demanding :)

Then if you wouldnt mind rereading the text you put in there originally and delete anything that you find that is redundant: meaning repetitive aka repeats itself over and over (trying to help you with the english portion of what I mean so you are not confused).

I didn't put the text. It was Pjoef who was helping me :) It was a collection of material he found online. Miss Bono [zootalk] 18:20, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Also while you are doing that remove sentences that really sound like advertising or pumping up the book as if you are a die hard fan (which you are LOL) and I will continue to work on the paragraphs sentence by sentence.

I am a die hard fan of U2 but I would never post advertising or would never pump up any material here in Wikipedia. All of those sentences are part of a material collection online made by Pjoef. :) Miss Bono [zootalk] 18:20, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Once we get the wording taken care of we can take a look at sections and the stuff you mentioned you would like to focus on per chapter. I want you to be a part of the removing of the POV and ad text so that I am not removing stuff that you really want in there.

We can reach a NPOV in my humble opinion. Miss Bono [zootalk] 18:20, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

If at the end I find it impossible to stick to the NPOV with what is there then at least you will have been a part of the deletion process. OK? Thank you dear. Tattoodwaitress (talk) 18:09, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Oh I know that you did not word the original text. I just wanted you to help decide what to remove. Absolutely did not mean to offend you, this is what happens when we rely soley on text rather than voice and tone to convey are messages especially when in a hurry. I already completed the summary and changed most of it. I hope I did not offend you. Could you just take a peek at it and see if you think there is any more NPOV issues. I think the first para in the summary needs some help. ALso this sentence could be used as a quote : The book does not contain stories of overindulgence, infidelity and indecency. Oh, Tattoodwaitress I don't feel offended (if that's the word) :) I'll check that. Thanks for all your help. Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:01, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Miss Bono Awesome thank you and yes you chose the right word. I just moved the book reviews to the bottom but wondering if that should just be deleted. Is it normal to put book reviews on wiki in the book articles? I am new at this. Thanks again. Will help more at a later date. Going to check on the next steps in my adoption. Have a great day and let me know if there is anything else you need. Tattoodwaitress (talk) 19:05, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I wll ask at the Teahouse. Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:11, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Elevation (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kansas City (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

WikiProject U2 invitation

I'd be pleased to help. At the moment, I'd like to find more reviews of the 80's and mention them in the reception of the albums. Do you know a U2 website that reproduces press clippings?Deblinis (talk) 20:56, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

do you know ?

Do you know who said this "The book does not contain stories of overindulgence, infidelity and indecency." so that it can be properly attributed in the article? I want to add the inline citation and make that a quote. re the U2 article. Thanks Tattoodwaitress (talk) 15:48, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Additionally can you please check the new formatting I did for the chapters and tell me if you think it is suitable. I have made a separate section for "Chapters" and then each chapter is a sub section... leaving the TOC with the summary section (as a TOC is basically a summary of whats in the book). I am curious about adding the prologue as a "chapter" which i did but if you are not happy with that it can always be removed. Now is the time we can review what your ideas are for laying out each chapter and moving forward accordingly. Thoughts and comments appreciated. Ok thanks. Tattoodwaitress (talk)

Not much left to do as far as the original text goes.... chapter 10, 11, and 12. Then I guess we need to review the "book review" are those going to stay? Can you check out the chapter text that is still small I think its in chapter 9. I am not sure what that small text means so I have no idea how to copy edit it? Hope all is well with you. Tattoodwaitress (talk) 23:42, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

I strongly think that you should visit the 5 principles that guide our editing. To believe that there might be "a lot of free images" in ANY website is incorrect. It's the essence of copyright violation. You must ask the photographers if they took the photos first! Those who do require permission to use them. Period. On You Tube, you see violations everywhere. The Wikipedia can not bear lawsuits. Those photos are the hard work, and bread and butter of the photographers. It's hard enough to get into most concerts with good seats, & permission to take photos. Then there's the expense of camera equipment, travel expenses to take posed publicity photos, etc. For many artists and photographers, it's it's a full time job. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Sister, I mean this with kindness, but all this chat does not develop articles. Try working on a small one, with other editors first before tackling Bono. I must ask- why his article? What is so important in getting a long, involved article done? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 03:45, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Please stay around

Good morning, Miss Bono,

Please stick with Wikipedia. Kudpung is right. There is much that you can do here. You have already collaborated on a lot of articles, and that is a very good thing. Please stay. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 14:39, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

I am eating a lot of ice cream just to calm down my nerves... I don't want to be a nuisance wandering from talk to talk. As Leah said: [...] all this chat does not develop articles. Miss Bono [zootalk] 14:44, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

I love ice cream and would like to share some. Don't make any quick decisions, please. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 14:50, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
I will think about it... Miss Bono [zootalk] 15:04, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
I'll add to the thoughts others have said here. Miss Bono, even if you need to take some time away, I also hope you will consider returning. It's important that you do not compare yourself to most editors because you are in the challenging situation of having highly restricted access to the internet and that English is not your primary language. I've watched your edits for some time, and I am very impressed with how you have met that challenge. It's remarkable how you have been able to make marked improvements to articles like Ali Hewson and on U2 songs. I think I would have given up a long time ago had I been in your position, but that's because I am so used to my privileges. If more people tried to understand your situation better, they would see why you have to use talk pages so much. Please be fair to yourself. While Cullen brought up some good points here about the expectations you have for other editors that I think you should really think about, you definitely don't suck at Wikipedia. I, too, hope you take a little break and return to Wikipedia soon, excited to work on new Articles and Projects. Tak care, Laura. Liz Read! Talk! 15:56, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Miss Bono [zootalk]! I've just run into you at the Teahouse where we both have posted questions (and I've learned from the answers they've received). Plus, I've also exchanged comments with Cullen328 and I've seen your posts on his Talk Page. So, we haven't ever "talked" on WP but I know who you are and I hope you return to editing. Liz Read! Don't pay too much attention to Eric Corbett as he borders near Troll although I wouldn't go quite so far as to call him one flat out. Your question was a very good one, and I've decided to give you this barnstar for it in recognition. Keep up asking that hard questions!
Thanks so much Technical 13! Miss Bono [zootalk] 13:09, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Eric can be difficult to deal with if he doesn't like someone but he is a prolific content creator and helped me with my first good article Harry Yount. He is not a troll. Caution is advised when dealing with him, but he has done great work for this encyclopedia. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:09, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Does that mean that he doesn't like me? Talking about work, Jim. Can you please check my latest contributions and the history of those articles and tell me what you think? Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:14, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Don't worry about Eric liking you. He can wear is heart on his sleeve...er keyboard a little more than some, but probably because he is very comfortable with this medium and he tends to emphasis content over talk page and can just come across abrasive.--Mark Miller (talk) 18:57, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Sorry Mark but I didn't understand the part of the keyboard and the talk pages. Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:19, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
  • {Ec}} Yeah, don't worry too much about it, Eric will defend his position in a discussion to the death even if he has been proven wrong (at least that has been my observation). I agree he is capable of doing good work, and should emphasize I am not in-fact calling him a troll despite the difficulties that can be faced when attempting to work with him if he doesn't agree with you. Miss Bono, fact is, not everyone will like you all the time (although some of us will ;]), and you simply need to take those instances with a grain of salt. :} Technical 13 (talk) 19:29, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I get it now. Thanks Cullen, Tech and Mark Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:38, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Question #1

I think your answer is excellent just as it is. Your distinctive style is part of your personality. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 14:52, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

What do you mean by distinctive style? Sorry to answer but I don't understand much. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 14:59, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Every good writer has aspects of their style that makes their writing recognizable. You have a very specific way of expressing yourself, which many people here find charming. It comes from the fact that English is not your first language, but you almost always express yourself very clearly. Your style is part of the reason that you have so many friends on Wikipedia. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:10, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I am flattered, thanks, I never thought that my way of expressing myself was charming, I'm intrigued by who think that :D... So, I have friends because English is not my first language... mmm, interesting :D. Thanks so much for the part Every good writer :D Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 18:39, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)Jim is right, your particular way of expressing yourself is charming and an expression of the warm person you are. I always enjoy your contributions and am often left with a smile on my face. Flat Out let's discuss it 03:14, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
You see, Miss Bono, you have admirers from California to far away Australia. But to my friend Flat Out, Australia is simply "here", and California is far away. Even in the United Kingdom, tough-skinned editors like Eric Corbett seem to like you, in their own ways. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:14, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
Wao! It is super cool! :) Thanks Flat and Cullen... I must say that I am really, really flattered :D I don't think Eric likes me, though Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 12:18, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
