Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that in this edit to Bruce Lindahl (criminal), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:31, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Anthony McKnight, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page CDC. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:58, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Franklin Lynch (serial killer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. File source problem with File:10th victim in body bag.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:10th victim in body bag.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. plicit 09:21, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Louis Gaskin

[edit]

Hello, Mint69,

Thank you for creating Louis Gaskin.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Not a serial killer so needs more evidence of notability. Please provide more valid sources.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Inexpiable}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Inexpiable (talk) 20:07, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for improving the article. However, I had to revert one of your edits as you have copied two paragraphs from an external source without modification. This is a copyright violation. Please next time provide prose in your own words.--Ymblanter (talk) 16:09, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Louis Gaskin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references showing notability. Non notable death row inmate amongst over 300 already there. Google search returned no results either.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:David Leonard Wood.png

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:David Leonard Wood.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 14:41, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Mint69! Your additions to Frank A. Walls have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:39, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Copyright problem icon One of your recent edits will be removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Gerald Frank Stanley. 1. Please indent your talk page posts.
  2. Pelase sign your talk page posts.
  3. Please don't raise the same issue in more than one place. As I said on my talk page, people on death row do all sorts of things. They didn't follow up, find the body, or convict him, so you cannot state that he murdered her, or give unsourced details of the supposed events. Meters (talk) 22:18, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, as you did at Gerald Frank Stanley, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You moved it back to article space, so it's up to you to ensure that everything is properly sourced. Since e it isn't I'm giving you your final warning. Once again, you are making claims about the disappearance of one of his wives without sources that back up your claim. all the source you supplied says about Diana Lynn is "Within months of getting out, his new wife, Diana Lynn, went missing in Tehama County." I have a history of using images in articles but ignoring the copyright. Just want everyone to know that I'm not an "intentional" image thief, I'm not that low ok. I'm completely just an Idiot, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mint69 (talkcontribs)

Hello Mint69! Glad to see the messages on your userpage and on Hammersoft's talk page. You've been doing some very good work here, and I don't want you to be discouraged. Just be aware that respecting copyright is something that Wikipedia takes VERY seriously, so if you have any questions, please do ask. The WP:Teahouse is an excellent place to start. There's a very good introduction to Wikipedia's copyright policy at WP:CFAQ. Thanks! BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 21:23, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Arohn Kee.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Arohn Kee.jpg.

Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:06, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:“Big Mike” Terry.jpg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Hammersoft (talk) 12:30, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved you article to draft space. It still has WP:BLP and referencing issues. Don't claim that he murdered someone without proof of a conviction. Your two sources contradict each other. Get more, reliable refs. Meters (talk) 22:01, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You've moved it back to article space, but I've already found two problems. You made numerous unsourced claims about his involvement in a wife's disappearance. The source you cite simply says that she disappeared. Did you even read it? That's another BLP violation. And once again you are missing the fact that one of the sources you cite clearly says that his first wife was Linda Faith, not the woman he was first convicted of murdering. Similarly, it was his third wife who disappeared, not his second, and it was his fourth wife who he was also convicted of killing, not his third. Again, did you actually read the sources you are citing?
I don't think this is ready for article space. I moved it to draft space once to give you a chance to clean it up, but if you still don't see the problems you probably should not be writing Wikipedia articles. Meters (talk) 01:29, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Image without license

[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:Henry Wallace (serial killer).jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Henry Wallace (serial killer).jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 00:00, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads

[edit]

You're still uploading non-free images of living people. Please stop uploading images until you understand copyright. The ones from San Quentin and similar are ok with that State of California free license, but the other ones aren't. You also might want to consider uploading the ones from California to Commons. ♟♙ (talk) 22:28, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes same as above. You can only add mugshots for people in prison based in Florida and California using the correct licensing, not elsewhere like Texas or Missouri. I had to flag two files you uploaded from these states. Inexpiable (talk) 07:50, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mint69. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ST47 (talk) 23:19, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Blocked for sock puppetry - I feel like I should be unblocked. Basically, I am guilty, no doubt about that. However, take this explanation as you want, but I was only doing it to make people think was not an ecstatic editor (someone who edits contently with very short brakes. Within hours, minutes, and seconds. I will add on that even though I used those alt accounts to make it look like I took brakes, I still edited within hours on my main account, Cause I felt the most comfortable making the wiki pages on that account, and that I sometimes forgot I had an alt-account. Basically, I am asking for a second chance.

Decline reason:

WP:SO is your best path forward here. That requires six months with zero edits. Yamla (talk) 13:11, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

So, you were switching back and forth between accounts to make it appear as if more than one editor was making the edits. That's exactly why we don't allow users to have more than one account unless they are clearly identified as being the same person. Meters (talk) 03:27, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly why I said, "take this explanation as you want". Not hear making excuses, but to ask for possibly another chance. Mint69 6:34, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
