May 2017[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that in this edit to Bruce Haigh, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 08:13, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest notice[edit]

Information icon Hello, Millsweb. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Bruce Haigh, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 08:14, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • You should disclose your relationship with Haigh per WP:COI and especially WP:PAID This goes on your user page: user:Millsweb. See wp:user pages.
  • A Wikipedia editor's first obligation should be Wikipedia's goals and not someone else's.
  • Sources - per wp:verifiability (WP:V), please wp:cite a wp:reliable source for any significant information. Regarding Haigh being the source is not WP:V and falls under wp:no original research.
  • Removal of content should be made with a justification in the wp:edit summary.
  • Wikipedia uses the family name or surname and not the first or given name. See wp:surname
  • On talk pages, please sign your name with four tildes "~~~~" See also wp:talk page guidelines
  • There is other unsourced content on the article such as political analysis, writing opinions, and more. This all should be sourced or removed.
  • Your edit here removed all sources. That is not in line with WP:V.

I undid your edit except for the "diplomat" part. Jim1138 (talk) 05:17, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
