Pi Bot Updates

Hi Mike, I hope that you are doing well! I have been working through the Cochrane Review updates and noticed that no new reviews were flagged since June. Whne you have a chance, do you mind checking in and making sure that it is still working? I can see that reviews that we have completed with the done template are being archived still. Thank you! JenOttawa (talk) 21:41, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

@JenOttawa: Good spot. It's possible it wasn't running as it was at the end of the monthly cron job, so I've split it into a second one that will run separately. I'm running that now, let's see how that goes. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 12:18, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
@JenOttawa: It's running through without errors, not finding any updates. Do you know if anything might have changed on the PMID side that would affect the checks? Or maybe there just haven't been any replaced recently... Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 10:47, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
I would be really surprised if we have no reviews out of the 3000+ that were updated since June. What information does the bot pull from PubMed that identifies it as an 'update'? It may take me a while to find an example, but I will look at the review published by Cochrane since June and see if I can find one that bot missed... :) Thanks for your help!JenOttawa (talk) 14:28, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
I think that I already found one: PubMed: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39312389/ Wikipedia article that links to outdated review: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Electrotherapy (reference #9). I will look for a few more in case this is not a true mistake.JenOttawa (talk) 14:32, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
This one took longer to find. Here is another example: New DOI: https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD012067.pub2/full New PMID: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39356050/ Outdated PMID: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27687114 Wikipedia Article citing outdated review: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Asthma (ref 255). JenOttawa (talk) 14:41, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
@JenOttawa: I think what's happened it that PubMed have changed their website, so the script no longer finds the 'Update in' bit. I'll have to rework it to use the new code, will try to do this soon. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 16:56, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
@JenOttawa: I've updated the script, testing it now. I've disabled adding update-inline for now, and limited it to 50. Please let me know if the ones it adds to Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine/Cochrane update are the correct ones or if there are any issues. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 17:29, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
Hi Mike, I just took a look. I see that the Asthma update looks accurate (pulled same review as I found by hand searching). Do you think it is ok as well? I cannot see any issues at first glance. I appreciate you fixing the code! JenOttawa (talk) 02:37, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
@JenOttawa: Great, have set it running again now, this time it will add the update-inline templates to the article as well. Let me know if you spot any issues. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 15:24, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
