Question about Gophers Hockey

Hey, why did you delete the Minnesota women's hockey history? Do you know how hard it is to find history like that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TitleIXHockey (talkcontribs) 04:06, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

I assume you are referring to this revision of the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey page that I made a couple days ago.
If you'll notice, as a part of that revision, I added a pseudo-hatnote (because it's not a real hatnote) that provided a link to List of Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey seasons, which is a fully referenced list of their seasons, which includes (at least, according to the references cited) the team's correct records year-by-year. There were a few years in the original list that I removed which had incorrect records for the team. Through research using the cited pages, the updated records should be correct.
I based my edits to this section on New York Rangers#Season-by-season record, which only shows the last 5 years, plus a pseudo-hatnote to the team's List of New York Rangers seasons, which is a Featured List.
Based on the recent promotion of List of Olympic women's ice hockey players for the United States, which I updated and nominated, I would like to see List of Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey seasons also eventually become a Featured List.
So...all that to say that I did not delete Minnesota's women's hockey history. I'm well aware of how hard it is to find that history...And I used said history to (I believe) improve the pages in question. --MikeVitale 04:22, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

Ah, my bad, I missed that link. I did these lists for all, then 34 I think teams several years ago so it was a bit frustrating to see that missing. It's inconsistent with other NCAA D1 Women's Pages, but given the size of UM and hockey culture in Minnesota, it makes sense that they'd be one of the teams to move the full year by year to its own page (like men's pro leagues).

WRT accuracy, the data was pulled from CollegeHockeyState.net, which has since shuttered, and USCHO, which is riddled with errors. Someone else has been updating that list for the past few seasons so I hadn't gone back and done a check vs. official school records. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TitleIXHockey (talkcontribs) 22:51, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
