[edit]Your account has been blocked indefinitely because your recent comments show that this account has been shared between a father and a daughter. A Wikipedia account is for one person and one person only. Each Wikipedia editor is expected to maintain account security so that only one person has access to the account. Please see our blocking and username policies for more information.
We invite everyone to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, but users are not allowed to edit with accounts that have inappropriate usernames, and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. - If you choose to create your own account @Mikaelam5512 and continue to edit, I've answered your query at User_talk:Star_Mississippi#Herman_Bouwer and my colleague @Netherzone has also begun work on the draft. We're happy to help if we can Star Mississippi 14:56, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hello, Mikaelam5512. Thank you for your work on Herman Bouwer. User:Netherzone, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
I went ahead and improved the article on this important groundwater hydrologist. (I took an interest in him due to my own interest in hot springs and groundwater pollution issues.) Please review the changes I made in article history (click on "View History"). In the event that you appeal the block and decide to make other contributions to the encyclopedia, I'd suggest to first start with a tutorial, such as The Wikipedia Adventure. Make sure, in the future, to not share an account with another person (a big no-no here!), and to learn about the correct way to cite references (sources). See: WP:CITE and WP:RS. Thank you for your contributions.

- @Netherzone: Thank you and the other reviewers for your edits to the Herman Bouwer page. It looks great! Once I figure out how to unblock this account and set up my own, I'll have just a couple of minor technical edits.
- Again thanks!!

- I would note that it is preferred to use the term "article" to refer to the content of the encyclopedia, not the broader "page". 331dot (talk) 08:30, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- If you wish to appeal the block, please read and follow the links in the block message above. Make certain that in the future you do not share an account with another person, including family members. Netherzone (talk) 11:03, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

- Mikaelam5512, you identified this in a talk page post as "my daughter's account". Has she actually made any of the edits, or did she just create it for you? 331dot (talk) 08:36, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- she created it for me. I was hoping to outsource learning about setting up a wiki page to her Mikaelam5512 (talk) 19:33, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- Cullen328 I have some thoughts here, but I was wondering what you think is the way forward here, if there is one. Thanks. 331dot (talk) 07:04, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- 331dot, my main concerns at this point are account security and copyright attribution. If two people are permitted to have access to one account, that number could multiply. Family and friends might join in. And who should be credited with the authorship of the content? Can we be sure that it was the father who wrote things instead of the daughter? I am sympathetic to the scenario described here, but in the end, I believe that we must stand firm on the principle that a Wikipedia account is for one person and one person only, and that passwords can never be shared. I have been married for 42 years and the only substantive thing about me that my wife does not know is my Wikipedia password. We have a shared password safe for everything else. Cullen328 (talk) 07:36, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- Completely agree, thanks for the insight. Do you think this is the end of the road, or could we soften the block to permit them to create a new account themselves? 331dot (talk) 07:42, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- All that being said, I do not oppose creation of a new account, as long as we have a convincing pledge of account security and a commitment to editing in accordance with Policies and guidelines. Everybody makes mistakes. The ability to learn quickly from one's mistakes is what is important, 331dot, as I am sure that you will agree. Yes, let's soften in this instance. - What do you say, Mikaelam5512? 331dot (talk) 10:36, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- It would be great if you could unblock at least our IP so that I can create a separate account. Mikaela can then set up a different account for herself for future use if necessary. Mikaelam5512 (talk) 23:17, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi 331dot. Just following up on your question of May 21. I realize I was late in responding, but would still like to get unblocked.
- thanks, Mike Mikaelam5512 (talk) 00:35, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

- I altered the block to permit account creation; you may just create a new account for your personal, sole use. 331dot (talk) 00:53, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
