I was blocked for what I thought was a friendly jibe at the quality of a friend's user page. I was not aware that this is contrary to the spirit of Wikipedia and I do not plan to do this again. May I please be unblocked?

Given KVN was affected by the same autoblock, I think we can probably afford to assume good faith in this case. Apologies for the quick trigger fingers -- it's hard for us to tell who is or isn't friends, especially offline, and harassment has sometimes been a problem on the wiki.
