Speedy deletion nomination of User:MidnightHam/sandbox
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:MidnightHam/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —asparagusus (interaction) sprouts! 16:36, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for being on top of this so quickly as I was trying to learn how to navigate wikipedia. Maybe some instruction would've been better...I'm already deleting what I did in the sandbox but i thought that was for my eyes only. Playing around with formatting and creating so once I figured it out I would be able to create legitimate pages and make actual edits. MidnightHam (talk) 16:44, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, MidnightHam. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. —asparagusus (interaction) sprouts! 16:36, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for this. I'm very new, obviously, and was just looking for a way to get my information out there. I expect zero compensation for what we're doing but maybe I'll wait and see if we become anything bigger and let someone else create our article. I'll just delete what I did. - Hello MidnightHam, and welcome to Wikipedia! The sandbox is visible to other people. I saw it because I patrol recent changes of Wikipedia. I think that you are a good faith editor, and it's great how much you're complying with policy! I'm sure you can be a great Wikipedian. Happy editing! —asparagusus (interaction) sprouts! 16:43, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

- Also, i didn't think that what I did would be visible to anyone else. I assumed the sandbox was for my eyes only. MidnightHam (talk) 16:40, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
