Rockbox and ADX
[edit]Hi Midget34,
You asked: "Is there any reason that you removed ADX from the list of rockbox supported codecs? If you look at http://www.rockbox.org/since25.html on September 25, you'll see that an ADX codec was committed."
"ADX" is a little-used form of ADPCM which is encapsulated in a WAV container. I think the entry for WAV encompasses it (and it's a slippery slope to start listing every type of obscure audio that can be encapsulated in WAV). If you feel strongly about listing ADX/ADPCM/etc I wouldn't object to a footnote on the WAV entry listing them but a) I don't see it as being very useful since virtually everyone uses little endian 16-bit PCM and very few know that WAV can contain other encodings and b) it would need to be comprehensive and I don't think even the devs are 100% sure what the WAV codec supports. --Bk0 (Talk) 12:37, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
