Sock
Looks like he has chosen to sock. His supporting evidence is the most funniest thing I have seen yet. In fact, it would appear that Theyuusuf143 is the one behind all the account recently showing up. AcidSnow (talk) 22:56, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

City states
What should be done about the ancient Somali cites? Should they be discussed like Constantinople and Istanbul with the heading? AcidSnow (talk) 00:24, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Al-Ghazi
Do you mind helping me improve Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi. The "Conquest of Abysnina" needs improvement since it's largely unsourced and claims that he lost all the battles against the protguess when he only lost 1 or 2 and won all of them. They also killed Ahmad in a hit and run attack according to the Britannoca encyclopedia and not in a full on battle. AcidSnow (talk) 16:41, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- No prob. Shihāb al-Dīn's historical testimony is best imho, as he was there during the Futuh. Another thing that's unclear is Al-Ghazi's age; he was apparently only around 21 years old when he began the Futuh. Best regards, Middayexpress (talk) 19:04, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- His page and that of other Adal and Ifat kings are all biased against them. It states that many of them were killed when a simple google search disproves of this. AcidSnow (talk) 22:42, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- There are indeed many errors. The voicing (active vs. passive) is also in places awkward. Middayexpress (talk) 16:36, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Clan pages
Why on earth do the clan pages exclude the Rahanweyn? Most shockingly it claims "confirmed relations". That's the most dumbest thing I have ever heard. This is all one ethnic group so how could one clan not be related to another? I have fixed all these pages to include all the major clans. For the others, they should see the clan section. Moving posts
I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't post my posts from one page to another, especially when it gives the impression that I originally posted on the page you've moved them to. For one thing, it means that anyone going into the page history to find the diffs wouldn't be able to find them (though that's not the only reason not to do it). SlimVirgin (talk) 21:37, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- I indicated in my edit summary that I was moving the post; I'm trying to keep the dialogue in one place and in its full context. Figured that was ok since you had previously moved and archived posts of mine. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 22:15, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
Kenya death toll
Greetings,
I noticed you were the most recent contributor to 2011–14 terrorist attacks in Kenya and there is currently a discussion here about adding Kenya to the list of ongoing armed conflicts. However, we need to figure out the death toll of the conflict first and consider a new name before it is listed. It would great if you joined the discussion. Ottoman Somalia
I am in the beginning of creating an article for the Ottoman control of northern Somalia, but I am not sure what to ca it. Should it be "Ottoman Somalia", "Ottoman Somaliland", or should I just make separate articles for each pasha like the "Pasha of Zeila"? AcidSnow (talk) 22:08, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- Please see Habesh Eyalet; that was the Ottoman territory in Northeast Africa. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 22:38, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! I could not find anything on a specif Somali region and only found the Habesha one. I fought they were two different things since the map provided is wrong and its called "Habesh". i will revamp the article soon. AcidSnow (talk) 23:16, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Eyle
How are these "Eyle people"? The only "Eyle" I have ever heard of are sub-clan names. There's a Rahanweyn "Eyle" as well as a Darood "Eyle". In fact, I read that "Eyle" is also a nickname given to the Rahanweyn despite it being a sub-subclan. Seeing how the map you created is in the traditional areas of the Rahanweyn, I believe your referring to their "Eyle" sub-clan. AcidSnow (talk) 17:13, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- The Eyle are basically descendants of the original Khoisan hunter-gatherer inhabitants of southern Somalia. There used to be many more similar kindred groups, but most were assimilated. This is why there are today Eyle lineages in various clans in the area. Eyle also shouldn't be confused with the Eelaay; the latter are a different group, a Rahanweyn subdivision. RfC.u
Asked at WP:AN, we'll see if anyone knows why the RfC/U hasn't shown up yet and about the ban thing. No need for you to get involved, you need to be thinking about any places where you may be at fault in any way and if you have, what you think you can do to improve your editing. It's always better to recognise and be open about any faults. Dougweller (talk) 21:18, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

- Just having looked at and edited the talk page, I think I need to remind you that I really don't know about the issues here and that you need to make sure that you are doing what I suggested above and not doing what people say you are doing. I'm unhappy about the way the RfC/U was handled obviously and I haven't had problems with you, but others clearly have and you need to think about that. Dougweller (talk) 05:48, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- There's apparently been some widespread off-wiki canvassing as well. Middayexpress (talk) 16:53, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

I strongly advise you to moderate your language and avoid words such as "sinister" and "stealth" (by which I presume you mean either by email or off-Wiki. It's not going to help you and I doubt that the RfC is going to go anywhere near banning you. I could of course be wrong as it isn't over yet, but your language isn't going to help convince uninvolved editors. Dougweller (talk) 18:47, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
- Ok thanks. But per the policy, the process is strictly for voluntary agreements. I also didn't describe the user as sinister, just the established behind-the-scences machinations. "Stealth" is likewise the term Wikipedia itself uses for this. At any rate, your point is taken. The person(s) behind all this is still at large, though, so if the process doesn't resolve normally, this will probably have to be looked into. Snow in Somalia
It appears to have snowed in Somalia. In this town called Rako. I can understand hailing in the northern regions due to them being 5,000 to 8,000 feet in the air. But fluffy snow? That's strange. That reminds me, I should also a Somali Highlands article. If you can find other articles like this that would be great! AcidSnow (talk) 05:33, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Northern Somalia, including its highlands, is within the Köppen BWh or arid climate. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 14:23, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Well seeing how Erigavo sets at 5,000 feet in the air and it is already has nights at the low 10's° C/40's° F I had assumed going up another 3,000 would at least bring it down to the 20's at night. So I had assumed hailing was possible. Do you not belive it did hail/snow that time let alone at all once? By the way, the highlands in the north are more than one mountain. So are really close according to some maps. AcidSnow (talk) 16:00, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Questions
Anyways, what exactly is federalism in Somalia? Was Somalia a federal republic during the 60's? I don't think it was since the SYL stated they wanted a central government to stop clanism in the country. When they say "merge" regions what does that mean? Does that mean that they form one new region or they are under federal authority but still two separate regions? I would seriously like your opinion on this: is federalism currently working and will it ever work? AcidSnow (talk) 18:56, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Please see here. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 19:02, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Close enough. I understand the mergers now but not the 60's. You don't have to answer the opinion though. AcidSnow (talk) 19:56, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Ok. Middayexpress (talk) 19:58, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- It was a centralized unity government.[1] Thank for the help! AcidSnow (talk) 20:02, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, a unitary state. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 20:07, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- If this does not work can they abolish it? Seeing how countries have changed their governments by destroying the current constitution in favor of another one, it would seem like it would work. AcidSnow (talk) 01:39, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
- It's now a federation per the Provisional Constitution. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 20:54, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
- The Somali President said not to let Clanism mix with Federalism but it does not look that's working. It seems to me that the regions are doing just that. This is exactly what the SYL party said about federalism and it's affects on the country. AcidSnow (talk) 19:27, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Abbyssinian castles
I say that you were editing an Abbysnian castle and I was wondering if you know any of the names of fortress, castles or walls (like the one in Walls of Harar) that were built by Somalis? I would like to expanded the the Somali artchticture. AcidSnow (talk) 20:42, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Most of the Gondar castles were built by Abyssinians using traditional Portuguese designs, or by the Portuguese themselves (e.g. Fasilides' castle). The traditional architectural designs in the Horn instead often made use of dry stone construction, such as at Amud. They also comprised many cairns, stelae, megaliths and menhirs. Lakes
According to this map there's lakes in Somalia. Where can I find info on these? I can't find any. AcidSnow (talk) 19:15, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
