Welcome!

Hello, Mickey798, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Wind in the Willows (1949 short), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:23, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Pied Piper (1933 film)

[edit]

Hey. I made a few edits to The Pied Piper (1933 film), the article you wrote. I added it to two categories, and added templates, which have added the article to several "hidden" categories. I also put a talk page banner on the talk page pointing out the fact that the article falls under the scope of WikiProject Films (which is something you may consider joining!). What I'm hoping is, with all that I've done, The Pied Piper is now more findable by people that are more experienced editors than you are, and yet know more about the film than I do.

Oh, by the way, Welcome to Wikipedia! Feel free to ask questions at the new contributors' help desk, or on my own talk page. I am aware that what I just wrote might be a weeeee overwhelming right now. Just take a moment to let it sink in, and click on the wikilinks. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 00:52, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How do you join a project on Wikipedia?

[edit]

To join a WikiProject (a group of Wikipedians working together on a subject), go to the WikiProject page that interests you (for example, WikiProject Chess), and scroll down to the 'Participants' or 'Members' section (or similar), and add your name in alphabetical order by typing:
#{{User|Your username}} ~~~~~
Yes, that is five (5), not four, tildes (~). You can also find a list of WikiProjects here. Cheers, Samwb123T-C-E 18:35, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Mickey's Choo-Choo for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Mickey's Choo-Choo is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mickey's Choo-Choo until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Mbch331 (talk) 19:39, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mickey798. I added some references and some more information to your article on Mickey's Choo-Choo. It's a good topic for an article, I think, but we'll see what happens with the deletion discussion. I hope that whichever way it comes out, you don't feel discouraged from creating articles like this one. It might be helpful to keep them as user pages and find references before you move them into article space. Feel free to get in touch with me here or on my talk page if you need advice or help in the future. — alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 22:18, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. nice work on that template for the mickey mouse cartoons, by the way. i fixed the italicization problem and wikified mickey's choo-choo. — alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 22:36, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How do you propose an article for deletion?

[edit]
The instructions for all types of deletions can be found at WP:DELPRO#AFD and about 1/2 way down on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion there's a help box for this. Skier Dude (talk) 04:41, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
you should also read this: WP:BEFORE, so that you can be sure to check if the article really meets the criteria for deletion. — alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 01:25, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

hey Mickey, you should put new afds at the top of the list rather than the bottom. also, you should explain why it is that you think the article should be deleted. — alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 17:31, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Where can you find all of the articles proposed for deletion?

How can you stop an article from being deleted?

[edit]

{Help me-helped}} One, show that the article isn't what the tag or AfD nomination reckons it is - not by saying 'I saw them in concert and they were great' but by showing that they do have coverage in reputable newspapers (or whatever is the case). Two, if it really is that, improve it quickly - add refs, remove glowing promotions or bitter attacks, etc. Three, if you can prove that it is a bad faith nomination, contact an admin or regular editor. You can remove CSD tags from articles that you haven't created, but you must give good reason for it. Same with prod (but you can take that off something of yours). In the case of AfD, just go in and put your point in the discussion - but don't overdo it. This is general advice. Cases vary a lot. Peridon (talk) 19:41, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Peridon has provided clear info here; if there is a specific article you need help with, please provide the name. Qwyrxian (talk) 04:08, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add links to pages in your userspace to the above template, or any other mainspace articles. If the page is not ready to be moved to the mainspace then you shouldn't be linking to it from other places in the mainspace--Jac16888 Talk 14:23, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Covers

[edit]

One was deleted as a copyright violation (that image really was not public domain) and the other one as failing our non-free content criteria. See also Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria. In general, copyrighted covers like the ones deleted are not allowed in articles like Disney Sing-Along Songs. I already see 5 more of those images in the article which fail the same criteria. Thank you for btw for adding references to the article. Regarding your "spoken article" request on the talk page. I don't do those, but I think it's too soon. The article is still changing too much, although improving. A spoken article however is never made as a reason because other people messing with "my preferred version" Garion96 (talk) 00:21, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Olympic Champ, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Johnson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Minnie's Yoo-Hoo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. FAC nomination

[edit]

Hi. I see that you nominated DuckTales as a Featured article candidate. Unfortunately, the article is nowhere close to meeting the Featured article criteria at this time, so I have removed the nomination. WP:FAC is a collaborative process which requires the ongoing participation of editors who are intimately familiar with the article's contents and sources; this is why the FAC instructions say that nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article prior to a nomination. Please review these two resources before making future FAC nominations. Thank you. Maralia (talk) 01:23, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. Hi Mickey798! I am Galendalia and I have revived the WikiProject for Spoken Wikipedia. I noticed that you signed up at some point to be a participant and as I am reviving this project, one of my tasks is to get the participant list in order. Would you please go to the Participants List and add your name and language(s) you speak? If you are already there and do not want to be, please move yourself to the inactive list at the bottom of the page. If you want to remain, please put remain next to your name (this way you are not moved). If I do not see anything from you by May 30, 2020, I will move you to the inactive participant list. It would also be great if you would be willing to join the task force for Pronunciation that would be awesome, as there are troublesome words we run into.

Thank you for considering joining us. If you decide to leave, I will be sad to see you leave as so many people have done a great job on the recordings and any work you have done makes a significant difference.

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:26, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
