Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Michaelalcuff, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.
I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Notes
[edit]Here are the notes I promised via email. These will need to be resolved before anything is moved live.
- Any point of view statements or wording like 'interestingly' or similar will need to be removed. The issue with these is that they're subjective to the reader - what may be interesting to one may not be to the next person.
- This needs to be edited for style - right now it's a bit too casual and reads more like a reaction or reflection on the topic. You have good information here, it just needs to be streamlined more. I've edited the lead and women's rights section as an example on how this can be style.
- Make sure that we only cover content that is pertinent to the topic and then, as it applies to the topic at hand. You had a great example of this in the women's rights section, where you mentioned a program that honored women's suffrage while also working to improve overall women's rights in the state.
Overall I think you have a good article here - it just needs some fine-tuning in the remaining sections. Once that's done you can move it by following the directions here. As far as why the move tab wasn't showing up, it was because you had less than 10 edits to your account- you can only move a page live if you have 10 edits and an account older than a week.
