Someone with an OTRS account
Hi Michael. I found your name at this list. I am writing to ask you to look over an OTRS ticket. I was reviewing this IfD in which the person in the photo (Schmidt) uploaded the image. Apparently, the photo was taken by an associate of Schmidt and the IfD result was keep because there is an OTRS ticket. In the US, the copyright holder is the person who pushes the camera button. To change initial copyright holder, there needs to be a written contract (a work for hire). Schmidt indicated that he asked the associate to take the photo, so the associate is the copyright holder and the only one who can offer its use on Wikipedia. Would you please look over the OTRS ticket for this image and see whether the authorization came directly from the associate or if Schmidt provided evidence in the OTRS request of a written work for hire whose terms specifically transferred copyright authorship from the associate to Schmidt. If not, I would like to list the image at IfD again. Thanks. GregManninLB (talk) 15:07, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- (Copied from User talk:GregManninLB) Hello. This is a very belated reply to a message you left on my talk page some months ago regarding the OTRS permissions for this image. To answer your question directly, at the end of the exchange the OTRS respondent concludes that "No further action will be necessary". Cheers (and apologies for the length of time that it's taken me to reply) --Michael Billington (talk) 09:23, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Image permissions (part 2)
Hi there, remember me? I have a follow-up question regarding image use. I am trying to give Europa Barbarorum another lick of paint and if I were to upload some screenshots of the mod, or other images related to it, could I just count them as de facto Rome: Total War screenshots (as I believe that EB has to be non-profit lest the Creative Assembly take action against them, so CA still own the rights to anything derived from RTW - correct me if I'm wrong) and tag them with {{Non-free game screenshot}}
as long as they illustrate a point the article is making etc.? It Is Me Here (talk) 10:04, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Private message flood 2006 freenode.PNG)
Thanks for uploading Image:Private message flood 2006 freenode.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Tool continually crashing
Hi. I've made thousands of edits with your tool, and so thank you!
On the flip side, a few days ago, it started crashing regularly in the middle of edits. I'm on the most recent version of XP, which is kept up-to-date. There were a few XP updates last week, but if I had to guess, my first choice would be that something has changed with the way your tool interfaces with Wiki.
There is an error popup box, Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range". I think it's the same error that used to happen if your tool stayed open for several minutes without an edit being made. Piano non troppo (talk) 05:33, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Likewise. On XP in Spanish I'm getting the message: "Error: Se predujo un error en tiempo de ejecución. ¿Desea depurarlo? Linea: 106. Error: Se requiere un onjeto." I take that to mean there's a runtime error due to a missing object in line 106 - would I like to debug it? (Not knowing what I am doing, the answer is no!) The error arises every time a new page loads and I'm thus unable to use the tool. Hope it's easily fixed. Best wishes, Wavehunter (talk) 03:37, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
