User talk:Mhtjin
A tag has been placed on Maikel Tjin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accounting4Taste 21:04, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Please don't remove tags on pages you've created yourself; it's considered vandalism. You can use the
{{hangon}}
code as noted above. You may want to familiarize yourself with the material at WP:BIO and WP:Notable, which are the criteria an administrator will use when considering the page's deletion. If I can be of any assistance, leave a note on my talk page. Accounting4Taste 21:16, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from articles you have created yourself, as you did with Maikel Tjin. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Marasmusine 21:39, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- In addition to the notability guidelines that Accounting4Taste mentioned above, I strongly advise taking a quick look at Wikipedia:Autobiography as well, thanks, Marasmusine 21:42, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note on my talk page (please remember to sign your posts with four tildes, it makes them easier to locate for others). I'm going to add a welcome message to this page, below, that will give you a good starting point for an article -- you should read through the material there, and that will give you the idea of what makes a good article in Wikipedia. Also, read through the three pages that User:Marasmusine and I quoted to you above:
because these will tell you the specific things that admininstrators look for. And if there's something I can help you with, just let me know (but sign your posts! LOL). Accounting4Taste 22:03, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
