Peace River and area contributions

[edit]

Greetings, I've seen your extensive contributions to the Peace River article and see that you've since expanded outwards to some other Alberta communities in the area. First of all, keep up the great work! Second, I have some suggestions/requests, some of which are based on the edits I've done to your work.

Please use the Canadian spelling of words in Canadian community articles (i.e., theatre, centre, kilometre, colour, etc) and, per WP:LINKCRISIS, please refrain from excessively wikilinking terms that are repeated numerous times throughout an article. Also, before you submit each edit, please consider filling out the Edit summary field before clicking Save page. This will allow you an opportunity to summarize, and provide rationale for, your edits. This habit makes it easier for other watchers to understand what you are doing and potentially prevent others from disputing your edits on the basis that they are unexplained.

Finally, you have contributed a lot of excellent content, particularly to the Peace River article. However, the vast majority of your contributions have been unreferenced. You may want to get into the habit of citing your contributions as you make them to prevent others from removing what is otherwise excellent content simply because it is both unreferenced in the article and unexplained in the Edit summary.

Thanks again for your contributions and, once again, keep up the great work! If you have any questions on this matter, simply reply here on your talk page or mine. If you have any questions on other matter, feel free to drop me a line here. Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 19:12, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Pat's Creek (Alberta)

[edit]

The article Pat's Creek (Alberta) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Creeks typically are not notable, even if they run through urban areas. The fact that it exists and that it was named after someone isn't sufficient.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
