The Yogscast

[edit]

Metalbunny, it seems that there are currently two reasonably written draft versions of The Yogscast. One is your version and the other is the one by Bastawhiz. This draft or the other one can be moved to the incubator. I think you guys can work together to merge the two draft versions and hopefully meet the WP:RS requirements. See the discussion here about it. Nice work creating the draft version btw. - M0rphzone (talk) 01:54, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(Weren't sure whether to reply here or on your page). I actually looked at Bastawhiz' draft before making mine, and decided its content couldn't possibly qualify for a mainspace article (at the time). Looking at it today though, he has done some updating, though I find his work is still a bit lacking in the sources department. Main thing I've been focusing on is writing based on the limited qualifying sources I've been able to dig up. I also had some help from other yognaughts with that. I'm not familiar with the incubator process, seems it involves a time limit, which given the limited material we have to work from on this subject may be an issue. - Metalbunny (talk) 23:15, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(You can just reply here). I think we can follow the guidelines for using reliable sources at WP:VG/RS and WP:RS. There seems to be only 3 reliable sources used in the article right now - the Salon, RadioTimes, and Edge Magazine sources. The rest aren't reliable enough. It's hard to find more reliable sources on the Yogscast, but I think we can just use the 3 sources for citing most of the content. Maybe you can find a magazine source listed on the guideline page?
The other problem is some of the content may have original research and synthesis. For example the second sentence at the top says "hugely popular Shadow of Israphel machinima series"; we should just avoid making any claims that will be hard to cite and aren't neutral in tone. These issues can be fixed though (some rewrites); the main issue is with the number of sources. (Nevermind about the incubator suggestion because it's just extra work that'll need to be done). - M0rphzone (talk) 21:47, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've rewritten and cited some more sentences. - M0rphzone (talk) 22:24, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've tried neutralizing some of the sentences that I noticed after rereading it again. As for the sources, so far (in the 3 months since I started writing the draft) nothing's come up that could be deemed qualifying (lots of blog and forum references, but no real articles). I'll keep sniffing about though. Metalbunny (talk) 09:01, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
