Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to List of content management systems. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. 16x9 (talk) 23:12, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- All I did was add the same information into the table as the other companies. Name, platform, supported db, and latest version. How is that promotional when other companies' in the same space products are mentioned?

Company articles
Thanks for the message on my talk page. I know that some of the policies and guidelines can seem complicated and inconsistently applied, but with a project as huge as Wikipedia, the fact that other stuff exists is not an argument that is well received in deletion discussions. Each article is considered on its own merits and not with reference to other articles. The relevant pages to read in this case are WP:Corp and WP:Spam. I don't have access to the deleted articles as I am not an admin, but if you want to take a another crack at the article, I suggest that you do so in a user subpage where you can work on it over time and have other editors comment on it without fear of speedy deletion (unless it is a copyvio or an attack page, which don't apply here). Let me know if you need help creating a subpage. You should also read WP:YFA and WP:RS. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 03:33, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- Can you help me create a new subpage as you suggest? I don't know what to make it a "sub" of. Thank you. We do want to provide basic information about the company and it'll help me provide better pages for future assignments. Thank you.
- Sorry for the delay getting back to you. First, I am disturbed by the words "future assignments". If you have been paid or retained by companies (or others) to create articles for them on Wikipedia, that puts you in a massive conflict of interest and you are strongly discouraged from writing such articles. Second, does the use of the word "we" above mean that there are multiple users editing under this account? If so, that is a breach of the user name policy and could lead to this user name being blocked from editing. Third, to get to your question finally, the easiest way to create a user subpage is to add the relevant links to your user page, something like [[User:Merylk/nameofdraft]], replacing "nameofdraft" with the proposed article name. The link will be red until you click on it and create the draft. I have already done so to create a general sandbox for you at User:Merylk/Sandbox. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 16:22, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- Want to put your mind at ease that no one has access to my account except me. I meant in talking to others (researching) in getting facts to add to the page. Thanks for your response.
