List of city and municipality nicknames in the Philippines

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you reverted back the nicknames for the towns. But please provide reliable sources for the nicknames. Newspapers and books which mentions the nickname along with the etymology or origin of the nickname is best. I removed dubious nicknames such as regionalized "capital" claims "Strawberry Capital in (insert province here)" and "Home of (insert landmark here)" (since tourist promotions tend to introduce a tourist destination as by their landmark and may not be the nickname of the city itself; unless for example the title appears in a non-tourism article; e.g. The President visited the Ati-Atihan Town for a aquaculture conference and said article does not discuss the festival in depth) since there's a tendency that there is no available sources for these. These nicknames may be in fact adopted but we couldn't include them without any citation for verification purposes. And we should avoid original research or personal knowledge as sole source. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 05:44, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed all of the reports you made to the vandalism noticeboard because, although perhaps well-intentioned, they are a waste of administrator time. Please read the instructions at the top of the noticeboard page before filing reports in the future. The IPs you reported either hadn't done enough edits and/or were not warned properly.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:53, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You added them back to AIV a few minutes after I left this message for you. I'm going to assume you hadn't read the message. However, if you do it again, you risk being blocked for abuse of process.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:02, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
