Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Geordie Beamish, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 5 km. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Suggested WikiProject

[edit]

Hey MelonSeeeds—thanks for your recent contributions! I noticed your interest in Wikipedia's athletics / track and field content and thought you might be interested in the athletics WikiProject. We've done some great work (11 pieces of Featured content and over 25 Good articles), but with over 70,000 created articles to improve and many more to still be created, there is plenty more to do. Come say hello on our talk page, or let me know if I can help with anything by replying to this message. Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope I'll see you around. --Habst (talk) 19:32, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your article Audrey Leduc

[edit]

Information icon Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page Audrey Leduc to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. It has been listed at Pages needing translation into English, but if it is not translated within two weeks, the article will be listed for deletion. Thank you. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 03:44, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sportsfan 1234
I am genuinely baffled as to the assessment that the article (Audrey Leduc) that I created on April 20, 2024 is written in the French language. When writing it, I used the language commonly known as English. Logically, I placed it on English Wikipedia, which from my best knowledge is the home for articles in English. The only way that any individual could deduce that this article could possibly be written in French is that if one believes that simply because one or two sources are in French, that the entire article is written in French. From my knowledge, this is not at all typical Wikipedia procedure.
Therefore, I would strongly oppose any deletion of this highly relevant article and request that the tag claiming the article is written in French and needs translation be removed immediately. It is highly likely this action was performed by a malfunctioning and poorly built bot. Intervention to remedy this problem swiftly would be much appreciated. A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Thank you for your 20+ well-written articles on athletics competitors; they are greatly appreciated and very impressive. Habst (talk) 12:07, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MelonSeeeds, if I may make three requests for articles going forwards:
  1. For collegiate athletes, it's best to use the most specific category possible i.e. Category:BYU Cougars women's track and field athletes instead of just Category:BYU Cougars track and field.
  2. If you want to crop an image like File:Anna Camp-Bennett 3 (51918869093) (Anna Camp-Bennett only).jpg, it is best to use COM:CROPTOOL instead of making the edits manually, because it links the images back to the original and automatically categorizes and licenses them.
  3. When you finish an article, please create a talk page with at least {{WPB| {{WP Athletics}}{{WP Sportsperson}} }} (you can optionally add {{WP Running}}, {{WP Women's sport}}, or any relevant country/state-specific WikiProject), that way it will be properly categorized in WP:WikiProject Athletics so we can keep track of them.
Thanks again! --Habst (talk) 14:06, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Habst, thank you for the helpful advice! I will try to implement your suggestions in future edits. MelonSeeeds (talk) 03:27, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
