Hi Melissa, your expansion of moment (physics) is very nice! But it's in the wrong place! We have an article torque which you'll see is a whole long article about exactly what you're writing about. I urge you to see if your nice descriptions and diagrams can be incorporated into torque. Meanwhile, I will delete it from the moment page, just for the simple reason that it makes no sense to have two articles on exactly the same topic. No offense!! :-)

Here is your version of the page -- a quick link to help you as you think about how to improve torque.

Please let me know what you think. :-) --Steve (talk) 18:41, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(response by Melissa here)

Hi Melissa, you should certainly send your instructor a link to the article as edited by you, [1]. I hope they will understand and not mark you down!!

I see what you mean--the article indeed needed citations, and you did put them in! So I should not have deleted everything, I should have at least kept the references!

I'm sorry that you think I was "rude and unprofessional". I actually tried very hard to be polite and welcoming and complimentary. You deserve that, because it was a very nice expansion of the article, as I mentioned above. (I think the article should not have been expanded, but I acknowledge that you expanded it with good skill and clarity.)

I think that moment (physics) should be officially a "disambiguation page", like Half-life (disambiguation) and many others. Before your edits, it was more-or-less a disambiguation page, but not officially and formally.

I do not think that any page should be merged with anything else. The moment (physics) page has five main bullet points, but only one is the topic of the article torque. The other four are different topics.

I will restore your revision of the article. You read my explanation but still think your text helps the article...I read your explanation but still think it doesn't help the article. So that's a 1-to-1 tie vote I suppose. I will ask on the article talk page whether other people have an opinion. :-) --Steve (talk) 07:52, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
