Sure I can check...

[edit]

...the Kukishin ryu. It's not within my area of knowledge but I can check the overall layout and such. Oh, 221.30.246.207 is you right? I noticed there were alot of changes made by that IP. Happy easter :-) Fred26 07:06, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did some minor stuff on it like putting in a standard source-script/type/thingie. Fred26 11:55, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you help me write this article?

[edit]

Hello,

I was wondering if you would be willing to help me write either Seikichi_Iha or Shorin-ryu_Shido-kan. Tkjazzer 21:48, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored the deleted references on Kukishin

[edit]

An Anon-user (who has put in an entry on the Kukishin talk page by the way) deleted your references. You are gonna have to take it up with him.

Anyways, as for the photos. I'm not sure what you mean with template. Do you mean the info-box or the photos? For the photos I use the same type of commands as you have on your Profile-page. Like this: "Image:Shimizu Takaji.jpg|right|thumb|150px|Shimizu Takaji (1896-1978) - Shinto Muso-ryu's 25th unofficial headmaster and the arts leading personality during the 20th century". I didnt use any kind of template but did it manually and its fairly simple. Just copy the above command and replace the "Shimizu Takaji.jpg" with your own photo, then change the text "Shimizu Takaji (1896-1978) and so on", then just copy and paste. You can select left or right.

Shimizu Takaji (1896-1978) - Shinto Muso-ryu's 25th unofficial headmaster and the arts leading personality during the 20th century

.

The above has the photo to the right, but change "right" into "left" and it'll appear so.

Shimizu Takaji (1896-1978) - Shinto Muso-ryu's 25th unofficial headmaster and the arts leading personality during the 20th century

.

Hope that helps, if not, please clarify what you mean. All the best :-) Fred26 07:21, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you user 219.122.24.13?

[edit]

I noticed a user 219.122.24.13 has changed your latest talk-entry on Kukishin-ryu. Is this your user as well or should I revert the entry he made? Fred26 07:25, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I dunno what mt Server IP is. It could be me. Let me check.

Furyu

[edit]

Its perfectly fine how you placed it. Sorry, I didn't realize that I forgot the opening code for the ref :( JennyLen14:57, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, is corrected :) For you can have, here are the most used codes:

 • For books

 • For journals:

Then at the footnotes or references section you put either reflist or <references/> The first makes the font smaller.
If you have several ref to the same source, you start with

Be aware that the kanji you have at the article's page is incorrect. It appears aas 武芸流派辭典 but should be 武芸流派大事典.

The book also was at first only Jiten 武芸流派辞典 later became Daijiten 武芸流派大事典.

Let me know if you got any question. ℒibrarian2 18:49, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kukishin-ryu

[edit]

I don't mind; half the purpose of putting the lineage together was so I could expiriment with the format. Regarding the kanji for the name, my two concerns are whether the Kuki family documents have been independentantly verified, and making sure we have secondary references supporting the archaic use of that kanji. Hi there! A couple of years ago we had a discussion regarding Kukishin Ryu. I wrote some stuff that I think I should not have written. Do you mind if I delete that stuff, as I don't think it is of any use to anyone? Olle Borg (talk) 15:05, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Takenouchi Ryu.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Takenouchi Ryu.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:34, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hontai Yoshin Ryu

[edit]

Hello again!

I just saw that you wrote me a message... ehh... like almost a year ago. It was about some thoughts you had regarding improvement of the Hontai Yoshin Ryu page in connection with Kukishin Ryu. Anyway, I've been rather busy and Wikipedia was not on top of my list of priorities (as I now am the father of a wonderful 10 months old little girl) but now I'm back. So, did you have any specific ideas? Have you put them in there already? Or have you forgot about it...? /Olle Borg (talk) 12:31, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:DSC03917.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:DSC03917.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add OTRS pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Gyrobo (talk) 16:22, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Shitama Shuzo 1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Shitama Shuzo 1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:23, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Nagashima Castle historic map.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 17:15, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
