[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Oldendorf small.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Oldendorf small.JPG. The copy called Image:Oldendorf small.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 09:47, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial use of Image:Ananda1.JPG

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Ananda1.JPG, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Ananda1.JPG is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Ananda1.JPG itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 09:16, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for message. Note that although educational institutions can't be deleted just on notability grounds, all articles are liable to deletion as spam, criterion G11. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation, press releases, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management. You gave no references at all, just two links to their website, obviously not independent third-party sources. Note also that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting

Medical Imaging --NB: There was a verifiable source that was uploaded as reference for the BKPA's activities: See pages 10 and 11 in the publication by the Princeton Public Library at https://issuu.com/princetonpubliclibrary/docs/connections_fall_2015 (This reference wasa provided; it was apparently deleted as part of "speedy deletion").

  • There is nothing to show that it meets the notability criteria. To show notability you need hard verifiable facts such as the number of staff, funding and expenditure. It seems to be very local, so might not be notable even with that information.

Medical Imaging --I don't know the number of staff, funding, or expenditure as I DO NOT WORK FOR THE BKPA, NOR AM I PAID BY THEM. I am just a member of the community that is rather impressed by what these kids have been able to accomplish.

  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: dedicated to helping children... in a fun way... it is a rare entity in the world...— and that's just the lead.

Medical Imaging --The statement about their purpose is taken from their website, http://www.bkpa.org/. If this language is objectionable, it can be removed; however, I hardly think it warrants removal of the entire article!

  • I note that you have created only this article in recent years. If you have a conflict of interest when editing this article, you must declare it. In particular, if you work directly or indirectly for the organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Medical Imaging. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Medical Imaging|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

Medical Imaging -- I have written other articles for Wikipedia before and performed edits of articles on various topics but mainly about science and scientists. I hardly think that writing an article about a nonprofit therefore constitutes a reason to suspect CoI. It is true that I have been dormant for some time, but as I mentioned above, I do not work for the BKPA, nor am I paid by them. I live in the same community as they do. Is that a CoI? Do I have to go back to writing only scientific articles?

  • Before attempting to write an article again, please read this guidance

Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:38, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you wish to try again, please read the above carefully first so that you know what you need to do, and note that educational organisations can be deleted through the AfD procedure, so if it isn't notable, you may be wasting your time. If you wish to proceed, you should write as a draft initially anyway. If, having read all of the above and answered the COI query, you wish to continue, I could restore the deleted text, suitably modified, to a user page for improvement Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:45, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Medical Imaging -- I have read the guidance. It makes no mention of the "criteria" by which "notability" is established. It seems that the criteria for establishing "notability", and therefore, choosing whether or not to delete the article quickly, is VERY SUBJECTIVE. I am not saying this article is in its polished, final form... yes, there is room for improvement (as with all Wikipedia articles - that's the beauty of Wikipedia!)... but this organization (the BKPA) is out there in a community (Princeton) that references Wikipedia frequently, and could stand to use read information on a wiki to corroborate what they see. Please restore the deleted text, modified as deemed necessary, in a user page for improvement.
