Hello!
[edit]Welcome to wikipedia!
[edit]I hope you'll like editing here. I see you've already been busy contributing on several economy-related topics - good job! Wikipedia can always use more constructive editors. If you need some help figuring out how things work at wikipedia, feel free to ask me.
However, I noticed that you have been adding the same source as reference on various articles and that your username seems to have some similarities to the name of the author whose book you've been adding to the references on some articles. Are you the author or close to him?
If so, you may have some conflict of interest. That does not mean that your source can't be used, but it would be a good idea to declare that you are indeed him (for example on your userpage), and to discuss the addition of your source or information from it to an article on that article's talkpage first, to prevent your edits from being reverted as promotional or spammy even if they can be useful to wikipedia. If you need some help figuring out what to do or what not to do, please feel free to ask me. I'll be keeping an eye on this page, so you can just reply here if you prefer. Hi AddWittyNameHere,
Thank you so much for all advice. As a newbie in wikipedia, I really appreciate your advice. Certainly my intention wasn't to make any act of vandalism or spamming. I just wanted to enrich the content with some new, up-to-date material.
How can I contact you directly? I can't find any e-mail?
- Hello again. You're very welcome. I figured you were new and it is pretty hard to learn all the rules here, which is why I left you a message. It would be a pity to see a constructive editor leave just because no one could be bothered to help point them in the right direction, after all.
- As to how to contact me, after my name, when I sign my posts, you see (talk), yes? If you click on that link, you get to my talkpage. There, you can leave a message for me and I'll notice it pretty soon. If you're not responding to something that already has its own 'topic', the best thing to do when you're on my talkpage would be to click "New Section" on the light blue upper bar. (It's between "edit" and "view history"). That way, your question or remark or such gets its own header, making it easy to find.
- Like I said, though, you're also welcome to just ask things here on your own talkpage, though. I've got it on my watchlist, so I'll look out for any new messages. Again, if you have any questions or need help, let me know. I'm happy to help. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 20:26, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
Medbak72, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi Medbak72! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
You're welcome!
[edit]In response to what you said on my talkpage, you're very welcome. One piece of advice: when you're on a talkpage (but not in articles, of course), sign your posts. That way, it's easier for people to see who said what and gives people an easy link to your userpage and talkpage. You can sign by typing four tildes, like this: ~~~~. The software automatically changes that to your signature. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 19:26, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
