Conflict of interest
[edit]If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article MECWA, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Cirt (talk) 22:11, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Conflict of interest concerns
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.
There are two issues with this:
- You may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
- Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.
Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the policy to not edit in a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Although Wikipedia has a great many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
below this message box. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Requested username:
Decline reason:
Because of my conflict of interest I was asking for others to review the article and rather than getting any help I've been blocked, all I've done is follow protocal and in return am being blocked and deleted with no helpful feedback or response. From the start there was the article MECWA already on wikipedia, I was asked to update the info which I did, and then the page got deleted without any conversation about the page, so I placed the page into my subpage, waited and asked the person who deleted the orginal page for feedback, which never happened. So I waited and then did as wikipedia advises requested the page move. Now the page is being deleted and I've been blocked. Now I can't even engage in conversation about the page. It was my thinking that to keep honest that having a username that refelceted that I was from mecwacare would help in people knowing the source of the information instead of using something like cat09 or something like that.
I just want to be unblocked and work with wikipedia editors in creating a wikipedia freindly page. I understand the need to keep content honest and well rounded and highly respect that. Which is why I've been asking for help in this matter.Mecwacare 02 (talk) 21:43, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- People from mecwacare are the last people we want creating or editing an article about mecwaware. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:52, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Orange Mike, whilst I agree with you in keeping honest and true information, your comment has not answered or helped in anyway. There was alreday infomation on wikipedia about mecwa (mecwacare) which I had updated, which then got deleted and now I'm trying to re-create the page within wikipedia guidelines.
