Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Renault F1, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted (undone) by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

  • Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place "{{helpme}}" on your talk page and someone will drop by to help.
  • The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Renault F1 was changed by Me12356 (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.953536 on 2011-12-13T13:22:51+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 13:22, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Renault F1, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. GrayFullbuster (talk) 13:26, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Renault F1, you may be blocked from editing. GrayFullbuster (talk) 13:30, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

F1 Teams changing names in 2012

[edit]

Hi Me12356. In case you hadn't noticed, new articles (Caterham F1, Lotus F1 and Marussia F1) and templates ({{Caterham F1}}, {{Lotus F1}} and {{Marussia F1}}) have been created to cover the activities of these teams from 2012 onwards. So the old articles (Team Lotus (2011), Renault F1 and Virgin Racing) and templates ({{Lotus Racing}}, {{Renault F1}} and {{Virgin Racing}}) now only cover the period up to 2011, and so should contain the "old" names. Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 21:51, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template changes

[edit]

Hi there Me1235, I happened to notice you have made a number of small changes to team templates recently. Some of these that have changed text or background colours (such as this previous one for Renault's template [1]) have made the team name less readable, and hence have been reverted. Please try and use the preview function before saving your edit, to see whether the change has a positive effect. Also, if you would leave an edit summary to explain your reasons for any changes if would be helpful. Thank you QueenCake (talk) 14:20, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Me12356. As QueenCake said, please use the preview function in order to makes sure that your edit is as you intended. Your edits to Template:Mercedes Grand Prix broke one of the links. Thanks. Readro (talk) 11:35, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Renault navbox

[edit]

Me12356, a number of editors have expressed concern regarding your adjustments to this navbox and your plastering it all over pages that are only peripherally related to the navbox subject. Right now you appear to be trying to hammer a square peg into a round hold, despite the fact that people are already pointing out that it won't go. Following the principles of WP:BRD you really ought to discuss the matter, as you have been asked to do, rather than engage in an edit war. Pyrope 15:30, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please cease re-adding navboxes to articles after having been reverted. Either discuss the additions and try and establish consensus for a change, or prepare to be blocked for edit-warring. Consider this a warning. Thank you QueenCake (talk) 16:41, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, it wouldn't. Take a look at all the other navboxes like it. What are their purpose? These boxes are used to provide a compendium of links that are important to the organisation. They are there to provide a handy and convenient way of accessing that organisation's significant history. That's why not every staff member is listed. That's why not every driver is listed for teams that have a long history. Too many links and the boxes become unusable and confusing (some are getting that way anyway). To avoid the gradual growth and bloating of these boxes we tend to cut off the links at those related solely to the subject as a constructor of vehicles. Renault are no longer an F1 constructor, just an engine supplier. Renault Sport F1 is an engine manufacturing plant, not a race team. Many teams and road car manufacturers have supplied engines to other F1 entrants (Ferrari, BRM, Ford, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, Porsche, Peugeot, and more). Renault themselves have supplied engines to a whole bunch of teams down the years, including Williams (a number of times since the 1980s), Lotus (the real one), Tyrrell, Benetton and Ligier. In no cases do we provide a full list of teams and cars that engine suppliers have provided motive power for. Some of the other changes that you have made, such as deleting the Union Jack, are also pretty neophyte in their outlook. Renault have, off and on, been an F1 constructor since the 1970s. At times they ran under a French licence, at times a British one. Deleting one of these or altering the title changes the scope of the box. Bear in mind that for quite a long period that there was a Renault F1 team, there was also a separate Renault Sport team constructing touring cars and rally cars. Glad you asked the question and I hope that makes some sense. Bye for now. Pyrope 14:18, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Interacting

[edit]

Hi. You might have noticed that a lot of your recent edits are getting reverted, by myself and others. Mostly these are because your changes are either unhelpful (for example, in that you are simplifying things that shouldn't be simplified) or are altering pages to show incorrect or irrelevant information. One of the major aspects of Wikipedia is the editing community. There are plenty of editors who have been here for many years, who form a large group of experienced and knowledgeable people who interact to improve and maintain the Wikipedia pages. If you are serious about helping to contribute to Wikipedia in a constructive and useful way it would probably be a good idea to start asking some questions of such folk. Questions such as "why is this happening?", "why are my edits considered not helpful?", and so on. You can leave messages on an individual editor's page as described in the welcome message at the top of this page, or you can go to group discussion boards (such as the one at WP:F1) and ask questions of the community as a whole. Hope to see you there. Pyrope 20:14, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The F1 navboxes are, as many people have already pointed out to you, supposed to facilitate navigation throughout a team's history. Titling them with sponsor names or with unrepresentative modern monikers just isn't helpful. Pyrope 11:54, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism warning - May 2012

[edit]

This is your last warning. The next time you upload a media file with false or missing copyright or source information, as you did at File:HRT F1 Team Motorhome 2010.jpg, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. These images are quite clearly copyright. The notice is very clear at the bottom of the page. The images themselves are prominently watermarked. The terms of use state explicitly that none of the website's content is to be reused for any purpose. Your assertion of free use is therefore plainly a bare-faced lie, and so their uploading is considered deliberate vandalism. You have previous form in this issue, so stop. Pyrope 11:44, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be trying to add a section to the infobox on the above article. Unfortunately, the infobox does not support this addition which therefore does not show. Using "Show Review" button, in the line of buttons at the bottom of ther edit screen next to "save" before saving would tell you this Britmax (talk) 10:49, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well my opinion is no, a mention in the text is enough. But I was just letting you know that the infobox does not currently support such an addition. Britmax (talk) 11:14, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for after the final warning, further up this page, again uploading an image (File:Eric Boullier.jpg) with a false claimed free licence. This image's copyright is owned by Renault and is not public domain. When this block expires I suggest you refrain from uploading images until you have completely understood why your uploads are unacceptable on Wikipedia., as you did at File:Eric Boullier.jpg. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

The Site i got the image from allowed you to use the images as the images where free for public uses the reason you blocked me was unfair

Decline reason:

See below. If you're unsure about copyrights, don't upload images. When in doubt, ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Max Semenik (talk) 12:35, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You appear to be completely misunderstanding copyright. You took a copyrighted image from a website and claimed it as public domain. I suggest you read the article Public Domain. Your copyright tag was {{PD-because}}. Images found on the internet are NOT public domain and you are not free to upload them here - Peripitus (Talk) 11:21, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please make sure to include an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! JonC 10:58, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
