Question from Jaydeepsunilpatil (14:20, 6 February 2025)
[edit]How can I start my own wikipedia --Jaydeepsunilpatil (talk) 14:20, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Jaydeepsunilpatil Do you mean you want to start your own online encyclopedia website? The MediaWiki code is open source, but web development is beyond my area of expertise, so you might want to talk to someone with that experience. If you want to start a new language Wikipedia, or if you want to create an article, there are a number of guides you can look at – let me know if you want me to link you any. Question from Reus captivus (15:15, 10 February 2025)
[edit]Hi, I'm thinking about moving a page. It's the Mental disorders diagnosed in childhood and I'm thinking about changing it to Mental disorders typically diagnosed in childhood. While it's not a big change I feel it's more accurate both the sources of DSM-5-TR and ICD-11. Also it makes sure that people don't think that these mental disorders are only diagnosed in childhood, rather that they are generally present during childhood. Thanks in advance! --Reus captivus (talk) 15:15, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Reus captivus
- Hi! From my perspective, updating the page title makes sense. There are multiple ways to go about this – one way is to start a discussion for a move (page name change) on the talk page. Getting consensus might take some time and people might disagree, but it reduces the chance of future disagreements.
- There's also a page where you can request title changes if for any reason you are unable to change the title (usually, we use the "potentially controversial move" option if it isn't a simple technical change, like correcting a typo).
- The most direct way is to move the page to the new title and provide justifications in your edit summary/on the talk page and with sources reflecting the name change, such as scholarly articles on the modification of the DSM. Let me know if you have any further questions! Me, Myself & I (☮) (talk) 18:34, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
