Moving pages

[edit]

Hi. I just saw that you recreated the page Afghan (blanket) with the content of what used to be Afghan blanket. While this name change was a welcome improvement of Wikipedia, unfortunately the way you did it wasn't the best method. Each article page has an edit history and a talk page associated with it. When changing a page name, you want to preserve these. This is done with what is called a page move, described at Help:Moving a page. New users (I think it's less than four days and less than ten edits.) can't move pages but can request moves at Wikipedia:Requested moves. The move "Afghan blanket" -> "Afghan (blanket)" could have been added at Wikipedia:Requested moves#Uncontroversial requests, as I don't see anyone disagreeing with the move. --ospalh (talk) 09:06, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
