Orphaned non-free image File:Stiwestnegnewlogo.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading :File:Stiwestnegnewlogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 13:57, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If there's a need to delete the image, please go ahead. I went back to the original article and there was already a new photo added which is more appropriate and useful. I therefore acknowledge the photo will be deleted any time in the future. Thank you. Mclovin'tosh (talk) 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Negros Island Region is not Officially Region XVIII

[edit]

With regards to the three source you have posted on my talk page, I cannot accept them because they are not official.

For the Negros Island Region to be officially Region XVIII then there must be an official issuance (either executive or legislative) to that effect. If you know of such an issuance, please let me see it and I will protest no more.

Until such issuance appears there is no Region XVIII because neither the media nor government departments poses the power to rename regions (which is essentially what this is, appending Region XVIII to the existing name).

The only official designation at this time is NIR because that was explicitly stated in EO 183 therefore references to Region XVIII are erroneous.

David A. Short (talk) 22:33, 13 July 2015 (UTC);[reply]

I am beginning to wonder what is actually meant by Negros Island Region is now officially Region XVIII. It could in fact mean one of two things:

First, it could mean Negros Island Region is now officially the 18th region (a reference to the region's creation).

Second, it could mean Negros Island Region is now officially Region No. 18 (a reference to the region's numerical designation)

Given this ambiguity, it is possible that the original statement is being misinterpreted. Either way, without either an executive or legislative issuance, the name cannot officially include Region XVIII.

David A. Short (talk) 22:52, 14 July 2015 (UTC);[reply]

Lists of alumni are usually intended to contain only those people who are notable, as shown either by having WP articles or being obviously qualified for one. For those with articles, all that is added to the name is a key phrase in a few words saying their field, such as supreme Court judge or the like, sometimes along with the birth and death dates. Everything else can be found in the linked article. For other, enough must be said to make their qualification obvious (again,Supreme Court judge would do it), along with the dates. Everything else should be saved for the eventual article. If the presence of a red-linked name is challenged, the article needs to be written. If the fact of being an alumnus is challenged, a ref. is needed.

Pleasefix up that article--I could do it, but it would be better to do it yourself. DGG ( talk ) 04:45, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

~ Hi there! Thank you for that helpful information. I'll be glad to fix up the article at a later time and also, I would appreciate if there's anything you can do to fix the article. Cheers! mcLovin'tosh ( talk ) 5 October 2015 (UTC)

I removed the most extreme excess. Please make sure you understand my rationale. You now need to either get articles accepted on the various businessmen and educators still there without them, or remove them, because they are none of the totally obvious for notability. You then need to either add articles for the Senators without them ,or give cites for their positions. If you think any I removed notable, try writing articles on them. DGG ( talk ) 04:35, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I removed two more, commented some out, and agree with DGG. Widefox; talk 13:07, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Negros province

[edit]

Hello, you seem to be involved with Filipino articles. Could you please consider creating a (stub) article for Negros (province), just as I did for Agusan (province) and Surigao (province). It would stop people from trying to redirect the red links in Template:Philippines former provinces and cities. I tried trying to find some info on this province in the Provinces of the Philippines article, but I can't find anything which would indicate that 'Negros' existed as a province. So hopefully you have some information which could get an article started. Thanks, --Midas02 (talk) 15:08, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Brian Kendrick/Paul London's reign

[edit]

I'm not sure what's making you suggest that their reign is now 334 when for over a decade it's been 331 but if it's because of tape delay it doesn't work that way. There have been teams that lost the belts on a taped show before they even win them legitimately whose reigns are in the negative days; gotta go by the actual day they lost them not when it aired.

LordVacation (talk) 13:32, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can we stick to their article titles based on Commonname so that they are easily recognizable and standard across all Wikipedia? Very few people know Barack H. Obama or Barack Hussein Obama. And this applies to Filipino political figures also.--RioHondo (talk) 16:47, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey hello there! Actually I totally understand where you're coming from. I see your point right there. I'm not against using commonname but what I'm trying to imply here is the "Presidential style" template. Yes we can retain the article name (which is the common name) in lead infoboxes but if it's possible to use the official presidential name in the "presidential style" template then it would be much better in my opinion though. As far as I know here's the list of their "preferred" presidential names appearing in official documents regardless of their common names (or article names):
  • Emilio Aguinaldo
  • Manuel L. Quezon
  • Jose P. Laurel
  • Sergio Osmeña
  • Manuel Roxas
  • Elpidio Quirino
  • Ramon Magsaysay
  • Carlos P. Garcia
  • Diosdado Macapagal
  • Ferdinand E. Marcos
  • Corazon C. Aquino
  • Fidel V. Ramos
  • Joseph Ejercito Estrada
  • Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
  • Benigno S. Aquino III
  • Rodrigo R. Duterte

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Please let me know what you think. Thanks. – mc'Lovintosh 17:15 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Oh okay. But again, I'm not against using common names. I'm only particular in the "president style" template box. Obviously we need to use the article name (esp. in lead infoboxes) because that IS the appropriate way as per wiki policy. Anyway, Bill Clinton has always been Bill Clinton. The name "Bill Clinton" has been his common name and presidential name. That cannot be disputed because I'm never familiar with who William J. Clinton is, and yes you're right that would confuse readers indeed. However take a look at the Joseph Estrada article. Lead infobox says "Joseph Estrada". Although it's not his full name (his given birth name is Jose Marcelo Ejercito) but we need to use Joseph Estrada because that's the common name and the article name and I'm not disputing that because that's the rule here in wiki. It would be confusing to use Joseph Ejercito Estrada or Jose Marcelo Ejercito in lead infoboxes because just like what you said it would make readers pause and think. But if you go to the "Presidency" section, then it would give you Joseph Ejercito Estrada there because that's what the section is all about: "presidential styles and everything". mc'Lovintosh 17:52 7 July 2016 (UTC)
Still iffy on the presidential style template. For me, this is no different from LGUs where we dont use any official name in any template box/infobox for Science City of Muñoz, Island Garden City of Samal, Baguio City, City of Malolos, etc. Thats just the way i see all of these Official Names and titles.--RioHondo (talk) 18:04, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmmm... Well that makes sense. Since you mentioned those LGUs and the way you see about these official titles and names, it actually made me think maybe you're right. Well, let's continue discussing this some time later. I need to go to bed for now to reactivate my brain. Thank you so much for discussing this. I'll talk to you later. Hopefully we'll come up with a consensus regarding the matter. Thanks again. mc'Lovintosh 18:13 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:23, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:13, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Francisco Jose Matugas II requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

It may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion under CSD g5

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Nagbibinata moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Nagbibinata, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your page to draft space (with a prefix of Draft: before the article title) where you can work on it with minimal disruption. When you feel that it meets our notability and neutrality requirements, and is thus ready for mainspace, please submit it using the Articles for Creation template on the page. Your draft article, Draft:Nagbibinata

[edit]

Hello, Mclovin'tosh. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Nagbibinata".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
